champs, do a test!!!!!!

kaz33 · 14/12/2003 21:07

Gosh, can you imagine another one so soon - 20 months gap is quite close enough, that would be about 13 months !! Champs sure it is fine, our bodies take a while to get back into their rhthym, probably your worrying is delaying it even further. But as MI says - do a test.

Back at work tomorrow - looking forward to the 800 odd e mails that I will have to delete. That should take me all morning, just in time for lunch. Will be nice to get some adult company, especially as I have been locked up in the flat with two sick kids on my own all weekend !!

Other than that everything fine, sorted out all my Xmas pressies - DS2 sleeping 7 to 7 ( well he was before getting his cold..., but sure it is a temporary lapse.

Good luck for tomorrow Kaz! I have been at work two weeks now and although the first week was hideous (but its a new job) the second week was great, and it was lovely to get out there again in decent clothes and have adult conversation about anything but babies. MI, mine isn't rolling at all yet, she is completely disinterested.

First of all, hello traceyshep - sorry, was feeling chaotic before! And Kaz, I hope today went well. I have a meeting today. A real proper meeting at a women's magazine. Which means finding some clothes which aren't jeans - especially difficult after last week when I spent the week poorly in first pyjamas, then sweat pants, then stretchy jeans; I'm vaguely hoping that my black velvet trousers (not the floppy sort but widelegged) and black cardigan and red suede trainers spell 'funky freelancer' but I bet they don't, you know.

Mine isn't rolling over - she is just like her sister that way.

Am secretly very impressed at anyone who can even suspect they are pregnant at the moment IYKWIM. The energy!

champs · 15/12/2003 21:22

can't bring myself to do one..... I know I sound like a silly teenager -no offense intended, indeed i was a teen wen had ds1- I keep trying to remember wen came on last.... They are so expensive esp. if it comes neg cos I wasn't even due yet!!
Well enuff about me,
tracey-- Hi!! Haven't tried it mixed yet, ds2 didn't like apple on its own!!
Kaz-- Hope today went great.... work.... don't even want to think bout going back!!
Dahlia-- what are decent clothes again!!??
Mother-- lol, I thought the same but anniv and a few arguements meant abit of bedroom antics were necesary lol.
I have NOT got all Christmas prezzies yet... Buggy, baby, trolley, ds1 pointing to things sayin I want..., hustles and bustles of crowds, need I go on? I will wait till DH has day off at w/e oh didn't want to go so close to christmas!!

BTW, DS1 has Hand, Foot and Mouth disease!! The poor lamb, haven't heard about this for ages. am gonna look for info on it, has any of your children or children you know had it? i will start thread to see if anyone else has knows bout it.
Bye for now, Champs xxx

traceyshep · 17/12/2003 22:48

Today we did Xmas shopping in Manchester (dh had the day off work), and surprisingly got most of it done!! I was sure dd would get fed up of being pushed round shops for ages but no, today she was quite happy in her buggy looking round at everything. She also seemed to like going by train So quite a good day really!

traceyshep · 17/12/2003 22:52

I meant to ask, champs how is your DS1? My boss's granddaugher (age 2) has recently had hand foot and mouth disease. She didn't say much about it but little Emma is better now, I don't think it lasted too long.

champs · 18/12/2003 20:39

Poinsettia · 19/12/2003 21:57

Phew champs! What a relief for you!

kaz33 · 22/12/2003 13:59

Thank god for that Champs.

Well I am back at work and hate it with every sinew of my body...

No going to bore you with the petty details but yep going on maternity leave is great way to get sidetracked. Anyway as they are presently paying me over £3K a month to sit on my backside and play pinball sure it won't be long before that trip to personel.

Must admit that not helped from the pure exhaustion of getting up in the middle of the night to deal with DS2 who is still suffering from the fag end of his flu. Luckily DS1 is over his. Role on Christmas.

motherinfestivemood · 24/12/2003 14:52

Christmas Eve - DD2 is six months old today!

Have a good one, you lot. xxxxxxx

Poinsettia · 24/12/2003 23:09

My dd2 was six months on Sunday! Was it really only six months ago?
To all you June/July ladies, I wish you a very merry Christmas! And may all the babes sleep through tonight!

kaz33 · 27/12/2003 10:28

Happy half years to MI and Poinsetta... and Happy Christmas to all.

Have been spending my pinball money by booking a holiday. The first time abroad since DS1 was born - tuscany in May. Even the thought of it sends me all dreamy - thanks to other mumsnetters for the recomendation.

Only up twice last night - but think that DS2 is finally recovering from flu. So why or why has DS1 started getting up between 5am and 6am ???

Thought I'd change my name back as the festive season is practically over now. I don't think anyone knew who I was anyway!
Hope you all had a good time - have to just tell you my amusing festive story - we had friends round on christmas day and I was in the kitchen with girlfriend (men in lounge fortunately) and I was pouring some of the juice from the turkey into a dish to make stuffing, and don't ask me how but I dropped the flipping turkey - it kind of went in slow motion down the side of a cupboard door, then bounced on the floor and up again, then down, then skidded at top speed right across the kitchen - I said 'oh F*CK' really loud, and then just collapsed in hysterics, and my friend actually wee-ed her pants laughing. We had to scoop it up really quick and lob it back in the oven before anyone caught us. But it tasted ok when we ate it!!

motherinferior · 27/12/2003 21:12

I wish I could have been there, Dahlia. Hope you resisted the urge to tell anyone at the table?

Both my two have horrible coughs...

happyspider · 28/12/2003 21:42

Hi all

First of all happy first 6 months anniversary to MI, KAZ and Poinsetta (or is it Dahlia now?)

Had trouble with PC, then went home to celebrate Christmas and introduce little one to the rest of the family and it was lovely...hence did not get chance to post for a while!
DS was 6 months a coupel of weeks ago, has one tooth, laughs a lot, can clap his hands and he's trying to crawl: scary or what?

If I think that last year at Christmas he was the size of a golf ball!

He still doesn't sleep through the night though

I have noticed that some of you have gone back to work already, well done. I am back next week and dreading it!
Will I be able to get ready with ds and out of the door by 7:15???? I have decided to do a test run during the week to see how it goes.

Well, I have a lot to catch up with, so I will be reading your posting and hopefully I will be able to post more!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wanted to wish you all a happy New Year!

lol Dahlia for your Christmas Turkey, your friends were really friends if they still ate the turkey and kept quiet about it...

champs · 29/12/2003 20:41

hahaha Dalia wat a palavor!! If I wasn't feelin so ill I would be laughin even harder!!
Kaz-- how wonderful you will have a lovely thing to look forward to!!

Hope y'all had a great Christmas and happy new year to everyone!!!

kaz33 · 30/12/2003 16:51

A Happy New Year to everyone!
DD somehow managed to sleep through all the fireworks last night! It was so loud, I was sure she would wake up!
Yesterday she had mixed veg for the first time and made such a mess, her bib and face were covered in it.
I go back to work in a couple of weeks, dd will start nursery.. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone!

Dahlia · 03/01/2004 16:53

Happy Spider, that's pretty good going! My dd2 is no where near rolling over yet, let alone anything else! And she has no teeth either, though she has been chewing her hands alot recently so maybe one is coming. I have been trying to get her to bed earlier, but its just not happening. She still ends up going at about 10pm, but then she sleeps til 8am. Will keep trying.

Dahlia · 03/01/2004 16:54

Is it just me or is anyone else really struggling to find the time to get on Mumsnet? Maybe its because I have gone back to work?

motherinferior · 03/01/2004 19:08

Well, I work at my computer all day so it's more a question of finding the time to do any work

motherinferior · 05/01/2004 15:07

Talking of work, I just re-read the first of these threads for a piece I'm writing on 'the first six weeks'. AMAZING. What a long long way we've all come!
