  1. this is for any kid over hte age of 2
  2. imo the best age ie 2 - 2.5
  3. there is NO going bakc
do not start if oyu are going ot poof out
  1. remmeber it is hard work - hence hte training - yes life will be more difficult for a couple of weeks
  2. do NOT use pull ups for day time naps or anythin short of a 2 hour journey
  3. night training is a wholey seperate issue

rofl flip!!!! lucky granny!!!!!
Must ask my mum if sh'd like this priviledge Grin

fuzzywuzzy · 09/04/2006 20:30

Oh we ring daddy, and dd tells him personally in a long rambly manner how she did a pooh in the toilet...for some reason dp finds this wonderful, I guess he must have a terribly boring job.

TopBanana · 09/04/2006 20:33

Lol Smile we'll have to try some of these!

I've tried all the coaxing in the world to get ds2 to poo on the potty/toilet. It's just not working. We even have a special treat jar which has gone untouched.

He also has a weird fastination with warming the potty or toilet seat. He'll pick the potty up and if the radiators are on, he'll hold it against for a minute or so. If they're not on, then he rubs it on his tummy to warm it.

My friend took him to the toilet at toddlers and said she felt like a loon when he asked her to the warm the seat. He showed her how he got a handful of bog roll and rubbed the seat to warm it. He's recently started stacking things to. Please tell me this is a ritual rather than OCD. Went through to much weird stuff with ds1.

TopBanana · 09/04/2006 20:42

Ahhh, he must have sat on it once and it was cold!! Think its normal, dd has a few weird rituals Smile

monkeytrousers · 09/04/2006 21:16

Wooden loo seats don't get cold - can you get wooden potties?

Pruni · 09/04/2006 21:21

Oh god. I so want to be in the Camp.
2.4, can wee on potty but not at will. And always denies poos (despite olfactory evidence).
Isn't it crucial that they do it at will?
I even bought pants int he sale, I have no excuses...

Pruni · 10/04/2006 08:48

oi cod
come and shout at us

alittlebitshy · 10/04/2006 10:07

day 1.
Mummy is bored.
dd has sat on poitty every half hour.
nothing, not even in knicks.
think she doesn't wee very often, so surely that is disadvantage as not as many chances to learn in a day.

boring. awful mummy.

and if and when it happens how does one clean a pooey potty?

alittlebitshy · 10/04/2006 10:27

wee on carpet
oops

fuzzlepelts · 10/04/2006 10:33

Count me in!! DD is almost 2.3 and LOVES the toilet and potty.
We started yesterday and had NO success - Just a lot of washing! She sits on potty loads and then looks and says "no wee wee". She's at nursery all week and thankfully they are behind me 100% (so far!) so off she went in her fairy knickers armed with a bag full of trousers, knickers and socks + spare shoes as on Sunday we went through 2 pairs of trainers and 2 pairs of wellies! At least wellies are easily to rinse out with dettox Smile

HellyBelly · 10/04/2006 10:46

Well we've had few hits and lots of misses (wees). Run out of pants - all hanging to dry - so willy is hanging out and mindees find it very amusing! Grin

Alittlebitshy - for cleaning potty I tip down toilet, rinse then wipe with tissue followed by anti-bac wipes. HTH :)

TopBanana · 10/04/2006 10:52

Dd refused to wee this morning. Kept putting her on the potty but nothing. Took her to nursery (told them I don't want her put in nappys under any circumstances) put her on the toilet there but still nothing.
Yesterday she held it in from 8 till 3 Shock

Heathcliffscathy · 10/04/2006 10:52

i'm in as of tomorrow (can spend week with ds and at home ish...)

gulp.

going to buy loo seats this pm.

alittlebitshy · 10/04/2006 10:56

this is cool. loving the support here!!!!!

how mnay pair of pants/knickers are you all living on? I think we have 20. is that ok?

TopBanana · 10/04/2006 10:59

I've got 20 too but 10 are at nursery!!
Dd got fed up of the pants yesterday and just had her top on. Much easier IMO Smile

melsy · 10/04/2006 11:27

1st day and Im in , but so far not great , 2 big gushes all over the floor , despite coaxing to potty.
DD 2.7 has spent the last fw mnths taking nappy off and being found on loo, but now I want her to go she doesnt want to get on or get on potty. Every time I ask (which I realise readong here I shudnt do, just put her on) , she says no potty. Its realy hard with a 23 week uncomfortable bump , all this crouching on floor cleaning up and doc says Im meant to be resting ha ha ha , but seems perfect timing in hols before nursury starts again.
DD has nothing on botty right now not going out till Thursday to crack it some how. Ive got treats for when she does it on potty , so she does keep sitting on there saying shes done something and asks for treats , typical huh !!!!

fuzzlepelts · 10/04/2006 11:29

Well, I just called nursery to see how it's going and she's had 3 accidents so far.. Apparently she's not saying when she needs to go just when it's too late. She's being taken to the toilet every half hour but no success as yet Sad

Kittypickle · 10/04/2006 11:32

I need to do this, DS is 2.7 and starting nursery a week tomorrow. Tried it last Saturday and wimped out after having a new water feature in living room. I had such a nightmare with DD who has dyspraxia and low muscle tone and only became reliable last summer age 6 that I have a mental block about this.

Will go and dig out scooby doo pants, get toilet seat and step now.

HellyBelly · 10/04/2006 11:38

I soooooooooooo need more pants!!! Only have 6 - WTF was I thinking Grin (well, it was a bit last min unplanned, sort of)

I need to get some more, I really do but what do I do???? I've been advised not to pop a nappy/pull up on for going out but I don't fancy having huge puddles to clear up in the shops etc. and I'm a childminder and today I have another toddler and baby so even more hard work than if just the 2 of us.

What do you think?..........

Stay in with willy out and pop out tonight?
Go out and get some (no pull up) and clear up messes as and when happen?
Go out with pull up and get some?

BTW, ds is normally a poo poo machine (quite often 3 a day) but I'm worried he's holding them in now because of training. Is this normal? So far he's had one malteser size poo in potty on Saturday, woke up Sunday morning with big poo (in pull up) and since then, a tiny pee size stuck to his bum Grin about 15 mins ago!

Is this holding in of poo normal????

TopBanana · 10/04/2006 11:56

I think dd is holding in poos. She had 1 when I put her nappy on to go to bed on saturday night and hasn't had one since.
I think I'd wait till tonight to go and get some pants. Wouldn't fancy cleaning up wee in a shop!!

alittlebitshy · 10/04/2006 12:03

I am getting so frustrated and more bad tempered by the minute.

only that 1 wee 2 hours ago. sta on potty every half an hour for a good length of time but nothing!!

Just want to see we're getting somewhere...

melsy · 10/04/2006 12:07

helly belly far from an expert me , but Id say free willy till this eve!!!

I need encouragment, dd has now done 4 big gushers, and gets upset when I suggest getting on potty, although the last gush upset her quite a bit, so may be it will help her connect and want to get on potty . ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHH this bending down to clean up is really hard right now.

TopBanana · 10/04/2006 12:14

Know how you feel melsy. I'm 18 weeks and also get uncomfortable bending down.
Glad mines at nursery.......

melsy · 10/04/2006 12:50

we nearly have lift off , dd just went in potty , missed a little , but I just screamed with joy and she was soooo pleased, lets see how the rest of the day goes.

Now what happens with poos eh????!!!!

congrats top banana, you due in Sept then ?
