Ciao, hello, welcome!

OP posts:
DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/04/2009 15:11

thanks rosa will do now.

I can put dd2 down but she always wants to walk about holding onto my hand so she'll sit for a while playing but gets bored and wants to do what everybody else is doing. crawling is apparently not good/cool enough for her .

Problem is she has not been left with other peole as much as dd1 was. also very different personalities. DD1 is swayed by reasoning si she never ever tantrum or put her foot down, she'd cry for a bit then sort herself out. DD2 on the other hand would cry because she is sad and then carry on for spite and stubborness. you can tell as she'd stop for a bit exhausted then thinks about it again and starts.
luckily I've never been to the receiving end as she's not generaly fussy with me and would listen to my rimprovero - also I've got very little patinece for tantrums so if she keeps doing it I put her in her room for a bit to calm down. the poor ladies at the creche though... an hour and a half of a screaming child who's not yours....
cannot be a CM definitely.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/04/2009 15:12

sorry for particularly crap english but I seem to have left my brain in bed this morning. I have felt half awake all day.

(I can hear dd2 playing in her cot - the little devil!)

Brangelina · 07/04/2009 15:54

Oh will they let us Brits give blood now? I tried a couple of years ago but they said no if you'd lived in the UK in the last 20 years because of BSE. I did point out that I've been vegetarian since long before the first BSE crisis in the 80s but to no avail. Maybe they've relaxed it, so I can try again. I'm O neg as well.

I want to help too, but don't want to send money after I saw on Report what happened to the money sent for the S. Giovanni di Puglia one. My friend is going to try to get down there this weekend so maybe I'll give him something to take to a shelter or somewhere. All his family are OK, except for one cousin who has a broken leg .

DD has febbre, school rang this morning and DP had to go and pick her up. Of course, she has to get ill the 3 days I have wall to wall appointments and can't work from home. I shouldn't complain I suppose (poor little mite), this is the first time she's off school since she started, but it is an unfortunate coincidence. Good job my cleaner cum babysitter is free a lot at the moment and my mum will be down in a couple of days.

Rosa · 07/04/2009 16:37

Poor dd - hope it doesn't develop into something nasty. minirosa is starting to get grumpy - we had jabs this am .
I have been here for over 20 yrs now ( eeeek) so maybe they will take mine when I have finished bf.
Good about your friends and a broken leg is nothing compared to some. I think I will try the fare ambiente people in Rome as all the web sites are giving them as a place. I bloody hope Berlusca will do something concrete for these people and soon - 30 mil for the emergency fund seems peanuts really ......Gotta go she really is unhappy.

Brangelina · 07/04/2009 17:13

Blimey, you've been here even longer than me. You're probably "clean" then. Maybe I'll just lie and tell them I lived in France or somewhere (not that vache folle didn't happen there, but that doesn't seem to matter).

DD seems better already although she's not up to eating. She'll still have to stay off school tomorrow even if she is better. I hope it's just one of those unexplained fevers that pop up every now and then, it'd be a shame if she was ill over Easter. I'd have to sacrifice myself once more and eat her egg.

I hope Minirosa's jab grumpiness doesn't last. Will your parents be staying over Easter as well?

beforesunrise · 07/04/2009 18:42

hey all, sorry i was a no show, the timing was just too awkward, and yesterday afetrnoon i could have wept with headache, in fact i think i did as soon as dh came home, so wouldn't ahve been good company anyway... glad pippi and viggo (whatever she calls herself these days!) had a nice time though...

gio71 · 07/04/2009 19:48

Rosa like the idea of the box, where are you sending it to, have you got a link of anywhere organising it? Would like to do the same

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/04/2009 20:04

i have not watched the news as i see no point as i cannot help, don;t trust about giving money as the money given for the irpinia earthquacke disappeared. i iwsh the earthquake had happened somewhere more civilised...

i think it might be hard to be left in a creche to be honest as there is no time to bond with a keyworker no? big hassle i understand...dd still nto bothered by my absence in the room, infact ds was never bothered actually, but if i left him alone he wrecked havoc with the telly cables, so i was in the same pickle and could not leave him alone. i wouldn;t push your dd though, i know a few kids who screamed at their nursery for months, and even now at 5 and 6 are very clingy. boh, not sure what the answer is to have some bloody freedom (suffocate them with a pillow maybe?)

gave dd some pieces of non liquidised chicken and she was able to eat it!!!! i so look forward to the end of liquidising days...

still cannot read, my mind is elsewhere...

Rosa · 07/04/2009 20:06

Gio you might be able to take some stuff as its in Rome .. I am thinking of posting it
help site Rome
I was going to call them in the morning just to see that they want it ..Guessing it will get there probably after Easter if I post Thurs.

Oh God Easter eggs not even though about that yet ..refuse to buy Nestle and she does so want a cars one ( in the bread shop at her height of course)
Minirosa had a febbre so permitted to be grumpy gave her taccchi p even though only 37.5 she diddn't have areaction to the 1st but she had pnumococco this time so maybe the combination

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/04/2009 20:06

bs do you fancy meeting up at some point next week with damon? we were thinking of exploring your bit of london....i think we are quite flexible with the day, but personally i prefer mornings...

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/04/2009 20:07

poor minirosa!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/04/2009 20:12

I've decided that she will have to be with someone else rather than me sometimes. She must get used to different people. I guess it is difficult when you have got no people. She's fine with a friend. she was also fine at the creche when I manage to get there regularly (rare). will try to go 3 times a week. Dd1 will go with her on thursday. then mught ask the CM to have her for an hour or so for a few weeks. then will see. oh the waste of money...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/04/2009 20:14

yes BS for me anyday is fine. only thing I want to be home for 5 at the latest, so that they can have their dinner and be in bed by 7. otherwise I go insane (see McCloud pillow comment ).

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/04/2009 20:27

if you have no pillows available, strangulation might be the way to go.

gio71 · 07/04/2009 20:32

thanks Rosa, going to get some stuff together and drop it in later this week

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/04/2009 20:36

I'd like to make a box as well but I doubt I will get it there. might do the money thing. Maybe through my 'parrocchia' in pg. that priest is fantastic.

beforesunrise · 07/04/2009 20:44

how about the 20th in the morning? after that dd1 goes back to nursery, and then it's monday afternoons only as i work the other days- and afternoons, have we have seen, are tricky... if coming to my bit of london i have ideas... wherabouts do you all live (roughly)

beforesunrise · 07/04/2009 21:10

girls, just wanted to let you know that you can donate online to the italian red cross- reputable institution and you know your funds won't disappear into some politician's pockets.
