What wrap are you using mumface? I love that you ordered another Tuttu from somewhere else too Grin

Are you putting an Itii Bitti 'skin' over the Boo, or something else entirely?

mumface · 03/09/2010 20:46

Oh I hadn't thought of that! Do you mean putting an Itti outer over the Boo? That's a good idea. Can reuse them whilst boosters are drying. Genius. I had tried a tots wrap over it but it was spoilt. Wanted to see nappy!

It fits over wohoo! (on dolly anyway) they are the same shape. Will try this combo tomorrow, let you know how it goes. (I had 13 suitable wraps staring me in the face and never realised it)

Aw poor Naomi!
Connor has a horrid open sore aswell today on a very tender part!, have put him in a sposie as keeping it bone dry and thick sudocrem usually clears it. Left his nappy off for a bit today and noticed he had gone very quiet in the playroom, so looked round to find him just about to put a poo nugget in his mouth! Thought I had picked it all up only to find another wedged between my toes tidyinging up Blush Lovely.

Oh, poor dd myjob Sad. My HV said to me that it was a design fault in girls - probably true as boys tend to wet more up front and at least the wee and poo can't mix up so easily and cause the ammonia which causes the rash. DT1 often gets unexplained rashes and they come on so quickly. My best cure is good old fashioned sudocrem, but I've heard that honey is also good on rashes.

Mumface, between your toes! That does sound nice! Hmm

((((tree))))) Hope all is well now.

purple, my dh the same. He counted my stash the other day Biscuit

ziggy, how exciting, we need reviews and pics! and feel free to crash in and let us corrupt you share Grin.

Hi all.....DT's have not really suffered with nappy rash but DD2 was awful thats why i started on CN with her. Found vasogen worked really well tho had to order it in from the chemist. Do hope the poorly bits get better soon!

Treedelivery you have given me hope! What did you use for DD1 as she got bigger?

Off to bed now as DH will prob feel rejected if i spend more time talking nappies and looking at them on Google...think i may be getting slightly obsessive....and am actually quite jealous of everyones vast nappy collections...will have to go shop :o

ziggyf · 04/09/2010 11:17

thanks for the welcome Grin

Just a quickie as the monster baby is having a quick snooze! I've got a silver Tutto, it's bootiful. Only had it on for an hour until we had a poonami - naughty boy! - but v impressed with fit and the poo fence. I'm on the hunt for a more reliable AIO/SIO or poss a pocket as I don't get on with BGs and normal Ittis don't always cope with my boy's explodapoos. How do I upload a photo? I'm a total saddo and yes I did take pictures Blush

myjobismum & mumface - eek, that sounds nasty. My friend used some kind of burn dressing (jelonet?) when her DS had awful nappy rash. It was terrible though, really looked like an acid burn poor boy. He gets really bad when he's teething.

mumface · 04/09/2010 11:25

Connors is better today, it always heals fast. Just aswell as My itti tutto is here tooo! Grin
4- Bugaboo bag is here aswell, Thanks I love it, it's bigger than I expected Smile

Thanks for the night nappy suggestions :)

I've just been trialling a Monk N Bear nappy. Frankly I know my way around a cloth nappy but this one is really confusing! Not convinced for that very reason.

Re nappy rash - I like Bepanthen as it's quite light, and I also love Burts Bees diaper cream but it's got essential oils in so would need a skin test first - and be careful using it on broken down skin. But I found it very healing on sore, but intact skin.

Hi all.

Sorry for the rashes Sad Horrible horrible things. We have found metanium the best - but only if it's put on a very thin layer, almost patted on. Anymore and it dries her out.

On dd1, who only trained in June, we just used the biggest pampers we coul dfind. She refused a washable. I never made her not wear a nappy, or 'trained'. We took the same approach with getting her out of nappies, which she did the month before she turned 3. In both cases she said she didn't want to wear a nappy and wouldbe fine. Never had an accident

DD2 is already patting her nappy and saying 'wee-a' to tell us when she has done one, I bet she trains early Sad Will miss my nappies!!

CharlottesClan · 04/09/2010 20:51

gosh so sorry to hear about poorly skin, ive never had persistent nappy rash, and when we get the occasional teething poo burns, i just let him walk around naked all afternoon and clear up after him (we have wooden floors Wink)

genious about the bitti boo and itti skins :)

tree george does that and says 'eeeerrrrccchhh' when he does it. he also pulls his dinkle right before peeing if naked. think he will be an early trainer too :( i feel your pan :(

purpletasha - which nappies do we use? you sitting comfortably? :o no seriously atm, the stash is just wnnl, terry squares, a few mutts, and various unused pockets. i have loads of wool for covers, and loads of wraps for days dh has him. (dont trust a man with longies and a ds all day.. bake beans stains. ill say no more)

bagpuss · 04/09/2010 21:36

myjob, just quickly, I have remembered that the dts had something prescribed whilst in hospital - may be worth asking your gp/pharmacist about anyway, it is called orabase. Once you put it on the skin you can't move it around like a normal nappy cream as it comes off but you just sort of pat it on and it forms like a crust. You then have to wait for it to fall off (hopefully the skin underneath is healed by then). You can't disrupt it if you clean the bottom but have to go around it until it goes but it really worked on the dts prem skin very well. They were on 6 hourly nappy changes with p**rs nappies so not surprising they had terrible bottoms really. The pre-term formula was pretty gross too and not unlike what you have described with N.

Seems like a lifetime ago now - 11 months to the day to be exact Shock.

mumface · 05/09/2010 08:40

Well, Tutto's is on this morning, I think I really prefer the fit of the sized Itti's. This is not as cute and snug looking.
The bubblegums is a really sickly pink. But the poo fence looks brilliant and really puts it a step ahead. It also goes a fair bit bigger than a large Itti too.
I don't think the inserts look complicated. They are all colour coded as before. I would definately get a load of these for a new baby. Can't say how absorbent they are as I havn't even pre-washed it yet!

Quick Post as I'm at inlaws, haven't had any Internet at home since Thursday :( should be back on tomorrow

purpletasha · 05/09/2010 19:12

Bagpuss have used orabase on the old folks i have looked after when they get pressure sores its quite good! and cannot believe that NNU only did 6 hrly changes on the DTS mine were done every 3 unless they had poo'd...have pics of my dts in the ittis will email you a copy :)

CC lol at th DH and beans :O not tried wool covers....another thing to look into :) DH is gonna love me!

Have a lack of fleeces atm but in a moment of desparation used a tesco value mf cloth and it worked great...no wicking!! Think i may just splash out 91p for three and cut them up! :)

bagpuss · 05/09/2010 19:57

Yes purple, ours were done 6 hourly to begin with and when they got more onto demand feeding it was every feed but it did make things difficult - not much contact meant less opportunity to bf Sad. I know that it is because the less the babies are handled, the less calories they burn up which is crucial to their weight gain, they were very keen on this in the large NNU in the hospital they were born in although when we were transferred back to our local hospital the staff there were less worried about this which was better.

Something else funny I thought was that p**rs were pretty much the only pre-term nappies we could buy locally and were encouraged to by the NNU. The dts had their own clothes and had a little sign on their cots saying something like "I wear my own clothes, please give them back to mummy and daddy to wash", the picture on the little sign had a baby wearing a cloth nappy with a tots bots nappy cover on Grin. No cloth nappy had ever been near that NNU, I'm pretty sure of it Hmm.

Aww, at tiny twins in ittis Smile and yes you must do wool, good with grobags and heavy wetters too! Tesco mf cloths are a lifesaver and brilliant value - I had forgotten about them but they may solve our current booster shortage!

mumface, you are a bad influence, I'm currently debating buying a couple of tuttos and a couple of boos to complete my itti set Grin. How is the tutto for wing droop? I may sell my bambootys to part fund as I'm fed up of the droop and leakage we get with them, on the other hand, they are so cute Grin.

mumface · 05/09/2010 20:22

No wing droop at all bagpuss, I tried it without the extra snaps which are for this as wasn't sure if he needed them and the front was a bit puckered up, kind of the front folding out a bit aswell which is what can happen with sized ones. Then I did them up and it had a nice snug tummy with no wing droop.
They are also much wider around bum/crotch area and have a seam around leg holes unlike ordinary Itti's. You NEED 2. Better than Bambootys, the poo fence goes all around the top of the bum aswell, so no poo back!
