Didn't have a good day at nursery yesterday. 3 accidents and nothing in the potty. The potty there is really small though so he's off today with our potty from home. I just need to make sure I remember to take the potty home when I pick ds up this afternoon!

Off to a flying start today, feel like we have turned a corner - so far no accidents and everything in the toilet.

DD woke in the middle of the night and wanted to come into bad with Mummy and Daddy - so she came in and slept between us. This morning she woke at 7.30, put her arms round me gave me a big hug and said I want wee wee. So we got up and went downstairs, took nappy off - and not only did we get a super wee - but we also got a lovely poo as well!

After a couple of hours asked dd to sit on toilet and she did a wee, then a couple of hours later we had the same result, then after dinner I asked her to sit on the toilet before nap time and she did a wee and a poo again! Then we got down and she said another wee wee - and actually it was another poo - but its her trigger word to get to the toilet - so not fussed on semantics right now.

So far today - 1 pair of pants - which she is now wearing over her nappy to prove that she still is a big girl even while she naps. Fingers crossed for a similar afternoon - so much more relaxed all round!! I think things may have sunk in for her. Perhaps! Stickers work well as a reminder of how well she is doing - we reserve big stickers for both wee and poo and put a special little sticker when she asks to go!!

so proud of my little clever button!

Glad to hear your DD is doing so well Broadie.
I just went out and bought more pants and another pair of trousers for DS! I'm hoping he's having a better day at nursery today though.

littleboo · 17/08/2007 14:58

broadie that sounds great you must be really proud of her.
we're doing ok here, several poos on potty.
been out again, with trusty travel potty, had wee sitting in footwell of car ( on potty) befors coming home so no accidents.
Also feeling more relaxed about it all.

My ds is drinking more today though so am somewhat concerned what may happen today..... will have to wait and see.
MrsCoops.... it is difficult at nursery as I'm sure they just get so involved and the staff don't rmind them as much as we would do.

just got to quickly catch up.
yesterday at the farm park went well, only 2 accidents whilst we were there. today was a disaster. I was at my mums most of the day and getting him to wee on his potty has been a battle all day, we had 3 accidents and ran out of clothes and ended up with him back in a nappy...feel very deflated and thinking of giving up. whenever i ask him he says no, and i have to bribe him to sit on his potty
Today we filled it with stones and called it a 'water feature' just to try and make it more appealing...it worked for one wee, but then he lost interest again... not sure whether to wait a bit and try again in a few weeks.

littleboo · 17/08/2007 17:48

mabel, thats exactly how I felt after Wednesday, BUT started again on thursday and had a brilliant day...... if you can keep going. I think as the week goes on they lose interest and so do we.
Try and keep going if you can, we're all in this together!!

Had a brilliant day here, 1 pair of knickers lasted all day!

We went shopping and I got her to wee on the toilet in Asda as we'd just bought a little seat, (she still had a dry nappy after 1.5 hours!) then when we got home she'd only done a tiny bit of wee in her nappy. Then she was good all afternoon before having a nappy on at bedtime.

I'm so pleased with her, she's done so well in only 4 days, I think something clicked yesterday afternoon as she's been very good since then.

MoosMa · 17/08/2007 19:14

Good luck to everybody tomorrow....

mare · 17/08/2007 20:53

Well done to everybody's little ones!

We had a FAB day here. Not once single accident all day. Even went to Waitrose this morning and out all afternoon for a walk. Had a wee at Waitrose in the loo when we arrived.

Hadn't done a poo yet all day but didn;t want to resort to a nappy so took spare pants, shorts socks and wipes with us in a plastic bag in case of smelly accident! NO accident. Stopped for a few wees on our way round the walk - on cow pats were the favaourite place. Luky boys being able to whip it out anywhere!

Poo on the loo after supper.

It's been just over a week! The weeing part is now 100% cracked. Hoping for a good poo day again tomorrow!

chocbiscuits · 17/08/2007 22:38

Hello!
Brilliant with wees today even managed to wee in the travel potty at the park loo (not very posh facility-wise). Originally he turned up his nose at travel pot so tried the toilet, but he didn't go for that, ran out again, but was clearly crossing his legs in trouble, eventually went for travel pot very bravely.

Afternoon poo in pants (we are not really getting anywhere with that). erk.
Then we went to view a house this evening but decided to use pull-up as would be bad if he weed on some new carpet. Felt very guilty as i couldn't make it in time for him what with getting the car keys off dh, asking the lady if he could go in the bathroom, getting the bag out the car and assembling the travel potty. Was too late. Got back with the bag to discover Ds with legs crossed at top of stairs and it was all over.
Felt really like a meanie. boo.

chocbiscuits · 17/08/2007 23:05

Any suggestions about the poo situation?

Broadie · 18/08/2007 11:25

Hiya everyone - couldn't check in yesterday evening as laying a new tile floor in cloakroom and needed to grout and also repaint bathroom when dd in bed.

So yesterday afternoon very much like yesterday morning - everything in toilet - and no accidents - so only 1 pair of pants all day and totally clean. In addition after nap at lunchtime her nappy was still bone dry.

This morning so far has been exactly the same totally accident free and everything in the toilet.

We ask her throughout the morning if she needs a wee - and if we get to 2 hours then we suggest she comes and sits on the toilet to see if there is anything to come out. Normally she is able to do something.

So I think we may have cracked it - so far so good!! hurrah!

We did have reservations at the start - wondered if she was too young - but I trusted my instincts that she was and it paid off.

Really pleased as its reduced my washing down to one nappy wash a week now.

so proud of her.

Today isn't going so well here, on the 5th pair of knickers already.

I don't think she's drunk much over the last couple of days so she's making up for it today and is doing huge wees about every 15 minutes! She's only ben doing little bits of wee in her knickers then stopping though so I think the theory's still there.

littleboo · 18/08/2007 18:00

great day here today as well, i've been at work and dh been at home with children. we've all been out this pm and a few wees on travel potty, is doing really well, also glad I continued.
Now in nappy ready for bed as really tired.

OP posts:
Broadie · 18/08/2007 18:51

oops spoke too soon!

On the whole another brilliant day - but a couple of small accidents which means that although dd can go to the toilet for me on demand when I put her on the loo, she is not responding to going to the toilet herself when the urge takes her. Its good to know and it will come in time i'm sure of that!

9 times out of 10 she will do either a wee or a poo when I suggest it would be a good time to go on the toilet - and its pretty fast as well - we normally can get a result inside a minute now.

I tend to ask her to go every 2 hours - but an hour after her last visit she wet herself and it was just after I asked her if she wanted to go for a pee as I knew she'd had alot to drink.

She said no - but then wet herself - a bit frustrating - but alas I can't be happier with the progress she has made. I'm sure it will all sort itself out!

Broadie we had a "no" followed 10 seconds later by a wee not in the potty

It's been a terrible day here, she's had 7 accidents, one of them a poo on the living room carpet I'm trying so hard not to get cross, but she did so well yesterday and it seems like such a backwards step today.

She did drink an awful lot today and seemed tired and has been cooped up indoors all day which she hates, so I will put it down as a bad day and continue again tomorrow.

Hope all is well elsewhere...

littleboo · 18/08/2007 19:39

moosma, that was just like us, thought we were getting somewhere and then went backwards, but I think we just all have to keep trying
goodnight from littleboos potty land

Oh Dear, The one poo of the day was in his pants out at 'Jamboray' today. Might have ben OK if we had been at home but we have builders in and needed to get out of their way. Probably far too much else to be doing at jamboray. After all, who wants to do a poo in the loo when there are slides to be slid down!!Wees still 100% on target though!

littleboo · 18/08/2007 19:45

marge2, I think thats it, everything else is far to exciting to be bothered with going to toilet, guess they will get it at some time.

sunrays · 18/08/2007 20:27

reading all these posts i would love to give it a go with dd 2.3. BUT.....she is such a feisty one, it's such a struggle just to get her dressed etc, just think she'll refuse to use potty or have a strop when nagged

chocbiscuits · 18/08/2007 21:49

Pretty good day today, a small wee incident in the am but otherwise all clear and the travel potty got used twice.
About 3pm he asked for a wee and we went upstairs and got undressed but then went off the idea. Spent quite a bit of time jumping on the bed! Then suddenly with THAT face on said 'mummy...'. Poop was on the way so I grabbed him and popped him on the potty in the bathroom. He was absolutely petrified about the whole poo in the potty thing and was shaking. Gave him lots of encouragementy cuddles and pats on the back. Poop ended up in potty which was entirely preferable to the bed!!! Much celebration!!!!
He then went downstairs to tell daddy about it but despite having seemed to have finished - was still at it and unbeknownst to me then produced more poop on the stairs. OH NO. Dh then turned up and did about the worst thing he could do which was bellow at the top of his lungs 'URHG! YUK! A POO ON THE STAIRS QUICK HELP' whereupon poor Ds dissolved into frightened screams. Gathered him up and dealt with the scare whilst Dh (deservedly) cleaned the stairs...
Poor little Ds though he was really frightened about it, am hoping he's going to be more sorted about it now (despite Dh's yells). Ds said to me 'Didnt come out of a willy' (aaaaah). Seemed frightened of the whole process...

MoosMa · 18/08/2007 22:17

Sunrays, perhaps you can start planting the idea in her head so that it then becomes her idea IYSWIM? I bought DD some knickers a few weeks ago and she got them out of her drawer occasionally, so I told her she could wear them when she was older, now she really wants to as it means she's a big girl!

That the theory anyway.....

sunrays · 18/08/2007 22:20

good thought moosma. will give it a go

littleboo · 19/08/2007 18:44

Not as good here today, but never mind, nearly bedtime in littleboo's house, so try again tomorrow.
