Oh I never blew my nose when young unless it was on the sleeve of my jumper. It is only dd1 because she is a 'goody goody yes Miss!'

Rosa · 21/10/2009 20:34

No honestly it is easy really easy - Delia just waffles....
Lemon / sugar / water in pan.
Cornfour and rest of water in bowl - mixx to get rid of lumps. POur floury stuff into pan stir until it thickens. Add eggs and butter - done ( takes 5 mins)
Whisk up egg whites and the add sugar - done
Pre cook the frolla for about 10 mins so it goes a bit golden - prick the bottom but mine always raises anyway so I just prick it.
Shove the creamy stuff in , Bung whites on top and bung in oven........
Both dh and I have snotty shoulders as minirosa loves wiping her nose on us..So does my sofa and probably all the cushions as well....When I have my new house and I win the lottery the girls will have all this stuff in the playroom and I will have my divano &divani just for me.......

Rosa · 21/10/2009 20:35

The only bit when the childen cannot call you is when you are stirring the cornflour over the heat ...Always use a whisk and keep water at hand if it gets to sticky ....

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 21/10/2009 20:35

Rosa · 21/10/2009 20:42

Oh and my washing machine EUro 50 to take a 2cents coin out of the filter..........How I took the p*iss out of dh for not being manly and looking further. He said it must be internal ( the filter) as he couldn't see it. I believed him and diddn't read the instructions ....That will teach me . Oh and the coin was his as I don't put coins in my pockets !!!!

OP posts:
TheMysticMasseuse · 21/10/2009 20:56

francaghostohollywood · 21/10/2009 21:01

Oh I will deffo try it rosa!

Masseuse, lol at stickers!

JavierBardem · 21/10/2009 21:12

poor buch! teacher needs a bit of training!

pippi, pita being at home with sick bimbi, and it's half term after that. This reminds me that it is unlikely I will be able to make the meet up, as I need to be at eleven in west London, but will expect a full report, gossip, etc.

penthe, good news about the nanny!

rosa, I don;t even know where the washing machine filter is...and I don't want to know.

a presto

TheMysticMasseuse · 21/10/2009 21:15

yes meetup. who is coming? and where are we meeting???

francaghostohollywood · 21/10/2009 21:16

Oh I will miss your meet up!

Hopefully I'll manage to convince Masseuse to meet somewhere al confine... maybe Livigno?

Camomilla · 21/10/2009 22:24

finally managed to get a connection! yuppi! it always lets me down when I'm home alone and can have proper chat with you lovely ladies!! so had to have another slice of banoffee pie out of despair...

Meetup - as long as we're all fine, we're being kicked out the house by DP so he can install radiator in conservatory so Camo + 2, but don't know where... Pippi, if DDs well enough, then they could dress up (BTW, it sounds like what I've had, and the temp has taken a week to go. the cough is terrible, especially at night with DD still in our room.... and DD's getting worse, just hoping it's just cold/cough and not the start of something)

don't get me started on the green stuff.... DS learnt really early to blow his nose, then had a bad ear pop episode and refuses to do it (just about stareting again now). his bedroom wall right above his bed is plastered with it, I've given up cleaning it as the old mauve paint will otherwise come through. there are a couple of marks above my bed's header and the sofa. if he wears long sleeves, it can look as if snails have been racing across them....

francaghostohollywood · 21/10/2009 22:39

Camo I wondered where you were (eating banoffee pie eh? )

Speaking of snot, yesterday I was in Du Pareil Au meme (I didn't buy anything, I swear... and it was hard to resist) and admiring a lovely coat, when I realized some child must have blown his nose in it. bleurgh!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 21/10/2009 22:39

So you all think she should not go to school tomorrow? What is the rule - one day without temp? OH I soo hope for her sake that she'll be allright for friday.

minipippi's cough is absolutely dreadful - she's just being sick on her pillow so strong it was. She's now cuddling up with dh more for his sake than hers I feel.

LI e' un lazzaretto!

Camomilla · 21/10/2009 22:49

&*$£(&%$£ connection keeps on going

si, proprio un lazzareto...

franca, there's half in the fridge, want some?

pippi, I think I'd keep her home another day, more likely not to miss the party that way.

poor minipippi... so sweet though when they cuddle up to daddy...

Sputnik · 21/10/2009 23:01

Ah poor little ones. And big ones having to look after them.
DD's school photo from last year features really delightful trails of snot up each arm of her shirt. Actually that really symbolises last winter for me! Here's to a better one this year.

Am feeling happy as DH seems to have salvaged our hard disk which was buggered. It was the one with all our photos on and hadn't been backed up since May, so would've been very sad to lose. That and some boring work stuff such as all my fatture!

gio71 · 22/10/2009 07:53

Penthe good news re the Nanny, and also the no tears when you left.
Buch am just re maestra and pellice. How did the meeting with her go?? How was dd yesterday-back to normal?
Pippi how are your girls this morn?
We ended up at the Ambulatorio at Bambino Gesu yesterday. DS's breathing wasn't getting better with aerosol. Glad we went as turns out he doesnt have bronchitis, he has laryngitis so we had to ditch the aerosol. He has been given an inhaler and 2 heavy duty doses of cortisone and we have to go back Fri morning. They are sooooo lovely there. Was in for at least half an hour, they examined him thoroughly, no rushing, asked loads of questions etc. Oh and they actually said to take him out for a few hours a day as well so was all excited thinking could escape my prison and no-it's going to be chucking it down all day .
Good news re hard disk Sputnik. I really must back up our PC, I back up the laptop regularly as work from it but can't remember last time did PC and has all our photos on it.

minervaitalica · 22/10/2009 08:43

Hello!

Apologies for disappearing but I have to add our names to the bollettino di guerra. DH and I have gone down with some kind of gastro-intestinal virus (the unpleasant stuff - you know what I mean). Now my mum and dad and aunt have gone down with it as well... The only one (fingers crossed) who has survived so far is DD who has been very very active in the last couple of days... Anyway we are all getting better so I am sending positive vibes to those who are still unwell!!!

Masseuse, glad to know you have made the decision re: the flat - it sounds like the right thing to do in your circumstances...

Buch at the maestra, for both the lack of educational know-how and the pellicce. I did not think that babies got sent "al muro" any more

francaghostohollywood · 22/10/2009 12:11

Oh dear Minerva that sounds awful. I hate gastro intestinal viruses, they are awful.

And Gio poor ds, I hope the new medication works asap. And glad to hear the doctors were nice

It's a real lazzaretto here. Help!!!

gio71 · 22/10/2009 12:54

poor you Minerva. I would rather have flu than gastro bugs. Glad you're on the mend

Rosa · 22/10/2009 13:17

WHat a bundle of sickies ....Minerva I feel very sorry for you I hate the D&V sooo much and with minirosa I did enough vomiting to last me a lifetime - I got a bug at 4 mths.Pippi I would honestly keep her at home as long as you can and maybe just take her in for the party if she is well enough.
Gio your poor ds can they not put cortisone in the aerosol - CLineil ???
Yeeeh to the taking ds out for fresh air - finally some sense. We have blessed aqua alta today - dd did really well walking in it but I left her buggy at school as it was too deep ! DOmani will be stuffed if it is up again as I am alone and no way am I taking my bugaboo through Acqua alta !!!

OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 22/10/2009 13:23

Ooooh acqua alta! Brrrrrrr and so cold here as well! I'm having a lovely cuppa.
And today I have to take ds to football practice... in this cold? Luckily I can wait for him in the bar !

minervaitalica · 22/10/2009 15:41

Lol at Bugaboo through acqua alta... I wonder whether they tested it for that. Perhaps you should start a pram thread on this one...

Am really bored today, DD playing up and it has been raining continuously for the last 24 hrs. So have baked a cake instead, ate huge amounts of raw batter, and am now mumsnetting (that's exercise, right?).

Thankfully no football in the cold for us Franca - although DH is threatening to send DD to rugby when she's bigger (is that even allowed in Italy?)

gio71 · 22/10/2009 15:56

can I ask a stupid question? I have to give ds a second dose of cortisone this eve. They are dissolvable in water. Can I mix the dissolved solution with juice to make sure he drinks it? Is this allowed?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 22/10/2009 16:01

Gio no idea. Poor ds. Glad all is better though.

Minerva if it is any confort to you I have been eating constantly for a week. Really. I don't know what is the problem but all I seem to do is crave biscuits, bread, butter, sugar. I feel sluggish and awful and crave a big healthy salad.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 22/10/2009 16:01

Gio I would assume so though.
