Well done on finding the motivation to start the thread! :o

Have you got much to procrastinate around with at the moment?

I'm doing a grouphell presentation on Thursday this week. My fellow group members and I are fantastic procrastinators and we're only having our first meeting today. :)

Then I'm obviously going to start revision for May exams (six of them)... even when I'm away for two weeks after Easter. Oh yes I am......

gingergran · 02/04/2012 14:47

iMA for 17-24 april and TMA for 24 April so in my head i can easily take the next two weeks off!

tumbleweedblowing · 02/04/2012 22:18

I'm not really sure why I didn't notice, but the DCs are off school for the next two weeks, we had friends to stay over the weekend, and are off to stay with other friends the day after tomorrow. The ILS are staying here while we are away, and so they will effectively be visiting when we get back.

How on earth I am supposed to put in any quality procrastinating with all that getting in the way, and a TMA due on the 18th? Grin

And I still haven't had my last TMA back (3 weeks in), which is seriously bloody hindering my ability to focus on anything. And a bit stupid, because it has no bearing on the next TMA at all, so is just an excuse to get stressy.Blush

I think I'll concentrate on eating chocolate instead of cooking this time.....

I have a TMA due Thursday.... and am finding it extremely hard going, put some serious work in yesterday, but can't sleep and now am tempted to start from scratch again..........

chipmunksex · 03/04/2012 20:23

Am procrastinating towards a TMA on 28th April then I have an EMA (not sure what that is Blush to be in by the end of May.
Also loads of shit at work-complete restructure anyone? argghh and still no tutorials. Angry

So I will swan off for the weekend, read too many regency set romances and try not to stress. Grin

cazboldy · 03/04/2012 22:13

EMA - Externally marked assignment I think.... it's not marked by your own tutor.... I have one of those due in May too

SwedishEdith · 03/04/2012 22:26

Next one's due in, um, 2 weeks? Loads of time. Not even opened books since last one Blush

chipmunksex · 03/04/2012 22:35

oh thankyou cazboldy I sort of thought it was Electronically marked assignment, and could not work out how a computer could mark a politics essay. Confused [stupid]

cazboldy · 03/04/2012 22:37

you're welcome Smile

I assume it sort of checks that your tutor is marking correctly, i.e not too harshly/leniently.....

What course are you doing?

I am doing AA100, just have tma 07 due in 3 weeks, and then the EMA to go....

littleducks · 03/04/2012 22:49

Can I join? I think I missed the March thread entirely.

These last few weeks have been awful, I have had so much work to do and been super stressed out.

I had a partner hell project, dear lord the girl is my friend but she was so slow and is young with no family etc. to work around we were clashing a bit on scheduling.

The a long linguistics analysis which I did and handed in with moments to spare, that was all a haze after the partner project and I cant remember a word that I wrote.

That was in last friday so i gave myself the weekend off, which somehow stretched into monday as it was ds's birthday and then birthday party at nursery.

Then come this morning i start on a report that had to be in (physically handed in) today. Aaaargh! I had totally underestimated it and spent most of the day ignoring kids and typing before driving into central London (decided with both kids that the Congestion Charge was worth it over the arguments forcing them to walk/tube) to hand it in.

I wish that was it....but the report is only a preview, I have to make a verbal report/viva to accompany it on thursday!!!

chipmunksex · 03/04/2012 22:54

Cor that sounds rough ducks well done for getting it there.Wine

I am doing DD306 'living political ideas' and it's my first course without an exam, am now wondering is the exam would be better. Hmm

Not that I think my tutor is favouring me or anything, just the 4000 word essay scares the bejeezus out of me. Shock

craftynclothy · 04/04/2012 14:40

Blimey Littleducks, sounds like a busy day!

Have tons of reading to do here but so so tired atm. Really need to figure out how to work studying into my evenings now that dd2's nap is unreliable & weekends fairly busy.

gingergran · 04/04/2012 17:14

littleducks - rather you than me!!

HolofernesesHead · 05/04/2012 10:24

Hi procrastinators! I think I need to join you as I am (supposedly) writing up a 15K word piece in the hope that I'll have a draft done by April 19th (hah!)

So far this morning I've taken the dc to their Easter hols playscheme, felt guilty about doing so, made a coffee, and...errr...posted a bit on MN [bush]. Time to get writing, methinks...

craftynclothy · 05/04/2012 16:27

Shock 15000 words???!!!! Oh my. Err...good luck with that Grin

HolofernesesHead · 05/04/2012 16:30

THank you! I've manged a good-ish day (interspersed with MNing a bit too much Blush). I'm going to crack on tonight - hopefully by close of play I'll be at the 1100-word mark - I started today at 9000 and am currently at - let's see - 10,281.

wildstrawberryplace · 05/04/2012 18:05

Hello folks. 2 TMAs due next week. As usual, nothing in the tank, it's school hols plus we're going away tomorrow Confused. Totally flying by the seat of my pants yet again.

Good luck to those writing atm. And to those with 2 weeks + to go: Just. Start. Now. I sure wish I'd done that when I had 2 weeks to luxuriate in Grin

littleducks · 05/04/2012 18:08

I'm shocked at the length if these assignments, they souund like books, most stuff I write is 1000-1500 words....we get told its to teach us to be concise.

Video/verbal presentation/viva went well thus morning. In having Easter weekend off!

Happy writing!

HolofernesesHead · 05/04/2012 18:31

Concise is good, Littleducks! I've been working on this piece for a while and am surrounded by piles of books...Confused

Glad your presentation went well this morning!

Wildstrawberry, enjoy your time away - hopefully you'll come back refreshed and work doubly quickly!

chipmunksex · 05/04/2012 19:40

Hi strawberry wise words from you- school holidays are so tricky, which is why I would never do a course over the summer.

I have hardly done anything this week

cazboldy · 06/04/2012 16:07

submitted mine on time in the end... was 1500 words, but only managed 1363, so hoping that will be enough......

15000......>

chipmunksex · 10/04/2012 11:22

Dutifully took my set book + brand new notebook to pil's for easter weekend.

Did not even open the thing

How are you all going?

HolofernesesHead · 10/04/2012 17:36

I'm on 13,254 - the goal of 15,000 is in sight (ish). The dc are suposed to be going to a local play scheme on Thurs and Fri, but I'm really hoping to get to 15K by the end of Thursday so that we can go and do something nice for the last day of the Easter hols. Dd is at a sleepover, and ds's friend is here atm, so I'm grabbing the opportunity to do a quick bit of work while they wreck havoc play in his room.

littleducks · 10/04/2012 18:00

Wow! Im impressed Holoferness.

I have my exam timetable now so will be cracking on with revsion (and some learning for the very first time) as soon as kids are back to school next Tues.

madwomanintheattic · 11/04/2012 14:42

I am über stressed in the manner of ducks Grin. But resolute.

I have approx (counts 'em) 30,000 words to do on various assignments and a dissertation over the next three mos.

My kettle has stopped working.
