LOL Rosa at dd negotiating. My dd is very good at that and I often fall for it. I'd never give in to a tantrum but if she negotiate she manages to get a lot a lot more than I planned!

I've ordered yogurt. Will make cake tomorrow. So what exactly would you change?

McC will do no prob. I think it is just lievito vanigliato though. But you must must have it, like I said, if nothing else for the pictures on the sachets.

Rosa · 10/04/2009 15:10

I used Sunflower oil and I was wondering if I used 1/2 melted butter half oil ( similar to muffins) it would be more buttery and less oily ! But to be honest it was fun to make as she did all the scooping and pouring - we put sprinkles on the top of ours afterwards ..Oligatory on all cakes in our house - I did an icing top with a bit of icing sugar and a juice of an orange ( a couple of spoonfuls - dd drank teh rest)
Dd is that bit younger than yours and I could see that she loved the Naturino with butterflies but they wouldn't be practical - plus they were expensive. I could see that she really liked them It was more of a voglio rather than a tantrum and she was so funny when she said she wanted both I gave in . I am lucky as she is still believes that some things live in shops !!!!!

will try this yogurth recipe as well - at the beginning i actually understood one ate it raw which perplexed me a bit - goodness i am a terrible cook. might lower the sugar as well, as i will probably end up eating most of it ..

I need to stay off cake making for a while, made way too many lemon drizzles recently!
Just been traipsing around Rome with GPs over from UK, been lovely- had the nicest gelato ever-mela and cannella-tasted like apple pie. Rosa, we went to Fare Ambiente to drop some stuff off- thanks for that link.
Am so excited, we are doing a ground force thing for my parents while they are over for their 40th anniversary. We are getting their front garden (a mess!), dug out and made into a drive. Getting all paintwork done, hanging baskets etc. They have no idea. My sister, brothers and some lovely neighbours who insisted on helping are doing it all as a surprise while they are over here. Am GUTTED wont be there to see their faces when back.
Sputnik are you around? Are you still feeling these aftershocks-the one yesterday evening felt pretty strong I thought.
Anyway happy easter all and tanti auguri!

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 10/04/2009 19:08

gio i hope your parents like the work!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 10/04/2009 19:48

Wow Gio such a lovely lovely thing to do. I bet they'll be crying of happiness! Must let us know.
Apple and cannella icecream sound deeeelicious!

Rosa · 10/04/2009 19:52

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 12/04/2009 10:14

BUONA PASQUA!!!!

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 12/04/2009 11:48

Buona Pasqua! can i pick your brain girls? how necessary is a cooker hood in a kitchen? we are thinking of doing without ours to be more minimalist..

Penthe where did you go? I wonder if she moved and is wallpapering?

Rosa · 12/04/2009 14:19

Happy Easter .... ARe you planning on having an extractor fan usually a hood is a way to hide that ..A Fan I would say is essential - I don't have one and my kitchen ( and house stinks) when I do anything smelly !

OP posts:
McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 12/04/2009 14:35

yes, meant a fan. mmm. we have one and we never use it becasue it so noisy, so we thought of getting rid of it. boh.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/04/2009 09:46

we have one and it is a noisy thing as well and we hrdly use it. However if we cook a steak or something smelly is a bit of a must. I suppose if you use the grill in the oven it is not so indispesabile.
My answer is BOH!

Choc and pear cake is deeeelish. 1000 calories but so easy and looks the business. it's very french bistrot kind of cake. especially good now that you all have tons of chock to get rid of.

here's the recipe of what's called ZIO ARMI PEAR AND CHOC TART! (and you must call it that if you make it!)

as I could not be bothered to make pasta frolla I bought chilled shortcrust and rolled it and put it as a base. put 100gr dark choc chunks at the bottom and cover with a mixture of 200ml of extra this double cream and egg. cover with 3/4 sliced pears.
in the oven for 10min at 200 and then 30min at 180 or when the top is brown.
Leave to cool down a bit.

ciao.

BUONA ASQUETTA A TUTTI, like dd1 says!

Rosa · 13/04/2009 12:51

Sounds lovely but rather too fattening for this house ... Mind you It is worth saving for if we ever have friends over !
Venice is heaving so we just went for a walk this am - it is HOT as in crema solare and capelli for the dd !!
Dh working and he is out tonight ...well it Pasqua so he says ( I said I diddn't want any chocolate this year so I diddn't get anything I had hinted at a pretty flower I had seen - hint missed !!!)

heeellooo everyone and buona pasquetta- we are just back from a really nice holiday, and here's one bit you are going to love (one of you in particular!) we stayed in a cottage that was featured in Grand Designs! well, the annex to it anyway!

it was simply fantastic- expensive but totally worth it, super equipped for babies including loads of toys for dd1 etc, and in a great location (New Forest). dds had a great time, dd2 learned to stand (finally!!) and is showing worrying signs of having a rather feisty temper- she's now trying to steal dd1's toys all the time and driving her insane. she's also getting quite strong now that she's finally started eating. and dd1 stayed in her bed all night every night- which hasn't happened, well, never. i told her on friday we can go to John Lewis together to choose a special duvet to sleep all night in her bed as well.

mmmhh all your culinary prowess sounds fantastic. i really need to lose weight, i HATE my post two pregnancies body and need to lose the ab flab... i HAVE to stick to a diet this time... so bloody hard

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/04/2009 21:12

Wow BS it does sound a fantastic place and that you had a fab time too. especially with childfree nights !

I don't know why I'm baking all these cakes as really all I need is to keep my belly for all to see.

We've got 3 kilos og choc as well... what to do with it?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/04/2009 21:13

BS when is your dd2 going to be one? sorry I forgot.

beforesunrise · 13/04/2009 21:15

dd2 will be 1 in May. and well, we didn't compleltey have childfree nights as i took dd2 in with us instead.. i never learn, do i

beforesunrise · 13/04/2009 21:15

when is your dd2 1 Pippi? BTW meant to say- I love her name, it was on my shortlist for dd2 but vetoed by DH...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/04/2009 21:26

really? thanks. it's a shame that we call her evrything but that. poor child. was the same with dd1 though. she 're-owned' her name at around 2ish I think.

She was one 10 days ago. and she's got two more teeth out, the upper canines (sp) but she forgot the upper front ones so she looks like dracula.

you do never learn naught bs . mind you you'll have these times to remember when they are teenagers and they won't even want tot give you a hug while I will regret locking them away ala Jane Eyre ( in case SS reads this!)

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/04/2009 21:29

which name do you mean by the way. quello che fa rima con 'tutta panna'?

beforesunrise · 13/04/2009 21:31

si si tutta panna so sweet.

i am so hopeless with the sleep thing, and i am fairly sure that by the time they're teenagers we won't even remember what respective approach to sleep each of us took.... it does get me down occasionally, but on the whole i think it's just who i am- if they could magically sleep through, then it would be great, but i am not able to do anything to make them...

ok- exhausted, and back in the office tomorrow- off to bed!!!
