How long were you together before you had children?

How many did you have?
What were the age gaps? Are you done yet? Just out of utter nosiness! I'm in my early 30s, have a three year old, not with his dad, want more but all depends on meeting the right person...

Definitely done, even if I wasn't too old, DS 10 has ADHD and is utterly exhausting!

4 1/2 years but had been trying 2 years when eldest was born. Ages 15, 13 and 10. I turn 40 late this year and eldest 16 so definitely done.

Wow , most people seem to take some time we started trying after 11 months of being together.
But we each had big houses, high up careers, him 40 yo me 33. So guess there was no reason to wait :)

We met in 1991 I was 18 and he was 20.
Got pregnant 6 months in but had a MC.
Had D's 1 in 95,D's 2 in 96.
There's 12 months and 3 weeks between them

Had a couple more MCs,then D's 3 came along in 2008,D's 4 came along in 2009.
And D's 5 came along in 2011.
So there's a 16 year age gap between youngest and eldest.
Got sterilised soon after.
Still together 31 years later.
And now we have 2 beautiful GS as well.

Together 4 years before getting married and ttc. 5 years and one round of ivf later our DTs were born, so 9 years in total.

Up until the kids turned 2 I was desperate for more babies, but 2-4 has been awful so I think (for the most part!) I’m done.

Ten years (fertility issues.)

Met 2002, first kid 2006, second kid 2009, third kid 2015. Vasectomy 2017! Still together, definitely no more children.

Met at 16, officially together at 22, first baby at 29 and we'd been married for 2 years at that point. Plan to have another baby next year 😊

Together about eleven months before DS arrived 😅 Been together ten years now, married for eight. We had both returned from living abroad specifically to find The One and start a family. We got very lucky.

dated 3 years, then lived together for a further 10 years.

1 ds when I was 35 (married at registry office when pg). Tried for 2nd a couple of years later but it never happened.

There were family issues that prevented us living together sooner, we were probably in the right place maturity and commitment wise after we had lived together 2-3 years and in our late 20s, but it wasn't financially viable at that point.

We both would have loved a 2nd, but if we had our time again we would still have waited until we had all our ducks in a row.

DS due in May when we will be 33 and 36

We’ll have known each other 10 years this October so I think that’s a pretty neat decade wrap up - two kids, a marriage and a mortgage!

Will have to find something to fill the following decade (definitely no more kids though!!)

Together 4 years when DD1 came along. We were 28. DD2 came along 3 years later. We’ve been together 8 years now. Married for just over a year.

Met at 17&18 married at 26 had my first at 28 ( would have been 29 if he wasn't two months premmie) second 31 and were are definitely done.

I am 38 now so probably done but I always wanted one more - would be 20+ years between first and last if we did though!!

Together for 6 years before having DD1 and then had DD2 3 years later. Definitely done!

Together 10 years for 1st and 12 years for 2nd. No more on the cards.

DD1 born 18 months after our 1st date. Married 4 months later. Now 18 years later and 2 more DC. No more planned!

Together 10 years before our first DD arrived in 2017. DD2 born September 2021 ☺️ I was 17 and he was 31 (I’m now the age my OH was when we met 😅). We’ve been engaged since I was 21. We’ve been together for 15 years in May.

We'd been together 13 months when we found out I was pregnant. Almost 18 years together, married 12. Now have 6 kids, 16, 11, 9, 6 (twins) & 5mth. We're 37 & 35, he wants another boy (I don't fancy his chances as we have 5 girls and 1 lonely boy).

We met in 2008 when ds1 was only a tiny baby. We then had dd when ds1 was 2yrs 4months. Dh and I had been together about 2 years. Then we had ds2 almost 4 years later.

Together just over 10 years when I got pregnant with my successful pregnancy. It would have been 8 years but it took us a long time to conceive and I had a mc. Just have 1 DC, as we're both older.
