Holo - 2 pieces submitted must be weight off?! What is your course? Lots of exams together?

Yes, it will be a good feeling, only 7 days to go. Have post Masters piss up party planned. Then planning to milk the graduation for all its worth! Will be good for the DTs to see that I can achieve something, other than making dinner and cleaning the loo!

I have thought about the punishment thing, and the way I look at it is:

5 years ago I could have said to myself 'Oh a MSc part time will take at least 3 years thats far too long, so I wont bother.'

But the weeks, months and years pass by anyway, I might as well be achieving something! So now here I am 1 week away, the satisfaction more than makes up for the punishment aspect, don't you think?

However, I really do need to get off here and write today's words......

I'll join you.

Got a film due in on the 8th May.

I have the idea and some research.

cazboldy · 21/04/2012 08:21

Congrats Cazboldy!

Um, why am I on here? I have this weekend to read a full book and do an assignment Hmm.

LollipopViolet · 21/04/2012 11:20

I'm currently multi-tasking. I'm listening to Iron Maiden (again), doing some paperwork for one of my films, uploading some photos to Flickr, and messing about here and on Facebook.

I'd call that pretty good going :) Right, back to it, I suppose. Although I'm sure there's something more interesting I could be doing...

MrsS3 · 22/04/2012 09:27

Awesome multitasking Lolli Grin
Well done to caz, and ouch nku, it's the home straight now (although it sounds like you're sorted!!) holo, it feels like the grand national of coursework...jumping over the next fence when you're bleeping knackered and then there are more round the next corner... I do wonder why we do it Hmm
One more TMA for me Grin Grin Ohh and an exam [scream]

fuzzpig · 22/04/2012 20:12

gaaaah
trying to finally do my tma2 now. I did a rough draft (it's a methodology one which I found more difficult than I expected) ages ago in case I didn't get time later... I was right, I didn't get time! (crazy shit happening in life right now)
just opened my draft copy and don't understand a fucking word of it. due on tuesday.

shit :(

Oakmaiden · 22/04/2012 20:23

Thought I would pop back over here, having not posted on this forum for about a year! Funnily enough since my last batch of essays were due in...

So I am in my final run down to graduating, all I need to do now is submit the work. Oh. And do it.

I ahve just spent around 70-80 hours in the past 6 days working on the most painstaking piece of work I have ever done - a "creative Science" journal in 2500 words, but with a content to be included that would have suited 5000. I did around 71 pages of mind maps, diagrams, concept cartoons and short pithy "factoids". I am SOOO glad it is over. I have now to do a 1000 word essay to accompany it, ready to be handed in on Thursday. Then my dissertation is due next Friday - I have done the research , but that is really about all.... Another 2500 word essay on the 14th, 3500 on the 18th, an exam on the 21st and another on the 23rd - and then I am done!

But oh crap - I have so much work to do before I get there...

craftynclothy · 22/04/2012 20:51

Well, I've been grated a 1 week extension. My toothache has flared up again (tooth is coming out on Friday morning). I'm dosed up on painkillers and feel cack.

fuzzpig · 23/04/2012 07:45

I managed most of mine last night - wrote up the draft with a few embellishments. Am taking laptop to work so I can continue during lunch hour

cazboldy · 23/04/2012 18:05

hope you feel better soon crafty Smile

LollipopViolet · 23/04/2012 19:41

Aaaaaaargh. Need to go in and edit tomorrow.

Can I book an edit suite in our media centre??

Can I hell! Looks like I'll be editing in the library. And taking my laptop just in case all the library edit suites are taken up.

Forgot this tends to happen. Well, it has been a year since I've been in post production

mummynoseynora · 23/04/2012 21:29

oh this thread looks perfect for me! Can I join?!

I am doing TU100 with OU

I have TMA03 due on thursday, I have 2 kids being a fecking nightmare at the moment, I have the squits Blush sorry but its a factor! and my tutor has had to do a runner as her mum is critically ill - I really feel for her and am lucky that the course isn't too much of a challenge at the mo

I am roughly half way through the TMA, but as I am working all day tomorrow and wednesday I basically have tonight and tomorrow night to finish this (more work weds eve)

can someone PLEASE give my arse a kick - gently! and make me do some work!

Oakmaiden · 23/04/2012 21:45
mummynoseynora · 23/04/2012 22:27

well done on the essay Oakmaiden

I have started work on the last question on my TMA (as q3 was just a blur) and am over halfway on that so planning to finish this question tonight then hit the other one tomorrow.... with caffeine

SwedishEdith · 23/04/2012 23:10

Get off the thread mummy Grin. Seriously, I have just submitted mine now with 1 hour to go. If you post, you will just keep checking back. I can't really even complain I've not had time, I have. I just waste it spending hours thinking whether each word is just so. Need the deadline to just make me write. Anything. Bath now.

fuzzpig · 23/04/2012 23:27

just submitted mine. bad bad bad. too tired.

tumbleweedblowing · 24/04/2012 18:23

I'm stuck.

I have an extension because I hurt my shoulder and couldn't work for over a week. When I finally got back to it, I realised that the whole TMA is about "stuff" I've been agonising over for the last year. My head is in a complete mess, and even though the guidelines practically lay it out for me, I just can't put in on paper, without getting tangled up in all my own "stuff".

Before the death modules, they warn you that you might find it too much of a challenge. No where do they warn you that all the warm fuzzy stuff you thought you "knew" might come back and bite you. Confused

Buggeration.

I have opened a non-alcoholic beer. Frankly it is not helping. Does anyone have any vodka? Actually Wine would do.....

I have to get this in tomorrow, because if I don't I'm going to have to explain to my tutor what the problem is, and frankly I'm not keen to "go there"!!!!

As you were. I'm going back in!

mummynoseynora · 24/04/2012 19:27

SwedishEdith - I did get back to it and finished that question last night... which was easier than I thought - which of course leaves me with finishing off one, plus the bastard one tonight... but I WILL get it done (probably)

Fuzzpig - well done on submitting... had a reread when you are less tired - might not be as bad as you think?

tumbleweed that sounds tough... what course are you doing? Hope you manage to find a way through the TMA then hopefully you can forget about the 'stuff' in it? Here's a Wine to help you on your way

tumbleweedblowing · 24/04/2012 19:42

It's only DSE212, but the TMA covers attachments ..... I didn't realise I had so much baggage.

Thank you very much for the Wine yum, Shiraz?

Grin I will get it submitted in time.....

mummynoseynora · 24/04/2012 19:51

hey if shiraz works for you then go for it Wink

I prefer a nice white zinfandel myself - although tonight its a strong Brew

Just had a quick nose at your course description - looks interesting!

chipmunksex · 24/04/2012 21:21

My arse needs kicking too. Kick me if ya see me watching obscure cure videos on youtube.
< goes back to youtube safe in the knowledge you can't see me muhahhaaa>

LollipopViolet · 24/04/2012 21:46

I need a kick too. Shooting on Thursday and have a couple of documents left to write in prep. Seriously contemplating laptop + bed + getting it done in comfort instead of sat here on a broken office chair lol

As an aside: WHY does my uni block off our extra edit suites right round deadline time? It's awkward and means I'm dragging v. heavy laptop and v. heavy external hard drive round in a backpack and it's uncomfy and painful! And then there's very few places I can work as both these need to be plugged in.

mummynoseynora · 24/04/2012 22:37

I did it - I did it!! I put off the bastard question for as long as possible (even reformatting the whole TMA) and then bluffed my way through the short question that made no sense, and did the rest of it

TMA03 submitted, with 2 days to spare!

pass me the Wine

tumbleweedblowing · 25/04/2012 17:57

So, I'm 1700 words in.

I have Scott & Bailey from the other night recorded, and DH brought back some Wine from Morrisons earlier. I'm going to try hard to resist. I've dealt with the bit I was worried about, but really, really want to submit tonight.

I have a ballet run, and a swimming run to do. But they're not really good excuses are they. (statement not question Grin)
