Ciao, hello, welcome!

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 21:52

That is a lovely living room. Is it more or less the same size as the new one? Are you going to go for light blue walls? I like it (and we have the stripey rug)

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 21:52

pippi. I have 2, actually

Sputnik · 16/03/2009 22:03

Pretty much that size (ie not very big), but the kitchen is joined onto it with a bar-height dividing wall IYSWIM, the programme doesn't let you do that kind of thing. Walls should be white, didn't come out that way! I love that rug, now I have to convince DH (or maybe just sneak off and get it)

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 22:10

Sounds very good. I'd love an open plan kitchen. Very handy for watching the children

The rug is lovely and still in good shape after 4 yrs. I recommend it!

Bedtime for me, 'notte

viggoandjavier · 17/03/2009 11:18

Anch'io ci ho una cartella di plastica piena di illustrazioni ritagliati dai giornaly for my dream house. lol

francagoestohollywood · 17/03/2009 13:02

lol. I'm also attracted by "mood boards" if that's the name. You know where you pin bits of matching fabrics/colour samples etc

Rosa · 17/03/2009 13:06

I have 2 spoonfuls scraped off her bum and off the top of the nappy . .. I am hoping to get another couple with the next explosion.
She has not lost weight so I am pretty relieved mind you the anti diarrohea milk was so dense and sweet I would have been surprised if she had not at least kept the same.
MIL is most miffed that I diddn't get the sample to the osp this morning - I was up at 3 am trying to squeeze the nappy but she had done it earlier and I haddn't heard !
My dream house exists in my mind as if I put the things I wanted in a book I would need to be treated for depression!
I ordered Minirosas buggy last night I had 3 mouthfuls of wine and crikey I went mad ....Dh might have to sell a kidney !
the bee
I did not buy it from there- in fact got it from the Uk and its cheaper with postage than buying in Italy but this linked to pink which is what I bought I hope for my sake that it is a godd one for this blessed city !

francagoestohollywood · 17/03/2009 13:24

Oh good job rosa . Good to hear dd hasn't lost weight either.

I just watched the demonstration of the Bee: . I want one! I thought I was past this, but I'm having major pram envy .

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 17/03/2009 15:09

I like the beee. thought it was great (except for price tag) when it first came out. but having a frog (luckily financed at the time by ignara MIL) I could not justify it for a minute so got a crappy chicco smthing for a fiver on ebay which we hardly use because it breaks your back. so those evil bigabbo things are worth every penny imo if you walk a lot - which you would in venice or here. a woman with a newborn stopped me the other day asking me what I though of my battered frog. I sounded like a salesman!

had a busy day which looked like was going to be a useless one, but I saved myself in the end per il rotto della cuffia .

Sputnik · 17/03/2009 15:12

Yay Rosa, hai fatto!
Franca you can make moodboards on mydeco too you know. Come on, sign up. You can stop whenever you like you know

Rosa · 17/03/2009 15:35

Phew ...I liked the frog as well but you can only buy it all as a tris with a pram top etc etc which I don't need as the good old peg pram is still hanging in there.
had another nappy scrape .. I scrape and dh changes - it works as i get there before it has time to soak....how much cr*p do they need????

francagoestohollywood · 17/03/2009 20:37

They don't need that much crap, usually a little spoon (the one in the pot you get in farmacia) will do

Moodboards? Sputnik you are evil!

Brangelina · 18/03/2009 00:21

Lovely buggy, I love bugaboos but I like mine better mainly because the price tag was a bit lower. And lol at the midnight poo gathering. Like Franca says, I don't think they need much. When I had to take a poo sample to the vet's (not mine, obv) she complained that it was far too much and it really was only a scraping (I was heaving far too much to gather any more).

Sputnik, what have you done?!?!? I clicked on that site and wasted even more time than I do on mn. I'm not keen on the choice of beds, mind, very Heal's and Habitat heavy. Wardrobes aren't too good either, but I lurve the accessories. I don't have a sample folder, am much too disorganised to have folders of any sort (finally sorted 1 year's worth of invoices out today), but DP has this shoebox full of cuttings of cappe and taps and light switches, none of which turn me on in the slightest.

Rosa · 18/03/2009 10:09

DH took it and the doc did not put the right code on so it was 36.15 di ricetta !! I have not told dh yet but she has just done a mustard poo !!!!!
I am now having anxiety syndrome about getting rid of my other buggies - They are too good to bin I might try e bay I have never sold anything there before only bought.
I was super organised this morning took dd early to nursery and legged it to the shop that prints pictures on mugs / key rings etc ( festa di papa domani) It was blooming shut with no sign outside as to what time it opened. No convenient bar / place to feed minirosa so had to come home so this pm dd1 and I have to do something inventive with a bag of chocolates and some pics of the girls some glue etc etc etc .....

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 18/03/2009 11:13

rosa, glad you accomplished the poo mission ! even happier though about the mustard poo, hopefully all is well now. and restando in tema, DD finally had a huge poo this morning - she's had at least 3 a day til last week, guess getting more and more into solids means 1 a day, big shock! and only tiny bit yesterday, but I guess the cottage pie last night had a positive effect.... and it just came off the nappy and plopped in the toilet..... no more baby poo ....

finally feeling nearly back to normal, a part from the light-headiness. and guess 4 days of missing 1-2 feeds and no expressing have compromised my milk, boobs are half the size of a week ago, and they never feel full, so sent DP to get some fenugreek.

folders? god, you have time for that? I have a million empty photo albums I keep on intending to fill, if I start thinking about dreamhome folder... no, too depressing... the things I like always seem to have the longest number on the price tag, so better leave it...

pippi, are you feeling better?

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 18/03/2009 11:53

Hello everyone, I've got half an hr of "freedom" before taking dd to swimming lesson and then I have 4 girls coming here to play. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp! Luckily mum's offered to pick ds and take him to the park.

Sunflower: the folder serves exactly this function: you eye up the most expensive item (as I always do ) and instead of buying it, you keep the pics and "own" it in your folder

Btw, i'm not super organized at all. Yesterday I found, by pure luck, my tessera elettorale which has been missing for months. It was in a big box (untagged) where I kept the dc's scans pics, and my pregnancy notes ...

Brange lol at your dp keeping cuttings of taps and light switches .

Rosa · 18/03/2009 12:50

My father has all the taps and light switches ....and old toasters , fan heaters, every kind of screw and nut and bolt - If anybody in the village needs something they go to my father . They had a minor clear out and he made £180 on old bits of copper pipe!
SUnflower glad that you are feeling a bit better I tried to get fenugreek - Fieno grecco and I stupidly did not read the box that the erborista gave me she said that this stuff had it in . It haddn't but it seems to be helping it has about 10 herbs in it . I also drink fennel tea Mind you if she is weaning then she will not be wanting as much milk so you will be producing less .
Minirosa is obviously having her long nap now she has been asleep almost 2 hrs and is 30 mins late for her feed ...this never happens !!

viggoandjavier · 18/03/2009 13:00

Can anybody tell me what i can do with some peices of chicken, peppers and black olives? Surely there is a recipe there, cannot be bothered going to tesco...
4 girls? oh my goodness....are girls in group easieir to handle than boys?
am having a productive am...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 18/03/2009 14:11

I think girls can be less boisterous but my god they fall out every half an hour.
I've got two at the moment. luckily they have been playing outside on the treehouse for ages. must clean.

sunflower I'm very well thanks for asking. just quite busy with nothing exciting RL.

viggoandjavier · 18/03/2009 14:39

ehm, my recipe, damon?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 18/03/2009 15:09

that's what I'll do. I'll fry an onion (have you got one of those) with the peppers. when soft I'll add a splash of white wine and the chicken till the meat is sealed. then I'll add some tinned tomatoes salt and peppers olive and herbs and let cook for a good while.

call me jamie

(do you tell your ds's playdates off when they misbehave?)

francagoestohollywood · 18/03/2009 15:43

Dd and one of these little girls are very good friends and rarely fall out. They often play together for ages and I never need to intervene. They are actually quite remarkable.

oh dear they're coming heeeellllllppppppp

francagoestohollywood · 18/03/2009 16:51

One of them screeches a lot.

Other than that they are fine.

I'm making arrosto

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 18/03/2009 17:53

oh, that little piglet doesn't want to sleep! we're an hour behind, well, even more as she woke up at 7am for a feed and then fell asleep til 9, but she's been in bed now for 20-30 mins just back crawling to the top of the bed, trying to climb to reach the animals on her mobile and singing/chatting to her rabbit. quite funny, but I need to start on dinner as it's late alsready! and DH's gone to possibly part ex our big car (as if we've got so much to spend, but we need it really) and god knows when he'l be back as he'd be just arriving there now...., so don't really expect him back before 8.

right, risotto alle zucchine (though I'd love that arrosto, franca), if miss piglet stops chatting and wingeing and lets me start!!!

OMG, my hands look about 90, they are soooo carta vetrata from washing and lanolising wool soakers (honest, I'm not a lentil weaver!) thought lanolin would have been good for them

viggo, I do s.thing similar to pippi, adding also zucchine and potatoes a cubetti if you have any

right, sounds if she's off. oh, before I go, any idea about easter bonnet parade? never heard of/seen one before! and need to make one for DS....

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 18/03/2009 18:58

I'm totally clueless at easter bonnet etc. We need rosa, I think.

Yum at risotto alle zucchine. It used to be a staple here (also pasta with zicchine), but at the moment the dc seem to have gone off zucchine. Luckily they are still very keen on pumpkin.
