let me know how well the stickers go. Nothing here yet and the postman just gone, but there's always tomorrow! Grin

poppyh · 02/06/2006 11:56

Stickers working well.Much happier to sit on potty, and squeeze! Did a small poo, so ok at mo!!

MrsDoolittle · 02/06/2006 13:20

Only one wee this morning. She was outside with the potty, griseling because I was giving attention to ds - I was feeding him.
Anyway, she came in very chirpy to tell me she had done a wee in the potty. Lo and behold she had!

Nothing else to report, napping now.

Keep going everyone

Just cleared up little beast's poo from the garden sigh...........

poppyh · 02/06/2006 13:36

had just cleared up 4th wee of today, when there was a breakthrough.
DD said she felt a wee coming, and made it to the potty in time. The sticker in the potty has really helped and she loved seeing the picture magically appear!
Mars, at least it was the garden. DD pooed in hallway earlier to hide, and it got everywhere!!Grin

wanderingstar · 02/06/2006 14:10

I'm so excited ! Not even a week of training and ds3 stayed dry all morning at nursery - 2 wees and asked for the loo unprompted the second time.
Just emailed dh at work to tell him the news too !

Am I really sad ? I think I need to get out more...

MarsLady · 02/06/2006 14:22

No you're not sad....(well maybe just a little lol). That's why this thread is wonderful. We can shout and cheer for our little ones bowel movements without fear of reprisal.

poppyh · 02/06/2006 18:03

Well, im so pleased!after a bad morning, this afternoon DD has been jumping on and off the potty!5 wees in it and 2 poos!!Hurrah!!Grin
Cant believe how excited I sound!!Sad eh!!

LadyCodofCOdford · 02/06/2006 20:12

despite how you lot are feeling i htink you are at a totally normal stage in potty training

keep it up guys

lunavix · 02/06/2006 20:51

well done everyone who's weeing on the potty...

mixed day again. Started with ds not wanting to wee, then did a wee prompted on the potty, then all morning it was tiny dribbles and crying 'potty' and going and finishing, so doing okay. I think it's the pants, he can feel something against his skin so thinking it's a nappy starts going, then realises and stops. He did a mega wee in the pants just before lunch, no idea what prompted it when he was doing fine with a mix of starting and stopping, and just going and getting the potty and doing it himself. But yes, hid and did a huge wee then started grizzling lol.

Afternoon was in a nappy as we went to soft play and I know he's not at the toilet stage yet. Put him straight back in pants at home and he continued getting the potty and weeing on it. This evening, was sitting up here with dh and said 'potty' dh ran downstairs and sat him on the potty, ds got up and said no, walked over to me and did a huge poo on the floor Shock Angry needless to say we both gave him a bit of a telling off, plus took a sticker off the chart which he'd just filled.

He redeemed himself later to (re) complete the chart, and we whooped and congratulated with a thomas tank dvd. He seems to have got the message, when he fills the next sticker charts he'll get little trains, but we're going to start taking them off every time he has an accident so I imagine he won't fill them up that quick!

So today, one major wee and one major poo accident, 8 stickers but one taken off too, hence a completed sticker chart, one (wet) nappy and a thomas dvd.

Thank god he's going to grannys tomorrow. Although I can't be responsible for my actions if she sticks him in a nappy all day.

notsoladyjess · 02/06/2006 21:46

not been on laptop for a while now. been potty training ds1 for nearly 2 weeks now and going well. only get max 1 wee in pants per day really. he is very aware of when he needs to go (but i do still remind him a fair bit).
we take the potty out with us if we go out and it makes me laugh SO much to see him on the side of a road, sat on his potty with his spiderman pants by his ankles!
still have nappy at night. am going to give up his nap time nappy next week, i reckon.
cod - thanks for saying NOT to go back once you have started, it is just what i needed to stick with it. Was a bit like giving up fags, i knew that if i had one more i would be back on it!!

Bozza · 02/06/2006 22:13

Well I started DD today (because we only got back from holiday last night) and we have not had one success. She has got the idea but mentions it too late. I say "where does DD wee" and she says "potty". I say "where does DS wee" and she says "toilet" etc. And she did one on the potty (obviously a fluke looking back) in the hotel room and knew all about flushing it down the loo etc.

poppyh · 02/06/2006 22:44

Bozza, stick with it, this was my DD on Monday. Touch wood, by tonight, she had done numerous wees and 4 poos, (and that was just today!)

MarsLady · 03/06/2006 09:19

Very quick update.

DT1 did wees and a poo on her potty yesterday. DT2 still weeing on the ground. Problem is the boy loves being mucky and I wonder if this just pure joy for him. Sigh.............

Anyway, pressing on towards the goal.

Welcome those that have joined. Smile Well done the rest for continuing on Grin

Stickers arrived and in potty. So... she has a little star and he has a dog.

Oh and I don't think that I'm going to need to spare 2, so if someone wants them it's a fiver for the pair incl post which to be honest isn't much. Unopened. Grin

LadyCodofCOdford · 03/06/2006 13:51

oh good notso lady jess

hunkermunker · 03/06/2006 13:53

Still no joy at getting DS1 on the potty (even with bribing) - stubborn as a mule he is.

But he's saying "mess" in mournful tones when I change his nappy and he positively berates DS2 for poohing so won't be long. Might buy him pants.

Am getting strangely fascinated by the whole process. Am I weird? (rhetorical, please don't feel you have to answer this...!).

LadyCodofCOdford · 03/06/2006 13:54

leave it then
ds3 wodlnt go on for a while either
c an you go and visit a kid who is mariganlly older who deos use apotty?

hunkermunker · 03/06/2006 13:56

No, all children I know are either a fair bit older - fourish - or in nappies.

He's tended to take a while to do things in the past, then done them really well almost immediately so am hoping potty training's the same. Don't want to put him off the whole thing entirely and have him in nappies for another year though - this summer's the one!

MarsLady · 03/06/2006 14:23

Came in from the garden to give you all a progress report.

DT2 did a wee in his potty!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He loved the dog sticker that appeared.

DT1 has done a couple of wees in her potty and a couple have missed her potty.

I've cleaned up 2 poos sigh......... but we're still going in the right direction (I hope)

LadyCodofCOdford · 03/06/2006 14:43

FOUR year olds in nappies?
weird.

LadyCodofCOdford · 03/06/2006 14:44

my money is now on your son mars

peachyClair · 03/06/2006 14:56

Just started with DS3, really need to before he starts nursery as I know they won't be sympathetic. he'll try- sometimes- but last night FOUR wees on the carpet. So far only one small one (also yesterday) in potty. He'll strip himself down most days after wee-ing, but his speech isn't good, he could say potty if he wanted but won't. So don't know whether to push forwards (he's 3 next month btw) now, or not. The other 2 trained themselves at this age, but DS3 looks, and acts more like an 18 month old.

LadyCodofCOdford · 03/06/2006 14:57

are yo keeping ht potty near him?
