Toddler descriptions

DD is 20 months old. I'm finding her descriptions of things she doesn't recognise or have words for both adorable and very accurate. Highlights include the grippy spots on the bottom of the feet on her sleep suits being 'sparkly bubbles' and the piece of mustardy sandwich she stole from me tasting 'spiky'.

My absolute favourite though, came when we were out for a walk a couple of weeks ago and saw black lambs prancing around a field. I asked her is she knew what they were, she stared for a moment and happily announced they were dancing cats.

What have your toddlers come out with?

DS once described his baby sister, who had just started crawling and was getting into everything, as 'worser than a wolf'. It made me chuckle but he was so frustrated.

my dd used to call toes "foot fingers"

Ds2 used to say we were driving on the "George carriageway".

Two year old DS accidentally stuck his finger up my nose and commented 'ooh, a hedgehog'!!

I took the hint and borrowed DH's nose hair trimmer!

my 5yo stumped me this morning by asking where the Carbian Sea was.

Google showed me the Caribbean Sea....

Ds calls daisies "egg flowers" because they look like fried eggs. :).

DD told me the other day, "I love you all much mummy"

It would have been cuter if she hadn't just been told off...

DD2 tells me she is putting her shoes on her 'foots' which always makes me smile.
She spent ages staring at her very patient sisters face, went to get a towel and got very upset when 'the spotty spots' wouldn't rub off. They were freckles
One of the weather presenters on BBC news is 'the rainy man'. Only one though!

DD described my bra as 'boob glasses' recently.

And her toy alien as 'El-ee' (pronounced Ellie'). That caused some confusion when she first asked for it and we didn't know what (or who!) she was talking about!

It was actually me as a toddler but my mum constantly tells the story of hearing me screaming desperately from upstairs...

"mummy mummy mummy help I've got flies in my feet"

It was actually pins and needles. Its my earliest memory

When DD was a toddler she called me to come and see her "foof tongue" which turned out to be her labia minora .

DD calls my bra 'boob knickers'

Sothisishowitfeels - in Welsh the word for toes is bysedd traed which translated means foot fingers!

And gods teeth to describe white pebbles on the beach

The glow of the street lights in winter is the 'orange dark'. Love her!

When I was a toddler I described sideburns as 'ear beards'.

Stopped at a red light, there was an abandoned can of beer on a low wall beside the car window.

From the back seat I hear "oh look mama. Man's wine!"

My now 10 year old aged 2 used to describe his 'favourite moon' as a bandanna moon (crescent shape). When wearing shorts he told me they were his ' sunny trousers.'

DS used to call boobs elbows for some reason and complain that his dad's bead was "not really very pretty"

Some of these are so wonderfully descriptive. Ear-beard and orange dark make perfect sense to me!
