I'd think: Govt maternity grant!!! no, don't want to open that can of worms! are you talking about the SC Balmoral?? I have only seen a couple of people with these. One was a lady at a travelling fair
the other lady was vv snooty though not nearly as haughty as her own mother (the grandma who looked after the little girl for part of the week). the def bought it to convey that they were a cut above - no question about it in my mind. the little girl was never v enthusiastic about it nor did she ever appear comfortable or relaxed - esp when she reached age 2 and was having to sit with her legs streched out straight covered by a zillion eiderdowns and comfort blankets. and as for not being able to fit through shop doors - there were always people around who were on the verge of calling for help because her mother would be absorbed in her shopping while the little girl was parked outside the shop and almost climbing out of her tank onto a dual carriageway (this is london, not some idyllic rural location).

saying that, vintage sc rocks and i would gladly have used one (and if i remember rightly they fit through most shop doors too)

I have one... but it was £60 from ebay! It's an old one I did up a bit, so looks new.

They are amazing, I still use it now my dd is 10 months- you can get a weeks' shopping on it no problem.

Lots of people stop to comment though. No-one ever notices the baby.

I adore it.
