E primavera ...Buona Pasqua Tutti .......

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 13:06

uhhhhhhhhh you poor thing: headache is bad . I have friends who suffer from emicrania and I know it is vile. Torcicollo was so bad at some point yesterday that even my ears ached.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 14:08

is torcicollo gone franca? sorry for not having been very sympathetic to your maladies but I was too self absorbed. Although nothing has changed I feel I've come out of a dark hole and everything is bright again. it does help that it is a sunny lovely day.

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 14:24

Pippi, sei matta??? . You know that I just like to moan!

I'm happy to hear you are feeling more positive. Actually you didn't sound that stressed at all: respect!!! I'd have inscenato un dramma, spreading anxiety all over the net!

Is sunflower back?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 14:54

WHAT? DIDN'T I? Oh my god I have been a good miserable sad cow all weekend. living in my own head and bursting into tears at every opportunity and feeling shit when looking at dd. I now realise that aside from the normal upset and shock I was also pms so you can imagine.
speaking to a lot of people everyone was shocked I did not get one place. but now I'm very positive, I'm sure dd will go where she's meant to go.

Brangelina · 20/04/2009 15:04

Oh Pippi were you really down? Sorry, I didn't realise. I was just highly irritated when I found we didn't get in. In your case though at least they're obliged to find your DD a place. so it will all work out in the end, no? Or am I having too much faith in the UK system?

Franca, I didn't spot that you had torcicollo! I skim read too quickly the othre day. What a pain (literally), are you walking around like a robot unable to turn your head? Were you wondering around without a scarf thnking it was summer? You have my sympathies, I quite often get a stiff shoulder/neck, mainly from inappropriate sleeping positions, and it is annoying, people always seem to call you from your stiff side. My nadir moment in terms of back rigidity was the time I managed to get torcicollo plus colpo della strega. Getting out of my very low bed was a spectacle, not to mention getting on my bicycle. Fortunately it is now a distant memory.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 15:45

yes they'll give her a place but god knows where so that's not necessarily good. But like I said it'll be okay in the end I know.

when would this mini child of mine learn to walk on her own. it's been almost 5 months having this little monkey attached to my legs/arms. wherever I go she's there trying to hang onto my trousers... !

I'm having a lazy relaxing day...

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 16:08

Pippi, no, not at all, you sounded very dignified . I'm pretty sure it'll work out fine. We'll keep our fingers crossed for you.

Brange, I took another Aulin today and I'm seeing physio wednesday morning (we can meet after that, if you can?). I've been suffering from torcicollo for quite a while now. It is still very uncomfortable . I think I should have massages on a weekly basis to feel good the whole time, but sadly it's just too expensive.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 19:26

can you get your dh to give you a massage every day? dp is very good at massages, used to regale (is that a word?) me with long massages when we first met, now of course i get bugger all, or if he gives me one, he expects immediately one back.
what about borsa dell'acqua calda per il torcicollo?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 19:44

gio how are you today? have you called anybody with advice or info? I bet you had a similar weekend.

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 19:55

nah, dh is useless with massages, and is also not very generous with grattate di schiena as well, which I am fond of

Yes, Gio, have you heard from the scuola materna?

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 21:11

now i feel like a grattata di schiena. mannaggia.

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 21:15

me too. I could pay for a nice grattata di schiena.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 21:24

oh, franca, i really need one now, and dp is not here. and kids are asleep.

i just postend on a bloody education thread and have also been reading the one about whether we can influence our children's path. sometimes i hate being a parent. it irritates me so much when people say "i want the best for my kids", because they almost seem to imply "and fuck everyone else's kids.." .

beforesunrise · 20/04/2009 21:24

mccloud saw your post on the other thread. well done, i love it. i think it is much more helpful to admit that we are all worried about the social aspect of things and that then things work out well, rather than just pontificate away...

some of the private schools nearby are attended by the offspring of famous actors/actresses/models, many of whom are well known for their drug abuse and heavy partying. now, that i would consider bad influence...

i have to stop getting involved on those threads... it's just i think about that crap soo much...

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 20/04/2009 21:28

pippi, glad you feel better, hopefully you'll get a place at one of your choices...

Hi, franca, yes, got back on thurs, logged in for quick read, but just been busy, p*ed off at so-called friends, and sooooooooooo tired.... aprile dolce dormire I guess.... plus DS and DD got used to the "italian" lack of routine.. DD didn't even want her milk tonight she was so lively and too busy looking around... but back to usual tram-tram tomorrow with DS back to school. hope you get your neck sorted soon, had torcicollo just before I went back home (in my case I seem to twist s.thing getting out of bed )

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 21:39

oh hello sunflower . What happened with so called friends? (sorry, I'm nosey, I know)

Mccloud, I'm lolling now at the thought of you asking your dd to please scratch your back

Ohmygod, I cannot stand he phrase "I want the best for my kids" as well for the same reasons. It reminds me of a scene in Bianca, where Moretti goest to visit Bianca's partner and tells him something like: "Lo so che tipo sei, tu hai il tuo macellaio, che ti tiene i pezzi migliori.." "e che c'e' di male scusa? "che a me da i pezzi peggiori, ecco che c'e'"........

MintyyAeroEgg · 20/04/2009 21:41

Knock knock. Can I come in? Not sure if this is the right place. Do you all live in Italy?

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 21:42

hi sunflower! and hi bs!

cannot imagine anything worse than the little darling girls of famous models/actresses, the levels of spoildome (is there such a word?) must be very high. but then that's another prejudice.

give me any day a refugee family who worked its butt off to get here to offer their kids a better life/education. now, they will make their kids work hard and focus.

bs what was your personal opinion of the private schools you visited? are you close to the state school where a. campbell sent his kids? went past it the other day, meant to be very good now..

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 21:44

you are all so right. I'm going to look at those threads quickly before I go to bed.

btw I'm looking at plants online. very very stepfordy.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 21:46

oh, grazie, grazie, franca, that's so good, must remember to re-watch bianca....

ohhh, my little dd, even if she could scratch, she is too sick and sleeping lots. infact can i ask if i should take her to the gp. since saturday she has stopped having her 3 meals and 3 snacks a day, and only has 2 bottles of milk instead of 3. i know it's a virus, so i guess the gp is not a good idea. it's just that she eats basically lots, so her not eating is a bit perplexing.

minty, some of us are in the uk, some in italy, we are a mixture of Italians/English women.

francagoestohollywood · 20/04/2009 21:48

Oh hello Minty. We are a mixed bunch. Some Italians living in the UK, some English living in Italy. I'm Italian now living in Italy, after 8 yrs in the UK. And you?

Pippi . Step away from plants online, now!

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 21:50

www.marshalls-seeds.co.uk/?gclid=CM38vLGqgJoCFRSRZgodsGMoGA

they are meant to be good for seeds and plants.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 20/04/2009 21:51

AND I AM NOT A STEPFORD, I SWEAR!!!!!

MintyyAeroEgg · 20/04/2009 21:54

Hi Franca. Thought I'd slipped under the radar .

Reason I ask is, I am very excited, and coming to Italy for first time since I was 10 years old, at the end of May.

Me and DH. 2 days near Bologna (sadly only 2 days, sniff). DH will be working on a documentary. I will have a day free and so am wondering what to do in that fair city.

Would also love to know how to say "hello" "goobye" and "coffee with milk please" please!

Thanks so much. Have never tagged along on one of DH's trips abroad before (and he has had many) but then he has never been to Italy before ...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/04/2009 21:56

hmm I've now got a wish list of plants for the garden. In my defense I only 'care' about the garden in spring. the rest of the year it can do what he likes and I'll buy boots and coats.

night night girls. want to go to dh who's been an angel throughout my misery.
