My case manager once told me that anything to do with payments etc goes through that option and only use report a change, if you want the whole award looking at again. I don't know why he's told y different but if I'm awarded I will just be sending msg through payment option

I think all staff are just as capable/incapable as each other so hard to know who would be the one to believe. I sent a message direct to my case manager the same day I made the other changes through the 'report a change' and he messaged back saying:

Once we verify the DLA, we can look at backdating the element and correcting all else on the statement

So all bases are covered as far as I'm aware X

Minnie83 · 21/06/2023 21:36

Yeah they tell everyone different things, idiots

Lollypops88 · 22/06/2023 08:33

Uc didnt take long at all to back pay after i got the carers which was granted the day after i applyied for it, the uc even came through before the carers pay did and just so everyone knows they cant benifit cap if you have a child on dla !!! And the baxk pay will be put on previous awards if you get me took a while for me to understand because i thought i would owe them rarther than they owe me

@Lollypops88 correct I'm not to sure about how carers works tbh that completely confuses my head

Lollypops88 · 22/06/2023 09:33

So carers is 76 a week u can get that if your middle/high care, and then uc have a carers element which is 180 something a month however like u im not completly sure how it all works but if u receive carers, and work u cant earn more than 134 a week if u dont work uc will not expsect u too as its classed as a job and u can only claim carers for one child per adult so where reality is i have two childeren that have special needs i can only claim for 1 when reality is care for them both 🙄 but it is what it is ❤

Minnie83 · 22/06/2023 10:00

@Lollypops88 I get lwrca for myself so I don't think I can claim carers anyway I will have to speak to them once they sort decision

Lollypops88 · 22/06/2023 10:07

Yes some one said on here that they couldnt get it if they claimed for them selves or another adult that i dont no about

I was wondering this same thing about Lwrca, as I know the carers element is removed/not added with UC, but I can't seem to get clarity from gov/benefit websites about how it impacts carers allowance.

Minnie83 · 22/06/2023 10:32

So can my older daughter claim carers for younger sister ?

Jam291 · 22/06/2023 13:39

Hi all,

I’m hoping our claim is through soon we are also March - for those that have had DLA phone them…did it come through on a withheld number?

Hood1991 · 22/06/2023 14:07

@Jam291 they do phone you on a withheld number.

Lollypops88 · 22/06/2023 14:12

@Minnie83 i think she may be able to but her name would prob have to be down on the dla form and over 18 but dont quote me on that i would try and speak to maybe citizens advice or theres advice lines for kids with disserbilities they may be able to anwser that one better

Hi lollypops88 what was you awarded if you don't mind me asking and when you say uc was faster did they backdate the disability element for you. Also how long did they take for you? I'm unsure what I'm entitled too my daughter was awarded medium rate care. Thanks (sorry if i sound cheeky).

Lollypops88 · 22/06/2023 14:42

Hi @Pk12 i was awarded medium care and low mobility for my son, it took 19 weeks because they sent off to the doctors, as some of the mums no i didnt no my son was entitled to anything till he got into special provision secondary, u can get carers on medium rate but read the eligibility because if you work and things they say u can only earn a certain amount, if your little beauty needs equipment or other things look at the family fund and fill in a application of any needs on there also and see what your local council offer to childeren with disserbilities as well
Hope that helps

Lollypops88 · 22/06/2023 14:43

@Pk12 uc where really quick with processing my back pay after i put on there that i applyied for carers allowence, i put that my son got dla on there and nothing happened untill i did the carers

That's awful. I have made the change on my universal credit nobody has got back to me yet. I don't think I can get carers. What disability premium was you awarded if you don't mind me asking the higher one or the lower one which is 146 something I think. Thanks

Lollypops88 · 22/06/2023 15:24

@Pk12 i dont no what a diserbility premium is 🤣

Lollypops88 · 22/06/2023 15:57

I didnt no there was different ones mine is 186 a month from what i can see wow that complicates it even more i just thought it was 1 rate i dont think they give u extra unless u have carers tho but i may be wrong

Sweetsweetlike1 · 22/06/2023 16:03

Hi, just an update on my claim. Scan date 09/03, rang up 1.5 hour wait time, our claim is currently with a DM and he said we will most likely know today or tomorrow the outcome.

Minnie83 · 22/06/2023 16:17

As I said previously the higher disabled child element is 456 if you receive hrc dla

Minnie83 · 22/06/2023 16:18

Otherwise it's 146 a month for mrc

Minnie83 · 22/06/2023 16:21

@Sweetsweetlike1 know she's 16 and just left school
