How long were you together before you had children?

How many did you have?
What were the age gaps? Are you done yet? Just out of utter nosiness! I'm in my early 30s, have a three year old, not with his dad, want more but all depends on meeting the right person...

DD was born just after our 19th wedding anniversary (infertility issues)

We met in 2015 when we were 28 (DH) and 30 (me). Engaged 2017, married summer 2018, DS arrived in Feb 2020.

Together for four years. Had first child at 31 and second at 33. They are 21 months apart.

7 years from meeting until Ds1 then a 3 years later Ds2.

Had DS just over 2 years after getting married (27 and 24 when DS was born). Going to start trying for #2 in May so will be at least a 7 year gap.

Met in November 2004, had first child April 2007.

10 years with my 1st but we were together from a young age and 3 years with my 2nd (with a different partner) my experience is that it either works or it doesn’t having a child changes your relationship so much - so have to go into it with the realisation you may end up doing it on your own.

Together 10 years before having ds. Had DD 3 years later at which point I was 36 and dh 38.

We were together for 18 years before having DD at 38 (through choice, not fertility issues)

6 years and had our first almost a year ago

We met when I was 23 and I had DD1 at 29 and DD2 at 33. We bought a house and got married first also.

Together for nine years, then engaged.
Married the following year aged 29, first DC aged 30 and second aged 33.

Together for 4 years before we got married then had our first child 2 years after that, now pregnant with our second and have been together 14 years

Met at 19. Miscarriage at 21. Married 24. DD1 25. DD2 26.
(The miscarriage was not a planned pregnancy we were definitely not ready. But we still grieved).
So six years meeting to first baby being born.
35 now. Not planning anymore children.

Together for 6 years before I became pregnant with DC1.

Celebrated our one year anniversary the same month as our daughter was born! Total accident and wouldn’t necessarily recommend it but worked ok for us :) Only one so far, she’s nearly 4

20 years.

Meet 2013, engaged 2015, married 2017, ds 1 born 2019 turned 30 a month after ds2 born 2021

We were together for two years and about 7 months before we met our daughter, as I already have a little one we have decided two is the right number for us.

Oh & we have now been together 23yrs.

DH and I will both be 36 this summer.
Been together - 8 years this year
Married for 5 years in July
DD1 just turned 2
DD2 due in April

(Known each other since we were 16)

Together 9 years
Married 4 ( fertility issues) for the 1st married 7 years for the second.
I'm sure we are now done although I would love a third I'm not sure we could afford another until the eldest starts school and by then I will be 40.

So interesting thanks all for sharing! Forgot to say, was with my ex 3 years before I had my son. Thought people would have been together for less time I general.
