Ok fingers crossed for you, I've been told 3 different things then last time I called I got a text message not long after I got off phone saying we still looking at your claim you don't need to contact us, but women on phone told me it hadn't even been looked at yet

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 25/04/2023 17:43

@Minnie83 we have the same scan date... ill keep you updated on mine i called 2 weeks ago for extra evidence and they said i had arond 5 weeks left. Had the message this morning saying were still looking at your claim so probably still a while for me yet! X

Minnie83 · 25/04/2023 18:44

@Jay53 Sorry to hear your claim was declined! Ours was too, it’s absolutely gut wrenching isn’t it. We are currently waiting on a Mandatory Reconsideration for our 6y/o!! My initial claim date starts from the 16/11! Should hear back within the next few weeks about the outcome of that. It’s a very drawn out, frustrating and emotional ride this whole DLA thing 🙃 and something I would rather not be having to do. At this stage if it isn’t overturned I have come this far I have decided that I will go down the tribunal route.
Good luck to those of you waiting. Our initial decision took 15 weeks from them receiving the paperwork and now nearly at 5 weeks for the MR.

Minnie83 · 25/04/2023 20:16

@Mommax3 never give up that's what they want, fight for what u believe your child is entitled too 💯

Jay53 · 25/04/2023 21:49

@Mommax3
How did you do the mandatory reconsideration? I have wrote everything down tonight on the points the lady mentioned over the phone. Do I just give them a call as they told me I only have 4 weeks from the day they declined and that was 2 weeks ago so worried they wouldn't get the letter on time as my original application apparently didn't reach them for 2.5 weeks.

Jay53 · 25/04/2023 21:55

@Mommax3 keep us updated on the outcome for your MR

Mommax3 · 26/04/2023 06:16

I called them, asked to request a MR over the phone and told the lady I spoke with that I would be sending in a written response. They give you an additional 2 weeks to get the response to them as they send out a letter with their reasons why the claim was declined. I will do, good luck to you x

Minnie83 · 26/04/2023 06:44

@Jay53 you should of requested MR wen they told you decision on the phone, so now ul have to ring again 🙄 and probably never get through 🙈

Jay53 · 26/04/2023 06:52

@Minnie83
The lady did ask me but I wanted to go away and make sure I had everything written down as it's so easy to forget when put on the spot. I believe you can do it over the phone anyway. I do need to call back and ask again as I want to make sure I've covered every point. 😩

Mummy2fivegirls · 26/04/2023 07:34

@Jay53 definitely fight for what you believe your child is entitled too, the whole DLA process is so stressful my scan date is 10/2 and still not heard anything but I'm getting myself prepared for the worse as I have seen so many people have to fight for their child! I hope you get it sorted and get what your child is entitled too.

Minnie83 · 26/04/2023 10:03

@Mumto2sengirlsxx I just got through and they told me I decision should be made within the next 3 weeks 🥳

Mummy2fivegirls · 26/04/2023 10:26

@Minnie83 Fingers crossed for you x

Mummy2fivegirls · 26/04/2023 13:46

If anyone scan date is around 10/2 I have Just rang and got told to expect a decision round the 3rd week of May, if that helps anyone 😊

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 26/04/2023 15:21

@Minnie83 yea that makes sense cause i called around 2 weeks ago and they said 5 weeks to me then... ive recieved the "sorry were still looking at your claim" letter and text message so the joys of getting numerous of them now until theirs a decision. Im so nervous i have this overwhelming feeling that my daughter will be rejected but hey ho ill deal with that when it comes too it xx

Minnie83 · 26/04/2023 16:07

@Mumto2sengirlsxx the wait is so stressful 😫 I'm hope I don't have to battle with them.

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 26/04/2023 16:15

@Minnie83 it really is... i hope everything goes well for you sweet! Keep me updated...

confusedofengland · 26/04/2023 17:37

Got my decision today! Mid rate care, low rate mobility (Autism & ADHD, just turned 12 year old DS). For 5 years, from 8th April. £95 per week.

Was expecting to wait a lot longer as they said they received my form at end of February, I think.

Tbf he has lots of evidence including full EHCP, recent diagnoses etc. Plus last award ran out on 7th April.

So relieved.

confusedofengland · 27/04/2023 10:02

Also - how do I know when I'm likely to get the money & how much I will get?
I got £258 on 11th April, which I gather was to take me to the end of the year. My letter said I would get more from 12th April but nothing yet. So not quite sure what amount I should expect when!

Minnie83 · 27/04/2023 13:11

10th of May isn't it? 4 weeks from your last payment.

confusedofengland · 27/04/2023 13:16

Ah thank you, that makes sense 😊

confusedofengland · 27/04/2023 13:17

I hope your case goes well too & you hear soon.

Jaffacakesrlife · 28/04/2023 10:32

Hi all,
My DD renewal ends next Tuesday. My scan date was 9/01. I called beginning of the week was cut off 3 times (que to full) before holding for an hour finally got through. They wont look at renewals until a day or so before. They are on strike today and I needed to take bank holidays into consideration. I had to send off some more information (recorded delivery) they photo was a big box full of letters sent via recorded delivery. I'm hoping they scan my evidence in time. Does anyone know if they backdate renewals to the date the original claim ended?
x

Jam291 · 28/04/2023 10:56

Hi all, again.

When you say scan date… is that the letter you got from them to say they have received your paperwork or am I waiting for another letter to say they have scanned it?

🤞🏽 to all xx

Jaffacakesrlife · 28/04/2023 11:12

Hi, my understanding is when they get your forms they then scan them onto the system then send you a letter to say they have received it. x
