  1. remmeber it is hard work - hence hte training - yes life will be more difficult for a couple of weeks
  2. do NOT use pull ups for day time naps or anythin short of a 2 hour journey
  3. night training is a wholey seperate issue

Day 9 at casa Passion.

All fine, went to the park for most of the day and she wee'd in the big toilets at the cafe before lunch and again after lunch.

Small wee accident while running around with the big girls.

Poo accident while I was showing roofers our leaky roof.

And another wee accident while playing after tea, I was chasing a rat out of the diningroom with DM.

The accidents are happening when one or the other of us is distracted.

still crap here, literally. He is quite good at doing wees on demand. Only one acident yesterday when he was at a playground and I kept asking him as he was jiggling around but didn't manage to get to him in time. He still doesn't ask to go though.

Poos stil a major problem. Have tried sitting him on loo and reading at least 2 books. Nothing then about 5 mins later he poos in his pants. (I have watched him and asked him in those 5 mins and he this am he did tell me but too late). He has done poos in the toilet and hasn't seemed freaked by it, he thinks the plop sound is funny. But he hasn't done it for a week now. Its exactly 2 weeks since we started. I have asked him and he said he prefers poos in his pants to the loo but can't explain why. I have tried special new stickers and small bars of choc as bribes. Have run out of ideas now, thsi has been the longest 2 weeks of my life.

Am dreading going to the toddler group today as I help run it and am always distracted.

Thanks for the added advice COD - much appreciated. Had a good chat with the girls at dd's nursery yesterday afternoon - seems she's really keen to go on the 'potty run' that they do every 45 minutes for all those going through the process - still insists on wearing and they can tell when she needs to go...so they have encouraged me to perservere and then review the situation at the end of the week. Still having issues at home - although she did sit on the potty last night whilst watching Cbeebies quite happily. This morning was a completely different matter - she was desparate to go and was holding on - got quite upset about sitting on it, so I put her in a nappy to go to nursery. No talk of extra stars on her chart would make her change her mind either! Made a big thing about her showing me the toilets/potties at nursery and keen to change into her pants though when we got there.....so I'm confused.....

I keep reading conflicting advice everywhere though - including some unhelpful comments from my midwife yesterday...who virutally scolded me for even trying given that I'm 34 weeks pregnant!!

I think I'll wait until the weekend and if there's still no progress....I shall start again using your hints and tips! I am so close to binning the whole thing though and waiting unil she's 3 (in 4 months time) - just worried that having tried and failed once...next time will be even worse?!

cod · 19/04/2006 11:30

"so I put her in a nappy to go to nursery."

THAT WHy she was holding on! she has you aroudn her littel finger handbag! if you decide to go for tit hen NO NAPPIES at all

cod · 19/04/2006 11:30

cod · 19/04/2006 11:31

and alex if he wants to poo in t his pants make him go pantless!

HandbagAddiction · 19/04/2006 13:16

I agree COD, I should have known better, but it's difficult to be so hard headed about it when it's obvious that she's in an amount of discomfort and getting upset. Should I just let her wee on the floor in these scenarios when she won't sit in the potty but clearly 'wants to go'??

I'm just concerned about giving her a complex about it all.

cod · 19/04/2006 13:18

yep
floor city

cod · 19/04/2006 13:18

lets face it she know shwere to go !

its a batlle fo wils in your case

Passionflower · 19/04/2006 13:19

Ha! we have had a poo on the floor today! DD is def letting the girls side down on the poo front.

looneytune · 19/04/2006 15:01

Still no accidents so far and YIPPEEEEEEEE another poo in the potty!!! :)

This time it was no problem for ds, others times he's really scared and can't go (choc etc doesn't help). I did notice this one was a softer type of poo (sorry if tmi) so maybe it's the harder type that he's struggling with?? Just so confusing but I'm happy that he's not totally against it! :)

alex8 · 19/04/2006 15:53

pantless but with trousers? or naked? We had a poo on his bedroom floor in the first week when he was running around naked. Luckily not a big squashy one.

cod · 19/04/2006 16:45

yes well if he is holidng out for pants my motto woudl be no pants/trews

alex8 · 19/04/2006 17:58

well its not like he waits for them more like he just does it with no warning and it was only when I asked he said he liked it. But then someitmes you can ask the same question 3 times and get 3 different answers!

cod · 19/04/2006 17:59

DONT ASK

frogs · 19/04/2006 18:02

hba, I agree with cod! If she does pee on the floor, you can give her a cloth and let her wipe up as an added disincentive. (You still have to do it properly yourself afterwards, obviously, but it sends the right signals).

cod · 19/04/2006 18:05
