Hi there,

Any other mums over 40 out there? I am 42 and my ds is 8 months old. Would dearly love to hear others experiences.

Hello!

I will be 44 this year and have 2 children , dd 5.9 and ds who will be 3 next month - and I have been permanently knackered for oooh, about the last 3 and a bit years .

There's quite a few of us late starters on MN!

wanderingstar · 23/01/2007 18:32

Well I didn't give birth at 40+, but had no.4 at 39. All pregnancies on the easy side, apart from extreme tiredness during no.4, but that was probably more to do with moving house at 7.5m and living among rubble until about a week before he was born...
Also noticed this time around that although the babyweight came off really quickly as per usual - no don't shoot me - I was left with a lovely muffin top which I'm only NOW getting rid of after 3 years and a new gym membership as of this month !

Hi Folly

I will be 45 this year and have DS1 who is 6 and DS2 who is 22 months.

Consider myself young at heart, but somedays the mind is more willing than the body

jabberwocky · 23/01/2007 18:51

I was 38 when ds1 (3.4) was born and 41 w/ ds2 (8 weeks). The pregnancy seemed a bit harder this time but was bad with ds1 as well!

suedonim · 23/01/2007 20:29

I have a 10yo and am in my 50's I've also got three older dc.

fizzbuzz · 23/01/2007 20:41

Yep, me too. Have ds age 13, and dd age 6 1/2 months, and was 43 in Nov. Cannot believe I am 43

Gingerbear · 23/01/2007 20:47

I had DD when I was 38, and am pregnant with no2 at 43.
I am knackered at the mo!

DH and I joke that we will have to work until we are 75 to put the kids through Uni.

motherinferior · 23/01/2007 20:47

I had DD1 at 37, and DD2 two weeks after my 40th birthday. I'm now 43.

motherinferior · 23/01/2007 20:48

Gingerbear, congratulations!

No, no, no, must not have any more babies...

Aloha · 23/01/2007 20:48

Had ds at 38 an dd at 41. Am 43. Don't feel old really. A bit knackered and withered sometimes, but not old. Pregnancy was very easy actually. No sickness or anything.

Seem to be throwing my age around on lots of threads tonight but had dd at 37, ds1 at 39 and ds2 at 41.

madness · 23/01/2007 21:02

Had no 3 at 42y and delivery itself was the easiest, but no, can't go on.

Mog · 23/01/2007 21:02

Sad thing is 37 sounds quite young to me now.

fizzbuzz · 23/01/2007 21:31

Aloha, knackered and withered! LOL Refuse to think of myself as withered but deffo knackered all the time!

auntymandy · 23/01/2007 21:32

I am 41 and expecting no6 at the end of june

auntymandy · 23/01/2007 21:33

I dont often think about my age!

lfm · 23/01/2007 21:45

I had DS1 when I was 36, DS2 at 38, DS 3 at 39 and am now considering having another. I am 41 at the moment and will be 42 when it is born. Cant quite decide if I am mad to think about it or not. I always said I wouldnt have another after 40 but I always wanted 4 and 2 miscarriages delayed me for a few years at the start. I cant imagine feeling too tired but worry more about not being around when the children are growing up and not seeing my grandchildren which is a selfish view I know.

bandstand · 23/01/2007 21:48

41 here, my ds is 12, dd9 and dd7... and much younger mn on here make me feel old...

bandstand · 23/01/2007 21:51

still think i could have another though, still broody, espeically after discovering mn, love toddlers.

fizzbuzz · 23/01/2007 21:52

Yes, especially those who have their year of birt incorporated into their usernames. Have seen 77 and 78 on here amongst others. makes me feel v old.

Haven't seen a 91 yet, God Forbid!

fizzbuzz · 23/01/2007 21:53

birth even....

bandstand · 23/01/2007 21:54

ooh not, havent seen that! (dob)
