bagpuss my NNU were great at encouraging me to bf! But then i was a pushy mummy and didnt want them to have anything else....when they couldnt use my milk(medication i was given due to major post op probs) they had donor milk for 48hrs :( at seeing my colostrum tipped away. They were given nutriprem in my milk to boost the calorie intake. I was discouraged about using tiny terry cloths as the skin on premmies is soo fragile that it can breakdown easily so just stuck with micro's.

treedelivery · 05/09/2010 20:33

Hi all.

Have had a message to say those strawberry nappies are back in stock, and I now really want a Tutto. I have no money for either Sad

Thank God all the twins are with you and in their lovely nappies. What a lot you have had to go through.

I have a bambooty, I boost it with a small itt insert that's not being used and it's really good. No droop [yet]. I think she will grow out of it soon Sad

bagpuss · 05/09/2010 21:09

Oh no tree :( Anything you are not using that you can part with?

purple, my two were 50 miles away in another hospital which kind of complicated the bf thing Hmm. Still, as tree says, at least they are here now Smile.

mumface, you are right I do need them - oh dear Grin. I don't actually like the look of them too much but I'm very interested in the performance and fit, and I do like one size nappies Wink.

I've sold nearly everything really, or it's for sale and not selling. Like my snugglepants. How odd is that? They are lush! Don't want to give them away but may drop price Sad
Anyhoo, the money needs to be saved for dd1 party and something else I need to save for, plus our roof needs reparing. So I spent the £45 I had raised on dd1's ballet fee's, to try help out with it all a bit.

SO not the fluffy post I had in mind! Pah!

I'd forgotten your twins were really far apart, I am sure I knew that didn't I? It must have been the pits for you

I think we all have a duty to try the tutto. Grin You'd think they'd send us a few HmmGrin

purpletasha · 06/09/2010 08:29

Aww bagpuss :( am sorry to hear that it must have been so hard!
Tree know the feeling :( love love love fluffy post :)

CharlottesClan · 06/09/2010 10:50

got my stretchys. loving them, they dont even need boosting. left one unintentionally for 6 hours yesterday (three hours followed by a THREE HOUR nap Shock he normally only sleeps an hour) and only a teeny bit of leakage at the edges of the wrap. very impressed.

oh dear now i have to buy more. is it bad im planning of spending a large amount of the student loan on fluff??

halfway thru knitting ellens jumper, im just itching to start some longies for george in 'thomas' from TNG, its been sitting here taunting me all week :o

CharlottesClan · 06/09/2010 10:52

baguss 50 MILES away? oh you poor thing that must have been so hard for you :(

tree no fluffy post that sucks :( same here for a few weeks tho, as we had uniform to get. ellen needs new school shoes too

bagpuss · 06/09/2010 17:56

Yes, it was quite hard, especially with 3 others to look after, but I was transferred there when I was threatening labour because my local hospital had no neonatal cots available, and so it was good that they were born in such a large state of the art unit in the end. We ended up back at our local hospital once they had room which was better for travel, so all's well that ends well!

CC, the stretch bamboozles are fab aren't they? I think everyone should have a few in their stash, and that Thomas wool is so lovely - I'm thinking of some for our next soakers.

Oh Tree, love those snugglepants, I'm sure they will sell, I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Not had much in the way of fluffy post recently (not that I need it) but finally got an e-mail to say dt1's new skirty is on the needles Grin.

Also, we've been at Alder hey getting dt2's heart checked again today - appointment went well and he doesn't need to be seen for 6 more months!

purpletasha · 06/09/2010 18:40

Woop woop bagpuss, we have our app on 21st to get DT1's heart checked pretty sure all is good tho!!
Totally agree with the strecthies they held 4 1/2 hrs today :o
Thomas wool??? Confused

bagpuss · 06/09/2010 19:21

Ahh, Thomas is one of the colourways that the Nappy Garden dye their wool for nappy covers in. They also have Percy (would be soooo cute for your two I think!) and I'm rather hoping that I can persuade them to dye up a girl engine colourway so that dt1 can get in on the action too Grin. DH thinks I'm mental Hmm.

4.5 hours is pretty impressive for the stretchies! They are great for nights or long journeys - bomb proof with a ME airflow cover!

purple, hope you don't mind me asking, does dt1 have a particular condition? My dt2 has Aortic Stenosis and has already had a balloon catheter to stretch the valve back in Feb. My ds1 also has a pretty major heart condition and so I'm no stranger to this kind of thing (rather sadly). Hope all goes well for your appointment too Smile.

purpletasha · 06/09/2010 22:32

Hey bagpuss not at all DT1 has a PDA-patent ductus arteriosus. It where the valve didnt shut at birth...he had treatment but it didnt work :( am hoping tho that time will have closed it as they have now grown a bit :)
DD! has a VSD and ASD too
Poor DT2 but :o at him doing so well now! Is DS1 ok? Soo much for you to deal with.

Will have to try a ME wrap...why is it the reviews are so great what makes them different?

Thanks for the info on Thomas...can do more research now:)

Great news Bagpuss Smile

I hope the same for you purpletasha.

The nappy was a gift/tester myjob - I don't like to sell on you know? Feels ungrateful. Although I could give the £ to charity. Soooo glad Naomi's bot is better, can't believe she is nearly 2! We are 2 at end of Jan, but am in denial!

bagpuss · 08/09/2010 11:51

Aww, myjob, the next bit is just as good too Smile.

13th is a very late start for school - I was desperate when ds1 started Grin.

That is a very good idea about the Bambooty too. Or Tree, you could sell it, buy a new one and then sell that and give the money to charity when you are done. FWIW I don't think you would come across as being ungrateful doing it that way.

purple, fingers crossed for dt1. Sorry to hear that dd1 also has congenital heart defects - it is horrid when you think you've dealt with it once and then have to tread the path a second time Sad. My ds1 is fine now - he had TGA so had a full open heart surgery at 4 weeks old but has not needed anything further so far.

No nappy news here, considering tutto but trying to be good!

treedelivery · 08/09/2010 13:15

God what a lot of things you have had to cope with. I nearly flipped when dd2 was in hospital, and that was only a brief problem, and a comon one too [febrile convulsion]. 'd be sooooooo shite at dealing with worry like that.

The place I got my nappy from really supports Tommy's. So thats an obvous place to send some charity nappy funds. Smile

Had an offer on the snugglepants. It's a little low, bbut don't want to be greedy you know?

Off to bed for nights. x

Ceolas · 08/09/2010 15:53

Haven't been on this thread for a couple of years so hope you don't mind me popping on for some advice!

I've been having some problems with my Pop-Ins. We bought them for DD3 and they were only used for a couple of months then put away (I had serious sickness when pregnant with DD4 and couldn't cope with washing nappies Blush).

Anyway we've been using them on DD4 for a couple of months now (she's 12 months) and they are leaking after about 2 hours. I remember them lasting much longer with DD3. I've tried strip washing them but there's been no improvement. It's round the leg gussets that they're leaking.

Any more ideas? Or am I being unrealistic expecting them to last any longer? I generally change cloth nappies every 3 hours.

CharlottesClan · 08/09/2010 18:48

Ceolas is the insert saturated? or is it still dry in places?

myjob know what you mean about being bored by nappy covers.
the jumper is my own pattern, first one i did was for george and was a tester really, the neck line wasnt quite right, so have improved it somewhat this time round. just got to the arms and realised i dont have the right sized circular needle gggrr. so its sitting there waiting until i can be arsed/afford to get another pair of needles. beginning to think i should have bought a full set to start off with!
its bright pink chunky acrylic wool, so nothing fancy but its in the local wool shop at 1.99 a ball, and 2 balls has done a whole jumper for a 3 year old. not bad i thought while i perfect the design.

Ceolas · 08/09/2010 22:08

Charlottesclan, the inserts are wet in the middle but not the ends.

CharlottesClan · 09/09/2010 17:58

quiet in here Hmm

Ceolas, sounds like shes power weeing (too much too fast all at once)
you need to boost them in the middle where she is wetting most. i have to double boost the front of all my nappies due to the same problem (hes a boy tho Wink )
try a bamboo booster, or maybe a hemp underneath the inserts, just lie it in.

HTH :)

treedelivery · 09/09/2010 21:22

I agree with CharlottesClan Ceolas Smile

Hello folks. No news. Nappies on the line, and hopefully they dried a bit today. Too tired to face laundry so they are sitting in a basket.

CharlottesClan · 09/09/2010 22:41

aw tree why so tired? no sick kiddies i hope.
thomas has a bug already after 4 days at nursery, poor mite :(

treedelivery · 09/09/2010 22:56

Poor thing, maybe he'll get them all out of the way.

Tired cos of work and worry, but the babies are well. Ta chuch Smile

purpletasha · 10/09/2010 08:38

oh no CC hope he feels better soon :)

mumface · 10/09/2010 11:17
