Ciao, hello, welcome!

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 11:48

Sunflower, you poor thing... sounds bad. I hope you are on the mend now. It is so typical to get ill in March, when you get the illusion it's getting warmer and forget the scarf !

Such a shame I won't be able to meet you this time. How long you are staying in Italy for?

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 16/03/2009 12:06

always wear lupetti and scarves (you know, I'm the one with canottiera from sept til june ), just get it for nothing, well, always have... GP talked about having them removed, but she said she wouldn't advise it with small baby as recovery is 2 weeks and big loss of blood, so I said, no worries, I'll keep them, thanks!

we'll be there for 10 days, so finally get to meet the 3 new babies!! sooooooo excited.

right, machine has finished (soooooo much washing to catch up, at least the sun is out!) (just caught sight of myself in the mirror, white pjs, pink spotty dressing gown, black ugg boots..... a clown, made myself laugh!)

sunflower you need a holiday!

what is the best day for 2 to meet up? then we can see what pippi can do, and maybe penthe and bs if they are about....i guess youi choose the day that is best for you...

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 12:35

Monday would probably be the best day for us, as we'll spend the sunday with the friends who are hosting us.
We were thinking to take them to the natural history museum, unless you have better tips!

Sunflower, yes, the recovery from the operation is quite long. I'd be the same btw, I'd keep postponing.
10 day, how lovely. You need some mediterranean weather

Rosa · 16/03/2009 16:08

Oh sunflower how terrible . There are some nasty throat illness round at the moment.
AM having a nightmare of a pm . Minirosa is mega complaining about the lack of a bottle after bf at lunchtime as have stopped the anti diarrohea milk . I have put her on the boob more and she snacks and naps but as soon as I put her in the cot she complains big time... Want to get today sorted as dh will be at home domani and he will say give her a bottle. Still not managed to get a sample out I put domopak and a layer of toilet paper but it moved and it all came out the outside ..LOL !!!
Javier no idea how long the wait for results is .. I am taking her to be weighed doimani and if she has lost any weight then its back to the paed substitute ...Gotta go she has been crying 5 mins now thats enough in my house.

Sputnik · 16/03/2009 16:58

LOL at the domopak!
The things we do for our children, eh

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 16/03/2009 17:02

Rosa, what if you line the nappy with a fleece liner, like the ones for reusable nappies?
or, well, leave her without nappy when you know she'll do it?

OP posts:
Rosa · 16/03/2009 17:18

I tried the no nappy but she just smiled and cooed at me . She tends to poo as feeding or just after when waiting for the burp. If I don't burp her and lie her down she throws up !!!! Dh at home now so I can dedicate a bit more to the catching - I had visions of dd1 helping mummy !
I don't have any nappy liners boh I have to get it by the morning or I will murder MIl who has called every hour hai fatto ???
Sputnik hows the house decorating planning going ???

Brangelina · 16/03/2009 17:22

Or even a paper liner for reusables? Popolini do sturdy ones that are available in places like Natura Sì. It's a shame I wasn't nearer as I have loads left. I shudder to think about the domopak - wouldn't the poo just slither off? You might have to tape a carrier bag to her bum. Have you asked at the farmacia if they ahve any ideas? I got told to get a pee sample from DD when she was still in nappies, without any explanation on how to do it but when I asked at the pharmacy they had a solution - this bag thing you kind of tape to the patatina. It didn't work for us, but maybe there's a more reliable poo solution?

Sunflower - if it's any consolation having your tonsils out does not guarantee you not getting tonsillitis anymore. I had mine out when I was little and still got tonsillitis every couple of years or so. Apparently you can get it "on the beds of your tonsils".

Damn, I can smell burning (a familiar smell when I'm on here). back later!

gio71 · 16/03/2009 18:52

dont understand why you cant get from nappy?? boh! Good luck Rosa, hope you manage it.
Sunflower poor you!Tonsillitis is horrible. Where are you from in Italy (sorry because you have probably discussed before but I am waaay out of touch). Is that where you are going to?

Rosa · 16/03/2009 19:56

Its too runny in the nappy Gio and gets absorbed too quickly ... I tried squeezing it ( TMI) but I need 3 hands 2 to squeeze and 1 to scrape - Since she has had this her poos have been frequent and not that big.
I asked in teh farmacia and they had nothing the older farmacista remembers there used to be something like that but not any more. I have a wee thing like you mentioned and I might resort to that if I have no joy . AM also going to consultorio domani so might ask them if I don't manage it.

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 20:14

Rosa sorry but I had to at your mil ringing every hr asking "hai fatto"! I bet she rings at the precise moment when you are starting to domopak the nappy.
I don't have further ideas as to how to catch the poo. Perhaps lying her on the domopaked changing mat and see if she poos? Move her legs in a cycling movement, it is said to help pooing?

Hey Sputnik, are you moving then? when?

Gio, Sunflower is from veneto.

viggoandjavier · 16/03/2009 20:23

the cycling movement as well as pressing on the tummy definetely helps the pooing...

Sputnik · 16/03/2009 21:06

We're still waiting to hear abut our mortgage, hopefully we should be moving in May.

So, Rosa. Hai fatto

Sputnik · 16/03/2009 21:08

Meanwhile I have been sucked into the evil and addictive world of fantasy interor decoration

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 21:12

so that's where you've been spending all your time

Ok, I might confess my guilty secret then. I have a folder ( you know those quaderni with transparent pages where you can put paper in, what;s their name?) where I collect pics from magazines for my fantasy house

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 21:13

I mean pictures of mobili, rooms, fabrics, addresses...

Sputnik · 16/03/2009 21:19

We can but dream Franca
I now have a full-size reclining buddha in my bathroom.

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 21:21

Oh dear. Are you sure the bathroom is the most appropriate place for a buddha?
I want to divide a hypothetic living room with a sliding bookcase.

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 21:22

ups, I forgot the

Sputnik · 16/03/2009 21:33

It's a very civilised bathroom with just a bath, and a sink, some plants. And a full length reclining buddha.
here

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 21:38

Oh wow!! Sputnik that is luxurious!

(where is the bidet though )

francagoestohollywood · 16/03/2009 21:38

I love the tub. Ours is too small. I now have a tub envy.

Sputnik · 16/03/2009 21:43

I hasten to add none of that bears any realation to reality, it's pure fantasy! The bathroom of our new house is tiny I did do one for our new living room though here.
The windows are bigger in real life.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 16/03/2009 21:49

LOL you all.

(franca I've got that too )
