I'm so proud I'm so proud I'm so proud!!!!!!!

(specially as DD1 was still sitting on her bottom till well over a year)

Marina · 21/04/2004 09:21

Can't resist peeking in here to say OMG Motherinferior, that's fantastic...and scary. Dusted down those stairgates I hope!

champs · 22/04/2004 17:41

Come on everyone - how are your little cherubs? We have one fine little tooth here!

champs · 26/04/2004 00:08

hi mi, ds2 has 2 teeth and more on the way. loves to sit up but hates being on his tummy.
prefers big people food to his own.

BTW, where's dahlia, how did her show go??!!

Kaz33 · 26/04/2004 06:26

Congrats MI, they are so much happier when they can crawl. I reckon number 2 gets moving quicker as they have a big sister/brother to copy.

Two tiny teeth here.

I'll email Dahlia.

Oh, she is a happy baby. Both my girls are incredibly sunny and happy. I am very very very lucky

Pook · 30/04/2004 08:49

I didn't realise that there was this thread specially for my dd - born 14th JUly and now 9 and a half months ish.

2 teeth now - and am convinced that top tooth imminent - keeps rubbing her nose and top lip. Slept through finally about 2 weeks ago, but then poss teeth pain and no luck since.

Crawling like crazy and can manage steps (up, but not down ). Tries to stand, but balance not brill.

I can't believe she's so old now. Time has passed soooo quickly. And it's getting better and better - every bit of new independence (sitting/crawling) has made her happier and sunnier. Lovely lass.

It seems strange to look back at when she was really tiny, and how hard it seemed, when now she's bigger and actually I have less free time than before. I suppose it's physically more demanding.

Had our first parent's evening last night, at ds's nursery. Was very sweet. Apparently he is very settled in his peer group (!) and they are impressed with his ability to concentrate for what they consider a length of time (when I asked, this is apparently 8/9 minutes. Didn't tell them he's happy to play on his own at home much longer... obviously more distractions at nursery). Oh, and his curiosity!
Apart from that, he now has five teeth and another one on the way. But still can't crawl - going through that stage of getting a leg stuck under him. Did bum shuffle last week but at home he only goes round in circles - very funny. Has been ill repeatedly but I gather that happens when babies start nursery. When not ill, is very happy little chap, lots of chuckles and grins. Enjoys singing daddy to sleep (when dh puts him to bed I often go up to discover he's asleep too).

Welcome Pook, always felt that there must have been other June/July or in my case late May babies out there. It was great to have support when we were all going through those first tough months - how long ago it seems now.

My DS2 will be celebrating his first birthday at the end of this month. With DS1 it was about this time that we were trying for DS2. Think we might leave it a bit longer next time...

Hi Everybody!
Its so nice reading everyone's news - I just wish I had more time to get on here. Well done MI on the crawling! Mine has just started commando crawling, its completely hysterical, you can hear her coming a mile off as she grunts and heaves and groans really loud with the effort of pulling her little body along by her arms. Bless. Still only 2 teeth, and still not interested in her beaker so I have put them in her toy box and let her mess about with them instead. She is just getting over her 47th cold, the worst thing is when she sneezes and before you can wipe the trail hanging from her nose she wipes it manically all over her face. Charming.

eddm · 08/05/2004 20:43

Hey, ds is really bottom shuffling! Saw him do it once a couple of weeks ago but nothing since. Today, though, he bum shuffled several feet. Funny thing is he's still trying to crawl as well (esp. during nappy change, little tinker). I thought it was one or the other, but he's obviously having difficulty making up his mind... Still toothy, now has six of them.

motherinferior · 11/05/2004 15:20

I think we're all doing VERY WELL

champs · 12/05/2004 19:27

dahlia!! hi glad we're all doing so well. ds2 is still little. the bumbo we got from mnetter doesn't hold him in cos he's so little LOL, found this out the hard way just now bad mummy

Dahlia · 14/05/2004 22:05

Yo Champs!

Is everyone planning a 1st birthday party?

champs · 15/05/2004 00:13

ds2 will be 1 in august am planning christening at mo. party planning will be done later. can you believe the time has gone so fast.

Kaz33 · 17/05/2004 16:14

DS2 is 1 at the end of the month and we are having a family party with a cake for him.

He is close to walking and has managed 5 steps in a row ( is that defined as walking ? ) but prepares to crawl as he is super efficent.

The boys are demanding and have become increasingly so since DS2 got mobile. They had their first official bundle this morning - DS1 did his trick of taking toy off DS2 while he was playing with it and then poking his head and saying no, no, no. This morning DS2 after screaming, retailated by launching himself at DS1 and causing DS1 to cry. I had to remove DS2 from the room.

Hopefully, as DS2 refuses to be pushed around, DS1 will treat him with more respect.

On the positive side the boys do get on well most of the time and adore each other. No doubt they will soon be thick as thieves...

I suppose we will have to relinquish our spot as June/July babies soon as this years crop take our place - unless we change our name to June/July 2003 ?

OP posts:
Dahlia · 19/05/2004 17:03

Yeah, perhaps we should change our name. Glad to hear your ds2 can stick up for himself Kaz!

motherinferior · 19/05/2004 19:10

We're not planning a party this year - we did one for dd1, but quite frankly we're gearing up for MY birthday party in - oh my god - two and a half weeks' time. I'll be 41, can you believe it?

Sadly, dp has to be away for dd2's actual birthday, too. So I think I'll invite a few girlfriends round for a nice glass of champagne in our front room at 8.38pm to commemorate exactly what took place there last year...

eddm · 19/05/2004 19:19

MI, you gave birth in your front room? Wow.
Maybe we should all take over the bar one night and have a virtual party to celebrate a year since we gave birth...

motherinferior · 19/05/2004 19:20

Yes - in a whacking great paddling pool thing which looked rather a lot like DD2's new cage - er, sorry, mean playpen. When it's perched on that bit of the carpet I get highly disturbing flashbacks

champs · 20/05/2004 02:42

MI how lovely, I wanted a pool birth(in hosp) but had complications. was it really nice--- on second thoughts dont tell me as I dont want to be jealous

Kaz33 · 21/05/2004 15:22

Why were you up at 2.45am Champs - problems with sleeping baby ??

OP posts:
champs · 21/05/2004 16:57

hi kaz, i have probs sleeping, have been goin to bed about 5am most nights (or should that be morn?) baby doesn't sleep thru either.

Dahlia · 24/05/2004 15:18

Blimey champs, you must be exhausted, you poor love. How long have you had trouble sleeping? I am knackered enough on a full nights sleep so god knows how you cope. Big hugs to you xx. On the birthday front, we are having a bbq to celebrate dd2's big day, and inviting everyone that came to her christening - some of you may remember me whingeing on about my hideous sister in law who upset me about my christening outfit? Well guess what? Her and my brother (they aren't actually married) are in the process of splitting up, so I don't have to worry about her spoiling the birthday party as she won't be there. That may sound a bit callous but trust me, she ain't nice.
