watching a repeat of sex and the city to cheer myself up..

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 15/04/2009 21:33

it is the one where samantha and the girls go for tantrik sex lessons.

francagoestohollywood · 15/04/2009 22:30

Oh wow BS the place looks amazing!!!

Ah the tantric (sp?) sex episode? Have I bored you all already with my passion for sex and the city? Think so.

Have just been to the cinema and watched Milk, but didn't think it was a great movie. Weird as I love sean penn (whose acting is amazing in it) and usually enjoy Van Sant's style. Boh, it might be much better in original language.

And btw I now have a crash on James Franco.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 15/04/2009 22:43

god you like them boyish, just checked him out online, not my thing, but for anyone else here he is www.vimooz.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/james_franco.jpg

now i am watching the sandthecity episode where samantha picks up a guy who has an enormous penis, too big infact. and mr big announces he is engaged. i love sex and the city.

francagoestohollywood · 15/04/2009 22:49

mmmmmm yep! Though he doesn't look that good in that pic, I think mc. Much better in Milk, with long curly hippish (sp?) hair !

Oh yes, SATC is great on so many levels. Love love love it.

francagoestohollywood · 16/04/2009 13:59

Moaning time: I have a vicious stiff neck

Penthesileia · 16/04/2009 14:06

Aw, poor franca? Do you have a "happy neck" inflatable support wotzit? DH has one - from Italy, which is why I ask - and it is surprisingly effective. Hope you recover soon.

I, on the other hand, don't like SATC: or, rather, I watch it guiltily (like eating Galaxy chocolate, when you know you should be eating Green & Blacks, or whatever). I find it politically a bit meh. But it is addictive.

Rosa · 16/04/2009 14:07

Never did get into SATC - HAve not seen the flim either - Neck is it anything to do with your sore shoulder / arm or have you just got a colpa di Aria ????
Minirosa is a real rompe its doing my head in - However she has just dropped off so I shoud go and maybe wash up lunch plates ???

francagoestohollywood · 16/04/2009 14:16

Oh hello you two

No, I don't have a happy neck, will look into it. I don't think it's related to the sore arms (now fine ), but I've been suffering from stiff neck for yrs (my back has been giving me trouble after a fall from the stairs ages ago, but most of all after dd's birth). So I often suffer from it. This time is pretty bad. Seeing the physio on wednesday, thank goodness.

It's certainly linked to colpi d'aria , as everything is...

Penthe, really? I think it is the green and black (remember, it's been bouht by cadbury ) of tv dramas...

Sputnik · 16/04/2009 16:10

I'm back
Had a lovely time, and the weather was not too bad. DS was a total nightmare on the plane though.

I'm now feeling quite refreshed, and happy to be home. Lots of flowers have come out in the meantime and asparagus seems to be half the price it was when I left. Maybe the strawberries will soon be edible too.

francagoestohollywood · 16/04/2009 16:35

Oh hello sputnik!!!
Yes, not much to go for the strawberries now! And ribes is growing nicely in mil garden too, which the dc are looking forward to. Ds has eaten his first glicine of the season

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 16/04/2009 20:18

penthe must be a CT thing. when I was at uni I felt the same as you about satc and friends, I'd watch them guiltily when I needed a break. Now that I am braindead I'll watch it guilt free alongside all the rest of the crap ( satc NOT crap btw)they show on telly (haven't quite goten to daytime tv yet).

Sputnik · 16/04/2009 20:36

I really liked the 1st series of SATC, where they had all those Annie Hall-like interuptions, but they got rid of them later as obviously too intelligent. I enjoyed the rest in a fairly uncritical way, but by the last series it was a bit too formulaic really. Haven't seen the film.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 16/04/2009 20:41

oh, i love it, in a shallow sort of way. i don't watch daytime telly. yet.

Rosa · 16/04/2009 20:52

Sputnik welcome back glad you had a good time did you do lots of shopping ??
McLoud - no daytime tv you don't know what you are missing

OP posts:
McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 16/04/2009 20:54

i did put telly around 3 oclock one day, but it was to watch bbc24. I swear!

Sputnik · 16/04/2009 21:05

Evening Rosa. We totally messed up on the shopping front for various reasons, which was just as well as we ae skint really. I did manage to go to ELC and get DS a birthday present from his great Grandma, but otherwise a wasted opportunity really.

I finally got to see The Apprentice, speaking of TV. You lot in the UK contingent will have t keep me updated now.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 16/04/2009 21:10

oh sputnik watched yesterday. I became addicted to it in the last couple of years.
please let's talk about it!!

I used to watch daytime tv when dd1 was just born, I had to stop after a few weeks/onths don;t remember because I felt lobotomized.

satc the movie def formulaic. wouldn't bother as much.

francagoestohollywood · 16/04/2009 21:22

Haven't seen the movie, it doesn't appeal for some reasons. But I do think that SATC is a great, intelligent drama ...

I used to watch loads of daytime tv in the UK when my little ones were tiny and napped. Lots of "Escape to the country" and lots of birth progs on discovery health...

Have just watched Extreas for the first time and I'm still .

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 16/04/2009 21:29

no, movies sounds crap, and the ladies have aged! felt so surprised when i read that the actresses hate each other.

missed the apprentice this time round. well watched the first episode, but had to swicth off as all the contestants were so hideous, not so much physically i mean (lots of bad skins though), but just really ignorant and thick.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 16/04/2009 21:31

I'm sitting at the table sticking cuttings from magazines into my homedesign notebook

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 16/04/2009 21:45

homedesign notebook? i only havee a folder, emptish these days...
i saw some amazing floor lamps sbirciando in people's houses today and thought of you.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 16/04/2009 21:50

FRANCA!!! How can you not like the tripp trapp?????? What's not to like???

beforesunrise · 17/04/2009 08:09

i used to really love SATC until it was until sex, friendship, and, well, the city. i think it was really empowering. then it became all about the shoes (which were only a marginal part of the thing really) and i stopped liking it. the movie was tragic. carrie and co had been my heroes for so long and those shallow, one-dimensional, selfish b*tches in the movie were NOT them.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/04/2009 08:15

so very right BS. It was such a let down.

Anyway to talk about more important things today at 3pm I will know which school DD1 will be attending. This is worse than Xmas!!
