hunkermunker · 03/06/2006 15:09

No, no, meant they were well beyond nappies

LadyCodofCOdford · 03/06/2006 15:09

oh!!!! :)

MarsLady · 03/06/2006 15:23

peachy... DT2 has very little speech. If you've started then I think that you should just go for it.

The DTs are nakid in the garden.... hurrah! How nice to be able to say that it is warm enough for them to be naked in the garden Grin

Enjoying the sunshine. The barbie is about to be lit, french people are due to descend, wine is chilling in the fridge, meat is marinating in the fridge. Life is wonderful! Grin

Any wee will be in the garden and therefore will not count as misses lol

My money's on the boy too LadyCod Grin

Well DD did 4.5 wees in the potty today and loads of accidents. But got to be an improvement on yesterday. Thanks for the encouragement PoppyH. Also a poo in nappy this morning - expect one tomorrow too.

Am just so thankful for the weather - been outside all day with DD in knickers and t-shirt.

poppyh · 03/06/2006 22:40

Had a day at my mums. Took potty and DD used ALL DAY!!! Did wees and poos and didnt even ask!!Great!
Needed a wee on way home, and pulled over and did wee on potty whilst sitting in boot!!(Thank God for Scenics!)

LadyCodofCOdford · 03/06/2006 22:44

you see i PLANNED the weather for you all

MarsLady · 04/06/2006 09:35

Thank you LadyCod! lol

Well done Bozza and Poppyh. Fantastic progress there.

We managed a few potty fills yesterday. DT2 still prefers to whip his penis out and pee next to the potty, still he likes the dog sticker so I'm hoping that he fills the potty several times today.

DT1 just did a spectactular miss. She was hopping up and down so I sat her on the potty 3 times. Nothing! Then she ran off to give something to her big sis and suddenly she appeared in front of me again looking very shamefaced. She's had a huge wee by the dining table where big sis was eating breakfast. The upside is that she realised that she'd wee-ed in the wrong place and that she really tried to get back to the potty.

Can't remember if I told you but I cleared poo from the bedroom yesterday...sigh..........

Still.... today is another day (and one closer to playgroup where I get a break). Smile

MarsLady · 04/06/2006 11:36

Okay.... we are off to my bf's for a BBQ. Gulp! I am not packing any nappies. Just lots and lots of pants and trousers/skirts.

Then we are off to church (double gulp!)

Anyway... in for a penny and all that!

Will check in later. Smile

Enjoy the sun.

Hi Ladies, Haven't logged on for a bit. The weather has been fabulous, who wants to sit at the computer when it's so gorgeous outside?
Anyway, she has been dry for two days now. All day Friday and yesterday, I'm so proud and just now she went outside with her potty and did a humungus poo (I was expecting it in last nights nappy) and large wee.

My good, good girl Smile

I think we are both knackered, Boy! did she whinge yesterday.

So lucky with the weather, I am about to dash outside again now.

knat · 04/06/2006 13:19

Cod - ok my dd has been using potty for about 2 months an will do virtually all wees and some poos on it. However after 2 months of this and 3 months prior trying to get her accident free it is still at my instigation. She won't tell me if she needs the potty/toilet - any tips on how to get her to instigate ?? We're going on holiday next month and would love her to be at the stage of telling me by then (and using the toilet - i don't want much!!!) She will use the toilet occasionaly for wees and interestingly when she does use the toilet it's usually at her instigation and she does usually perform!

LadyCodofCOdford · 04/06/2006 15:05

no they seem to graps this wihtout you noticing iirc

MrsDoolittle · 04/06/2006 19:41

Okay, I think we can call ourselves dry. Hooray!!Smile
Dd has been able to wear the same pants that she put on in the morning and take them same ones off at night for 3 days now. Today was the first time that she napped for 2 hours and stayed dry too. She has also done 2 enormous poos today.
I am especially proud because I have to admit to getting a bit bored of the potty lark and had stpooed asking her to go. She took up the reins herself and has asked me each time to go herself.

Does this mean we are there now?

Whoever said that it just seems to 'click', is right.

MrsDoolittle · 04/06/2006 19:44

Errr obviously I lied! Blush
Today has been the only day she has worn the same pants through. She has had to change them on Friday and Saturday after her naps.

Bozza · 04/06/2006 20:08

Well today we had 1 poo and 3 wees on the potty. She went from 11 this morning through to bedtime in the same pair of knickers. Admittedly I put her in a nappy for her nap (cod will not be impressed) but it was dry so I saved it for bedtime. But this morning she was doing my head in. She's still not happy about going on the potty and I could tell she wanted to go because she was dancing but wouldn't perform. Then she kept doing the tiniest of dribbles in her pants (the sort DS wouldn't have even noticed at this stage) and insisting on clean ones. Fortunately she has 28 pairs. Blush

MarsLady · 04/06/2006 22:34

Well done ladies. It seems to be going well. I think that you can consider her dry MrsD. I hope to join you in that school of thought by the end of next week.

DT1 still manages to hold on to her wees, but does take herself off to her potty now (even though she misses sometimes). DT2 still laughing at me behind his hands, but I'm convinced that he will be dry in an instant.

Here's to next week. Smile

LadyCodofCOdford · 04/06/2006 22:36

well done mrs d and all
you se if YOu are determined it will work
we will give this htread aweek more

Bozza · 05/06/2006 12:54

Right I am having problems. DD is becoming resistant. What am I supposed to do? She has only had one accident (11.10 am) since getting up (7.30 am) but no wees on the potty. So obviously she has a fair amount of bladder control. But she has gone off sitting on the potty. I took her to the shop on the way back from school and bought 20 white mice. She knows she can have one if she does a wee on the potty. She keeps saying "sweetie". She is very reluctant to sit on the potty. Also she gets to the point where she needs to go and then gets very grumpy - clingy and crying until she finally does a wee. Reckon that stage was about 1.5 hours this morning.

MrsDoolittle · 05/06/2006 13:22

I had that Bozza and I wondered if I was putting her under too much pressure, so I just stopped asking her to wee in the potty. I just sighed heavily if she missed it. I was also getting bored Blush
During one of her tantrums because I refused a sweetie she sat down herself and did a huge wee. We were both delighted, phoned Daddy and she had her sweets. That seems to have been it for us.

Normsnockers · 05/06/2006 13:26

Cod any suggestions for getting ds to poo in toilet and not in pants or am I doomed to removing turds from Thomas the Tnak Engine pants for many months to come ?

Offer of large new toy for successful poo in loo is not working nor is the offer of chocolate.

LadyCodofCOdford · 05/06/2006 14:37

standy him in the bath ( epmty and tell hsi to clear itup hmself)

mummydoc · 05/06/2006 15:42

Cod have you any advice on potty training my DH aged 38 ...DD2 20 months going great guns wees and occ poos on potty chair thing and toilet with seat, we do have to ask every 15 mins and usually the offer of a "treat" for a wee seems to work BUT my bl**dy DH can't be bothered and as soon as left in charge sticks a nappy back on her...fgs...the nanny/me/grandparents are all doing it why can't he...

Normsnockers · 05/06/2006 16:05

Mummydoc, remove and hide all nappies so DH cannot find and use them.

Worked for us !

Normsnockers · 05/06/2006 16:09

Cod, sounds like a lot of extra work, have to clean him all up then plus bath.

Am getting desperate though and all the books say not to make a big thing of it so will do only as a last resort.
Plus, I have horrid memories of my mum trying to humiliate me out of having the odd accident after I started school at 4 ys old so I'm a bit soft in this area as I hated it and still remember it but I still continued to have accidents when I was engrossed in something.

MarsLady · 05/06/2006 16:10

I hid all the nappies. In fact when I took the DTs to playgroup today i took back the bag with nappies in and replaced it with one full of pants and spare clothes.

DT2 didn't wee at all at playgroup... sigh... savig it for me.

DT1 wee-ed and poo-ed at playgroup, but not in the potty. Playgroup are fantastic, they cleared it up and will happily continue until the DTs are trained.

One major miss by DT1 this morning and 2 from DT2.

Will carry on regardless. Smile
