I have had a couple of minor glitches 1st one dealt with MAP - 2nd one DP promised he never finished (yep that old chestnut) and I was too tipsy (hammered) to complain

Soooooooooooo the luck is in the draw, I was exclusively breastfeeding on both ocassions so maybe that will help!

I sound like a fool dont I

princessinapeartree · 18/12/2003 22:06

no, but you sound like a girl for whom it wouldn't be the end of the world if she got pregnant again and so is willing to take a chance or two.
nothing wrong with that, I suppose!

princessinapeartree · 18/12/2003 22:07

ps of COURSE he finished, they always do...!!!!

yep and theres that precum stuff as well isnt there!! I really should have concentrated in sex education!

No it wouldnt be the end of the world and Id get as much joy out of possible #3 as I have out of Megan and Harvey - it would make my world harder and better in one go, thats the way I see it anyway, there are lots of practical reasons why Id rather not be of course!

If my house wasnt sooo small I wouldnt be so bothered and if we had a bit more money

PPH- if I am can I come and move into a wing of the castle?

emXMAStmg · 20/12/2003 18:24

Hello again Cords......in answer to your question about our little ones sleeping.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO...........he isn't!

He has a bottle at anytime between 9:30pm and 10:30pm and drinks varying amounts, from a few ounces to the whole lot(BTW he can take up to 2 hours to drink it whole lot!) but he still wakes at about 4am. Sometimes abit earlier, sometimes abit later. I can normally get him to sleep for a while in our bed, maybe 45 minutes or so. He has slept through until 5:30am a handful of times.

It's very hard isn't it, DS1+2 were sleeping through by about 6-7 weeks but James will be 3 months on Xmas eve and he shows no signs of co-operating!

I think wiltshire will have a few words about this as I think her little man is still feeding every 3-4 hrs too.

I have to admit that hard as it is, my young man is soooooooooooooooooo lovely, gorgeous, wonderful, beautiful that I love those early mornings with just me and him.

princessinapeartree · 21/12/2003 00:06

of course becca! and we'll sterilize the moat so you can have a water birth...

BeccaBigBaubles · 21/12/2003 08:20

haha PPH, I just pissed myself laughing - thats not a sign is it?

Bekki · 21/12/2003 09:07

Alexander is teething and hes finding it difficult to sleep and so am I!
Hes also bites down and pulls away whilst feeding which is becoming unbearable. Its notjust my nipple its my entire breasts that aches. I'm scared to let him feed and he doesn't seem to be feeding as much anyway. I don't remember teething being this bad with ds1 but then again I didn't breast feed him, but he still slept through the night and wasn't irritable.
How are your lot doing?
Wheres AM?

cords · 21/12/2003 12:52

tks emxmastmg ....i was wondering if it was just me ! I marvel when i see for myself their babies fall asleep on their own accord ... DD only ever does this when in Baby carrier of held ... She is getting heavy though and sore on my shoulders so am going to try and be strict come Jan and attempt sleep training.

She is however gorgeous , and has started laughing (soooo cuuute!)

wiltshire · 21/12/2003 19:23

Hi girls, not too much mention of illnesses I see, thank goodness. Are you all looking forward to Christmas. Max has been given outfits to wear on the day in which he will be tigger, xmas pudding, frosty snowman and an Elf!!!! Blinding Eh, think of the 18th Birthday at which I shall have the pics enlarged and embarrass the hell out of him.

Unfortunately, we have had a bit more sickness. My friend bought her little girl to stay for a few days and while she was here she caught Gastroenteritis (she is two). Max got it and ended up in hosp....again. It was to do with Dehydration. I am sure my neighbours think I must be beating the child. All is well now and he drank lots of Dyrolite (sp).

We are still feeding every 3/4 hours but an amazing thing happened last night. He had a bot bot at 10pm and slept until 6.30 this am. I must have woken up about 4/5 times and was getting quite worried as he has never done this before. I almost woke him up to check he was okay. But he woke up quite happy and didn't really drink all of his bot (thought he'd be starving). SO, is this a fluke or are we back to normal tonight? Will keep you all posted.

Oh and good luck with the clearblue Bec

Forgot to ask, when do babies start teething (earliest) and how do you know?

OP posts:
adell · 21/12/2003 19:56

I found DD's old highchair that has survived 3 moves and after a good clean has scrubbed up well. It's got a very reclined setting for the seat so Joseph can use it - he looked so proud of himself sitting up to the table with the rest of us! (And so grown up, where is my little baby ?!)

Wiltshire, poor you & Max. Hope he's better now. Good news on the sleep front though, will keep fingers crossed for a repeat performance tonight. The average age for teething is about 6 months, but it can be anytime. Have a look at this for how to tell.

Emma, Becca's another convert to Dr Brown's bottles and found Harvey took his feed much easier with them. Is James getting on OK ?

Hope you've all done better on the Christmas front than I have. Only just managed to get the tree up today, failed to check out my Waitrose delivery and have lost my slot for delivery of Christmas dinner and am going to have to email people rather than send cards I think ! Weird to think that this time next year they'll probably be tottering round the place pulling the tree over!

Bekki · 21/12/2003 20:29

Its weird to think that a year ago I was just 2 weeks pregnant!

Bekki · 21/12/2003 20:32

Wiltshire- Both my babies have started teething at 3 months and popped a tooth at 4 months. Although some are born with teeth.

adell · 21/12/2003 20:33

I wasn't even pregnant yet a year ago.

Bekki · 21/12/2003 20:36

It is amazing isn't it. To think that this 15lb baby was just a dot a year ago.

adell · 21/12/2003 20:45

It is amazing, Joseph was a lovely suprise - we were going to think about it this Christmas. This time last year I had no idea there were going to be 4 of us for this year. I asked DD the other day if she remembered what it was like before he was here. She replied with one word "lonely" I felt really guilty for not getting on with it sooner and really pleased that we'd had another.

Bekki · 21/12/2003 21:02

I wish I had too. Ds1 is having problems adjusting to his new role as big brother but he is so happy to have a play mate and to have someone to share his toys with. Its when ds2 laughs at ds1 when I think I could have 10 more children.

adell · 21/12/2003 21:15

I know exactly what you mean mean, never quite understood why people would want more than two, I now totally understand. DD's got really into the whole thing, wants us to have another one, to be called Looby Loo or Andy Pandy apparently !! She's going to be out of luck though, I don't fancy a third c/section. Will be interested to see what happens when the reality of sharing toys and being smacked over the head with them does to DD's view of her brother....

wiltshire · 22/12/2003 07:11

I wasn't pg either a year ago. It seems so surreal. We were thinking about a nice holiday in Feb to Thailand. Which subsequently never happened. It's also really hard to think back to what life was like before pregnancy/DS.

OP posts:
emXMAStmg · 22/12/2003 10:55

Yep, me too....I fell PG on 29th Dec, when I still had no idea that DH had changed his mind about trying for no.3.
Sadly for him we didn't have to try very hard as James was 'made' on that night, on the first attempt

Adell, James changes his mind every day about whether he'll drink his milk or not so I honestly don't know from one day to the next whether I should make 5, 6,7 or 8oz bottles. He's crying at the mo and only had a bottle at 8am, drained the lot. Yet the day before yesterday he only finshed one whole bottle all day!
Oh well, I think I just have a fussy feeder.....weaning should be fun!!!

Bekki, I also have an early teether here, constant chewing and very irritable and he's not even 3 months yet!!! Poor little pickle

Cherubs · 29/12/2003 20:24

Proud! Alexander is now becoming an expert toy grabber. He didn't even attempt it until last week and now hes getting really quite good at it. Sam is very impressed by his little brother holding his toys. I'm sure the novelty will wear off when he won't give it back.
This is Bekki btw. Loads of reasons why I had to change names.
My baby is nearly 4 months! But still no sign of this tooth yet. How are all your cuties doing?

emmatmg · 29/12/2003 20:46

Okay then cherubs you have to tell us why you've changed names.

James has started to hold and reach for things roo, it's so lovely isn't it.
He was 3 months on Xmas eve and I just wish time wouldn't go so fast, it makes me so sad that I'm not going to have this all again. It's so bad that when I was browsing through the Next catalogue the other day I couldn't bring myself to look at the maternity stuff, it almost made me cry!

My poor little man has another cold and totally off his milk again. I know it's only a guide but according to the tin he should be getting around 30oz per day, well I only make 28oz and he never drinks all of his bottle, he's probably drinking nearer 23oz. God I soooooooooo wish I was able to breast feed then I wouldn't have any of this "how many oz's" crap.

Cherubs · 29/12/2003 20:55

Don't start me off Emma. I make myself look to de-sensitize myself. I told dh the other day that I want another baby in two years. He looked horrified. But later on I asked him how many kids he wanted and he said 5 so I can never work him out. I'll just pop 'em out till he complains
I changed my name becuse mn didn't recognise that I existed and so I couldn't subscribe properly. Also my dad, mil, brother and two local jehovahs' witnesses know that I post on here. I thought my actual name was a bit too obvious
