how old were you when you had children?

I'm turning 31 this year, newly single and childless. My ex and I were engaged and planning on trying for a baby this year but we called things off after admitting we were no longer in love. I would love to be a mum but I'm worried as time is ticking and all but 1 of my gfs have at least one LO. What's your story?

I met my now hubby online dating after just turning 31. Had first baby at 34 and second at 36.

Met at 30, married at 32, child at 33.

However, I have a number of friends who are still having children, and we're all between 36-38 now.

31 is still young these days. Meet someone and settle down in the next couple of years, you could easily be having your first at 34/35. Plenty of time for another one after that if you want.

It sounds like you made the right choice. Try not to feel the fear!

I don't have kids but my mum had me at 40, so you have plenty of time

Where I moved to though after I had my DC is much more middle-class than where I moved from and it’s more the thing here to have kids when you’re older.
31 is still really young I think.

Married at 39, close to 40. Pregnant at 40, baby born at just 41. Second baby at 43.
I got pregnant very quickly and easily.

I met my husband at 28, married him at 31 and had my children at 36 and 38.

Got pregnant with the first in the third month of trying. The second took a little longer than I would have liked, which I put down to the fact that my toddler wasn't sleeping well so I was permanently exhausted. As soon as she started sleeping better, at 18 months, I got pregnant again.

Met DH at 27 and had dc1 at 30 and due with dc2 at 32. I know lots of women who say I've had them young though as they had theirs late 30s early 40s. But then my mum thinks I'm really old as she had me and my sibling very early 20s!

Met my DH at 34, married at 38, 1st baby at 39 and 2nd baby at 41. You have lots of time.

37. None of my friends had a child before 32.

I'm 30 and newly pregnant. Been with my husband since we were teenagers but we decided we wanted to wait until our 30s as we wanted to have our time by ourselves, but most importantly we wanted to be financially secure before having a family. We are now at a point that our mortgage is mostly paid off so decided the time is right for us now.
I think at 31 you still have lots of time.

Before I met my partner I wasn’t sure that even want kids. I was very much happy childless and just enjoying my life. Kids wasn’t in my plan anytime soon even when I was over 30 already.
And then I met him - and literally within a week I knew that I wanted to have kids with him.
We just waited 3 years ( basically because of me, I just needed to be ready READY mentally.)

30 and 32. I don't know anyone in my friendship circle who had kids any younger than 30.

18 and 31

Met husband at University, married at 23, babies at 25, 26, 28 and30.

24 with first and 27 with second. Doubt we will have any more but if we do I'd be at least 31 if not older as need to do my professional training first.

Almost all my other parent friends didn't have their first until at least their mid 30s.

32, 35, 39

I had my first kid at 37 after knowing DH more than 10 years. Wanted another one but I’m 44 now and DH doesn’t want another one

Met DH aged 34, married aged 37, had DD age 40

37 with my first. You've loads of time. Didn't meet my DH until I was early thirties.

I know there's a stigma about being a teenage mum but I definitely found that pregnancy and early years the easiest.
