Yes, I know I was upset about ds4 not being a girl but I found out so I could get it straight in my head. I knew I wouldn't feel sad for long and I didn't but it really comes up such a lot on here.
I don't think I have ever seen a thread when someone is dissappointed with the sex and its a girl.
Ever, not in over 4 years as a MNer.

my 3 boys are great. Very cuddly and good company. I don't look at them and think 'they are boys', because I think 'they are my children', as any mother does.
I think boys are easier as they grow up, as not so moody and argumentative with hormones! It really doesn't bother me at all to have boys, and I hope our good relationship stays as it is now.

With my first baby, I wanted a boy. I don't know if I would actually have been disappointed with a girl once she had been born (it was a boy), but a boy was what I imagined when I imagined myself with a child.

With my second child, I didn't mind at all.

Peachy · 30/06/2007 14:40

When I announced I wasexpecting ds3 the daft cow next to me said 'If I had a boy I'd shove him back up there'.

I bet she wouldn't really, would she?

All things being equal if we manage no 4 I wold choose aboy. All things aen't equal so in some ways a girl would be a bit of a blessing as theya re less likely to develop ASD (already haeving 1 dx'd and one suspected of having it). That's it though, otherwise I love boys. I am a tomboy anyway mind you- even if we had a girl I still wouldn't do barnie and that stuff, never did.

OMG someone actually said that peachy

she must have been joking

Peachy · 30/06/2007 14:46

Nah she was just very, very daft (and young- 16)

sparklesandwine · 30/06/2007 14:47

so are you trying for number 4 then peachy?

MrsFish · 30/06/2007 14:51

I can't wait to meet my ds2 - had a 3d scan this morning which has made it all the more real, pic on profile

IndigoMoon · 30/06/2007 14:56

dd is my eldest, i was sure she was a girl and hey presto she was. we are very similar, i can say this even at four. we are both feisty and a tad stroppy and over dramatic so roll on the teenage years - ha ha

when i was pregnant with ds part of me wanted a boy cos nice balance and then part of me wanted a girl cos i knew where i was with a girl.

as it was it was ds and i have found him much harder work than dd and not sure if that is gender related though everyone thinks it is.

he is a lovely little flirt but likes a lot of fuss.

i like the fact it takes the pressure off if ever i was to have another one (not sure how likely that is)

Peachy · 30/06/2007 15:17

Trying Sp[rakle, not getting vey far (at least partly linked to a Dh who is at work in the evenings though!)

Enid · 30/06/2007 15:19

lol @ 'she must have been joking'

erm yes I would think so

sparklesandwine · 30/06/2007 15:20

i'm sure you'll manage peachy there's always mornings and afternoons

dp keeps trying to convince me on number 5 so maybe i'll see you on a ttc thread

you wouldn't have dino

Peachy · 30/06/2007 15:23

LOL Enid

Sprakle I keep hiding from TTc threads- they make me obsessive! If it happens it will happen!. Can't try next month as would clash with my finals at Uni (see? see how my obsessive tendencies take over? LOL)

izzybiz · 30/06/2007 15:23

I have one of each.
Ds is 14 and Dd is 3. I have been thinking that I would maybe like another and I would love another boy.
I love little boys, they are so lovely more cuddly, and seem to need you for longer iykwim!

I have two dss and part of me would have liked to experience having a dd as well, but, you love them for themselves not their gender.

Enid · 30/06/2007 15:25

I love little boys and would love to have one

but three girls is utterly cool and obv they are all so different so impossible to stereotype

sparklesandwine · 30/06/2007 15:25

enid i was refering to the attitude towards a boy rather than the physical possibility

Enid · 30/06/2007 15:27

it is the pinnacle of smug mothering when you have three pretty little girls behaving impeccably in cafes

other than that there's all the same angst that comes with boys I expect

meandmyflyingmachine · 30/06/2007 15:29

Ah now my ds behaves perfectly in cafes while dd goes on the rampage. But she is pretty...

Enid · 30/06/2007 15:30

ah no that doesnt count

you need at least three behaving themselves all at the same time to gain the smug points

meandmyflyingmachine · 30/06/2007 15:33

Never gonna happen...

sparklesandwine · 30/06/2007 15:33

lol know what you mean enid i usually have 3 behaving at the same time but the other one normally plays up (DS2 )
