Ciao, hello, welcome!

OP posts:
Brangelina · 12/03/2009 23:20

Just got back and was going to post but saw you've all written loads and I'm far too tired and grumpy from my Easyjet odyssey to read any of it. I think I'll make nice calming tisana and go to bed.

A domani!

Penthesileia · 13/03/2009 09:42

Hi everyone. Sorry for absence. Intrusion of RL (ie. DD broke my laptop! - she pulled it off the table [negligent mummy alert]).

But I was quite glad for the break, as there were a few threads that were doing my head in, and for once I almost wasn't following my own mantra of "it's only a website"! Sadly, there still in action... So need to avert my eyes.

franca - sorry about DS. I don't have any advice, but you should at least be pleased you know about what's going on - that's the first step.

Sunflower - I hope you and DP are ok.

Pippi - why are you shaky? Are you ok? [worried]

Rosa - are you still breastfeeding? Green poo can be a sign of too-fast letdown. I will look for a link... Hang on a minute...

Penthesileia · 13/03/2009 09:45

there!!! - I mean they're, of course!

Penthesileia · 13/03/2009 09:48

Ok, here's a link; and another: other than a bug, or diarrhoea etc., it could be that if you have a fast let down, minirosa is only drinking a lot of foremilk, and not getting to the hindmilk, which is richer. Block-feeding can help that, apparently.

Although this may all be bollocks, of course!

francagoestohollywood · 13/03/2009 11:03

Hello everyone,

Penthe so good to see you back!! I hope you hadn't been sucked in by the LWT thread like Viggo did .
I received your parcel last week, thank you ever so much, I'm still reading the magazines!

Brange, what happened with Easy Jet? We had a nightmare trip back to Italy from Bristol last year (our last trip) but it was actually ryan air.

Brangelina · 13/03/2009 11:09

Yes Penthe, I'd heard that too, although when DD had green poo I was told by the consultorio not to worry, you onlu worry if there's mucous in it. The foremilk/hindmilk issue is a bit of a red herring, apparently. Oh, I don't know who to believe, so many theories out there, who is right? DD still put on weight with her green poos, albeit only about 80g. a week but they were fine with that. It does soind a bit weird that the paed prescribed formula for diarrhea, I mean the pre/pro/whateverbiotics in formula are never going to be even 10% as effective as the antibodies in bm aren't they? Boh!

I'm still exhausted from the last 2 days and from the stress of my visa card not working abroad. I had exactly 20 euros in my pocket for the whole of the 2 days, just enough for the train ticket to the airport and back. Good job they didn't swipe my card when I paid at the hotel, otherwise I'd still be there on chambermaid duties. Ditto the baggage thing at the airport. New development - you fly out from Milan with 1 piece of handluggage + computer, however, you have to fly back with only the computer as that counts as your only piece of handluggage. Are Easyjet going the same way as Ryanair??? I hope not, or I'll never be able to fly anywhere again!

Pippi, what happened?

francagoestohollywood · 13/03/2009 11:16

Sounds like a nightmare. Flying has turned like a dreadful experience most of the times. As i said, up until 1 yr and a half ago when we flew regularly from/to the UK I was more than happy with Easy Jets services, while I was appalled by Ryan Air.
Where did you go btw?

I can't advise on green poos. Mine didn't poo that often. They occasionally had green poos, but they weren't runny etc, so I thought it was pretty normal. Boh! Hope she's much better today, Rosa!

Brangelina · 13/03/2009 11:24

Paris. Believe me, Paris with 20 euros in your pocket is no fun. I didn't dare invite Anna out for an aperitivo (not that I had time).

francagoestohollywood · 13/03/2009 11:26

lol! Thank goodness you had to work... instead of being tempted by Printemps...

Brangelina · 13/03/2009 11:29

I had Monoprix next door, groaning with cheeses, a chocolate shop downstairs and next to that a very chic very delicious bakery-patisserie. Luckily the pains au chocolat went on expenses and my colleague paid for them.

francagoestohollywood · 13/03/2009 11:36

phew! You can't spend time in Paris without the pains au chocolat. [Sighs], I really enjoyed those few days we spent in Paris last month. What an amazing city. I love it (and the cheese)

Brangelina · 13/03/2009 11:59

Yes, I'd love to go back for a holiday, maybe for a long weekend. DP's never been, I'm sure he'd love it. He loved London. Did you find a cheap hotel? Ours was 89 euros a night but quite nice all the same. I was lucky though, I got the nicer room, my colleague got lumped with the box room.

I have the cleaner here now, just as well because when I got back the place was a tip. DD's knickers on the settee, the sink piled up with plates and the dishwasher standing empty enxt to it and my steamer was full of verdura ammuffita. I was pretty pissed off, got back at nearly midnight to find all that shit. I think DP thinks that looking after DD on his own is beyond the call of duty so that gives him license to be a total pig elsewhere. Grrrr

francagoestohollywood · 13/03/2009 12:09

at your dp, if I might say so. It takes 10 mins to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher . You should tell him off on my behalf

Ours was an aparthotel, at les citadines (sp?). Not too expensive, I'd say, but can't remember how much. And dh had only to pay for my 3 nights being there. He was paid by the university which invited him.

francagoestohollywood · 13/03/2009 12:12

Right, unfortunately rl is looming. Have to pick up the dc, dump them at friends' house where they'll have music lessons, and go to work this afternoon. Ciao!

Brangelina · 13/03/2009 12:13

Yes, I have to go too, need to see a client then get back in time for school pick up. Ciao!

Bucharest · 13/03/2009 12:18

Ciao a tutte!
Dashing in and out as my riso is almost cotto!
Am reading but no time to post at mo' darn that INDIRE website- I'm teaching for 3 hrs and faffing with faffery for seems like another 47. Pah!

If you have time, check out the threads on here about MARNIE PEARCE (in the news and charity pages) Terrible story and harrowing video- join the campaign if you have a mo..

I'll try to get back on over the w/e and talk more sense...

Green poo- dd had this quite a lot- paed said it was too much milk....[hmmm]

Rosa · 13/03/2009 12:46

Thanks for the links and support - she is still pooing green . Its not frothy that implies too much fore milk ) and this milk that the doc has given us ( twice aday after bf) only seems to make her poos more granularly if you know what I mean. I thihnk that they are less watery but they are still very green and not her normal colour at all. ( well one of the range) I am getting a bit concerned now as its been going on too long for it to be teething and if its a virus it should have cleared up.Her doc is the paed on Sunday and I will give him a call if no improvement.
Paris on Eu20 ....Well done I wouldn't have managed it !!!

Rosa · 13/03/2009 12:47

Brange at your dp I would have probaly committed a crime on him .....

francagoestohollywood · 13/03/2009 13:37

dc have been despatched to friends house and I have 10 mins before going... ... I'm contemplating to change into a springier outfit, since it's very hot !

Rosa, do you think you'll ask for an analisi delle feci? Or is it not the done thing with babies? Poor minirosa . How is she in herself?

Rosa · 13/03/2009 13:59

I think thats what the paed said they would do as a next move just to eliminate any nasties . He said if she had had had odd green poo here and there then nornal etc but the fact it is on going and no variation then he might want to do one. He is on holiday next week so I might call him on Sunday. She is much better in herself these last few days smiling and cooing but she was not so happy a few days ago . I am drinking fennel tisana and lots of water !!
I agree it is far warmer but its cold first thing so need layers !!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/03/2009 18:03

rosa sorry for having missed it but how long has it been going on? I'll have it checked just in case.
once dd1 had very smelly smthng poo and they did send a sample away. then it cleared. only 4 months later they told us it was a type salmonella .

viggoandjavier · 13/03/2009 20:18

rosa ,what your options?

viggoandjavier · 13/03/2009 20:19

what are

viggoandjavier · 13/03/2009 20:22

ciao penthe! we missed you? you missed the lwt thingy. i have hardly had a life this week, as totally obsessed by this story. i feel like a real cabbage head for becoming so easily addicted, but i find the myerson family so fascinating. boh.

has anyone see conversations with other women? i am about to watch it. dp refuses to even watch it for 2 minutes and has gone into hiding.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 13/03/2009 21:08

haven't even heard of it but I just googled it and sounds good. will add to my list.\I'm eating chockolate.
