5......ohhhhh you lucky thing.
If DH agreed I'd be PG again already but there is absolutley no hope of that happening

BeccaBigBaubles · 29/12/2003 21:05

Well, Im so pleased NOT to be pregnant at the moment but would love more in time, I think 2 of each would be lovely.

H isnt a great bottle feeder either Emma, he sometimes eats a lot but at the moment isnt taking much and is still very sicky although today has seen a big improvement.

Like the new name Bekki and well done Alex on toy grabbing

adell · 29/12/2003 21:14

Hope everyone had a good Christmas . We'd promised DD that she could sleep in Joseph's room on Chrismtas Eve. She was so excited, packed her little suitcase with her toys and spent ages getting her bed ready. Wanted to go to bed the same time as him. At 6.20 DH & I couldn't believe our luck that they were both in bed. After rather a stressful day involving the central heating, water coming through the ceiling & my Mum and brother coming for an early Christmas dinner we felt we deserved a bit of peace. It lasted for half an hour. DD came trotting out again wanting to move back to her room - she couldn't sleep as he was snoring !!

Joseph's got bronchiolitis - know what you mean about b/f Emma. I wish it had worked out so a) he was less likely to have this in the first place and b)I wouldn't know how much he's taking and would worry less about dehydration.

Sounds like you're going to be busy Cherubs if DH wants 5 !

She packed a bag! How big is your house Adell

Ailsa · 29/12/2003 23:49

Jenny (17 weeks tomorrow) had her last set of jabs today, she gave the nurse her best smile then the horrid woman went and stuck a needle in each leg!

She had a great time at christmas with all the wrapping paper, and have discovered that she loves holding and looking at shiny crisp packets. DD1 decided on Sunday that Jenny was hers and not mine, so the first bottle I gave her that day was her bed time one, after DD1 had gone to bed.

adell · 30/12/2003 09:56

She only went 2 feet across the landing !!!! she wanted to use her new bag my Mum had just given her for Christmas.

Ailsa, hope Jenny's OK after her jabs. It must be a relief that they are all done for now.Would you consider hiring DD1 out to come and feed Joseph ?!

Ailsa · 30/12/2003 22:41

It'll cost you!! Don't know how she does it, but, she manages to get Jenny to empty the bottle, 8oz, and NOT bring any of it back up (most of the time). I wish she was as keen to tidy up her bedroom, I'm going to have a blitz next week after DD1 & DS have gone back to school.

As for the jabs she was a bit uncomfortable last night due to sore legs but she's ok now.

How're all the other babes?

BeccaBigBaubles · 30/12/2003 22:44

Ive just posted about H's little feeding problem if anyone has any advice!

To sum it up, Harvey is sicky - I seemed to have pinpointed that his milk (aptamil extra) makes it worse, I have put him on aptamil first and while he is still sick it seems to have improved on this BUT he has started waking in the night again, do I go back to extra and put up with sickiness to delay weaning or keep him on first and give him some baby rice - going to wait for a few days before I decide to do anything as I think he may have a cold which could be affecting his milk intake thus being the reason for wakings rather than the milk.

Phew!!

Aside from that - he is great, totallly lovely and giggly and content - starting to grab at toys now which is very cute and just generally a chubby ball of gorgeousness

Becca, I'm hoping to visit my sister in Morpeth in the not too distant future, I'll drop DD1 off on the way if you like, she seems to have the knack of feeding without baby being sick!

Beccarollover · 31/12/2003 20:23

Oooooooooooooo would you that would be fab, Im just 2 turnoffs the A1 before morpeth

adell · 03/01/2004 18:24

Happy New year to everyone ! Having a bit of trouble with Joseph's feeding, don't think he likes Aptamil very much. Had been putting his reduced intake down after effect of 3 month growth spurt and his bronchiolitis. He is loads better now but intake is still quite low. Emma, I noticed that Jame's has changed formula, is the feeding still going better ? Quite ironic really, I'm worrying about him not eating enough and me eating too much !!

emmatmg · 03/01/2004 18:32

adell..........we have a huge miracle in this house!
He drinks most of his milk in one go, earlier today drank 7oz in one shot. since changing 4.5 hours has the very VERY maximum we've gone between feed, whereas before he'd go 5.5 sometimes. After that big one today we didn't even get to 4 hours until the next one and he only has 1oz left from 8oz(I make 7oz bottles but water+formula fills the bottle to 8oz)
He doesn't do the huge revolting burps he did before that hurt him, now they're quite tame and he rarely cries to bring it up.

I HAVE WON THE BATTLE!!!!!!!!!(hopefully)

emmatmg · 03/01/2004 18:33

happy new year to you too BTW

adell · 03/01/2004 18:48

Thanks Emma, we reverted to C&G at about 4pm to see if would make a difference. He's taken nearly as much since then as he has the rest of the day. Think that's telling us something. We'll try a full day on C&G and see what happens. It's amazes me how they react so differently to different ones. I'm really pleased about James, he sounds as if he's doing really well bless him !

melsy · 03/01/2004 18:52

Hi girls - god what a long way we have come. Soooo tired still though, cant read long threads today!!! Sleeping a little more and now have her in routine. DD will be 16 weeks on Thursday woa!!!!

emmatmg · 03/01/2004 18:59

adell, I have to say I thought the HV was mad suggesting that maybe he doesn't like SMA, How would he know any different when that's all he's had but I'm obviously very wrong.
I think I remember reading somewhere, probably here, the SMA was quite thick and now that James is on Farleys I can really see the difference, even the dry powder doesn't look as thick, its wierd.

adell · 03/01/2004 19:05

That's interesting Emma, I've noticed the Aptamil scoops are bigger. He's now doing a good impression of a very unsettled baby. Probably got tummy ache after the swop. He hasn't been weighed for about 5 weeks, probably time to do it next week and see where we're at.

Melsy, I was looking at a very new baby in a shop today and thought how tiny it seemed, I guess we have come a very long way. Hope the sleeping improves, hang on in there, it WILL happen.

Ailsa · 03/01/2004 21:37

I'm going to take Jenny to be weighed next week, last chance before going back to work on 12th. She seems to have suddenly got really heavy over the last week, she was last weighed at 14 weeks, so it will be 4 weeks since her last weigh-in. She's now having 4 x 8oz bottles of Cow & Gate Plus, but yesterday had 5 x 8oz bottles!!

We went to visit Great Gran yesterday (she'll be 97 yo this year), dd1 and ds are scared of her, the don't like kisses from her because they're slobbery and hairy! She had Jenny on her lap, and she laughed her little socks off at Gran.

Beccarollover · 03/01/2004 21:41

Hi peeps

Well, seem to have got to the bottom of Harveys sickiness, took him to GP yesterday as was quite sick of the ever worsening vomiting after feeds and it seems he has reflux - he has been prescribed infant gaviscon to put in his feeds and today has seen a miraculous improvement, taking much more of his milk and no sick!!!! He slept really well again last night so hopefully that is THIS problem sorted - on to the next!

Happy new year to you all

Beccarollover · 04/01/2004 13:53

yeah hope your ok wilt, also where is angelmother

emmatmg · 04/01/2004 19:46

Come on girls.....where are you?

This maybe cyber space but I am a terrible worrier.......

adell · 05/01/2004 20:47

Ok, another problem solved. He's back on C&G Plus and doing a pretty good impression of a thriving baby again. I'm delaying the final set of jabs as I can't face another reaction just at the moment. One more day and DD starts school fulltime. Might finally get a chance to meet up with the Mum & baby from the next bed in hospital, only will have taken about 17 weeks to sort out !
