Ciao, hello, welcome!

OP posts:
SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 01/04/2009 13:34

my friend's dcs are the same, in bed by 6.30, though I think the older one goes at 7 now.... AND they wake up at 8-8.30 (a part from the older one now who goes to school)!! and I remember at w-end when the older one was younger, if she woke up around 8 she was told to stay in bed so the parents could have a lie in and she'd stay put!! DS gets up even before his eyes are open, literally! as much as I try to have dinner ready early, even when I do it's suddenly 8.30pm, don't know how, I used to be so good before... I'm sure I'm more organised when I'm working (and actually, I's super organised at work, getting everyone to stick to timetables etc... why can't I be the same at home ). and DS just faffs about forever every night...

OMG Gio, it almost sounds like they were trying it on. what would have happened if you hadn't challenged it!?! Enel once tied to diddle me out of loads of money by insisting I wasn't resident when I clearly was and had faxed them certs several times. Somehow they never got the fax. It took them almost a year before they actually went to check the fax machine and then I got almost 2 years free electricity.

Glad now I asked about numeri primi. If it's depressing I don't want to know. I did guess it might be something like that by the title and seeing the guy interviewed on the telly. I haven't read the Calabresi book, although I remember him being interviewed about it a while ago on TV (if it's the same book).

Brangelina · 01/04/2009 14:07

DD stll gets up early at weekends but will go and play or draw quietly by herself while I have a lie in. Sometimes I just plonk her down with a DVD (in English, so educational), a gflass of milk and a biscuit and that's he sorted for another hour or so.
She's done this since she was about 2.5 and when I told some English friends aout it they were horrified at my neglect. I don't think it's neglect, surely a nice rested mummy is better than a grouchy mummy, non?

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 01/04/2009 16:32

DS won't go downstairs by himself, he's become such a lagna paurosa... I'm planning my revenge when he's 15! mind you, he's a teenager in so many respects... we already call him Kevin!

can't believe, all my hard work yesterday making him an Easter bonnet... ok, I made an easter pirate hat, but painted and stuck easter eggs, chicks, bunnies, flowers, and the ungrateful so and so (who couldn't even be bothered helping me!) wasn't happy after the parade as s.one told him his wasn't an easter bonnet as it was a pirate hat, so DS was upset as he wanted a yellow round hat!!! and all I heard when I picked him up was "look at that pirate hat, that's cool mummy"... oh, well, next year he'll have a boring pre-made yellow round bonnet!

gio, had some problems with BT some years ago, after many costly phone calls (as they'd cut me off) they eventually sorted the problem out at the mention of legal action by my colonel "friend" (an eccentric old client where I worked at the time) the same week.... though in Italy you'd probably have to mention being friends with a velina/letterina/nipple tassel shaker

Gps here so will be on and off in next few days....SUn out in Vce and its warm....

beforesunrise · 01/04/2009 19:35

6.30 bedtime imo is good for babies but as soon as they get a bit older it seems almost cruel, esp in summer when it's bright daylight outside! i prefer dd1 to sleep after lunch and then she goes to bed at 8/8.30... although once she finally drops her nap i can foresee she'll drop dead earlier. dd2 usually knackered by 6.45 and asleep by 7/7.15 at the latest (then up at 10, 2, 5 etc etc)

rosa enjoy the gps- hope they help out a bit

gio71 · 01/04/2009 19:41

lol at sunflower and image of pipple tassel shaker sorting out Enil and co!
Rosa enjoy Gps. We have Nonni from UK out on Sun as well, cant wait. DS keeps telling me they are arriving on Harold the Helicopter from his beloved Thomas the Tank . Mind you possibly preferable to Ryanair.....

francagoestohollywood · 01/04/2009 20:29

Gio at your bills! Glad you sorted them out.

Rosa, enjoy your time with your parents and have a good battesimo day . Did you find a dress?

Dh's watching the football match.... boring!

Brangelina · 01/04/2009 22:02

DP's watching Voyager. I really don't like that little man who does it so avoid it completely. I do love Ulisse and Quark though and Pietro Angela is one of my ideal dinner party guests.

Rosa, enjoy GPs. We have to wait until next week for Nonna's arrival. Did you find something to wear after all?

Lol at Easter bonnet story, I'm glad we don't have that out here, it sounds like another palaver one could do without.

I think I'll go and read the new bodice ripper my mum sent to me. She couldn't find the book on my amazon wish list (she preferred to shop in a bookshop) so picked something with a cover that looked vaguely similar(with the emphasis on vaguely - I think the common denominator is a shoe detail).

francagoestohollywood · 02/04/2009 08:50

the Queen and Berlu

Gio, how lovely that your parents are coming as well. I was thinking at your passeggiate al tramonto in Rome yesterday and was

francagoestohollywood · 02/04/2009 08:51

thinking of

Rosa · 02/04/2009 13:31

Rosa wipes sweat from brow... Went to Coin and got a Koan skirt black , tiered and a bit crinkly ( but not so much as my father saying it needs an iron.) Then from Promod found a cardigan that has a irregular edge in a soft material in purple and a chunky necklace and did not spend a fortune either It is not ' wonderful' but it is comfortable and I feel presentable in it .
DD is doing something at nursery for Easter as she seems a bit into the bunnies and chicks she even asked if we could have an Easter decoration SO I have said we will see if we can find some !!
Lie ins Brange you naughty thing as for sticking your dd in front of a dvd with a biscuit you will be saying it was a chocolate one as well !
Blimey Gio even Eu400 for electricity seems mega high or is that a deposit as well ?
I want to find out more about these pay a fixed price a month things but I wonder if they are doing that as they know that the prices have to go down -or so the news says for this year ! Am always a bit sceptical about enels supposed bargains !!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 02/04/2009 14:16

good Rosa, hope you have a nice day!! mum said the weather should be ok too this w-end, hoping it'll last while I'm there!

I managed to get into my skinny jeans and my boycut ones too!!!! there's still a bit of a muffin top, time to get seriously crunching... bum and thighs still a bit wobbly (so for now skinny jeans will only go with camperos boots, but I can't believe I can do the button/zip and still manage to breathe!!! 2kg left to go (3 really to be back to pre-pg, but I'm happy with 2), but they really take forever...

franca, forgot to say the other day that the only thing that tames my hair a bit is the boots botanics hair serum

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 02/04/2009 15:27

Rosa phew, thank goodness! Have a lovely special day with your family

Sunflower, when are you off? Is it saturday?

I found a very good product, which is bloody expensive, but worth imo: Kiehls creme with silk groom. As for the new hair dryer, I'm quite pleased with the results. Still dream of ghd hair straighteners .

Sputnik · 02/04/2009 18:05

Oh glad you got yourself an outfit sorted out Rosa

And congratulations on getting in your jeans Sunflower. I think I have been going the oposite way as my clothes are feeling really tight and I've been eating a lot in the last few months out of tiredness and stress, and feeling too knackered to exercise. I'm hoping to get things back under control, and been doing quite a bit of walking this week.

francagoestohollywood · 02/04/2009 18:15

I'm eating quite a lot too. The fact is that I really like eating. At the mo I'm trying to keep away from the kitchen where dh and the dc are having their dinner (I'm going out with friends tonight), to avoid finishing off their pasta and get to the restaurant with a half full stomach

Pippi, are you all right?

gio71 · 02/04/2009 19:07

Have you seen Berlusca's performance at G20??????
Words fail me!!!!!!!!

francagoestohollywood · 02/04/2009 19:19

did you see my link gio? He's been told off by the queen. LOL

gio71 · 02/04/2009 19:45

LOL what is he like???????????????

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 02/04/2009 19:59

saw the link, but cannot understand (sorry tired and pmtish)
can you email me your friend;s training programme franca?
surprise surprise i managed to zip a pair of pre-preg trousers this am, i cannot exactly breather in them, so my shape is changing on my crostatine all day diet...

MarsLady · 02/04/2009 20:06

Ciao bella(s)

So... still haven't booked the holiday. Teenage boys are a pain in the other! Currently looking at Lido di Jesolo .

Been busy so have neglected my random hellos to you all. 'scusi [I know... appalling spelling/pronunciation... I know]

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 02/04/2009 20:39

I'm okay thanks franca. Just busy organizing Dd2 birthday party!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 02/04/2009 22:09

wow, first birthday!

watched that link, but have no comments really, not worth it...

Benigni at the G Northon's show? must watch this

Mccloud, I think it's that I had no voglia di cucinare a pranzo most days this week so had just a little sandwich/salad instead of my usual 2 plates of pasta... and I'msure the porridge diet works too... but need to start exercising really... "voglia saltami addosso"

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 02/04/2009 22:36

Mccloud, couldn't understand the Queen's reproach either, but she told him off for screaming "ueh, Mr Obama" in a loud brianzolo accent

I'll get hold of the training programme and email you or bring it on monday.

Marslady, hello! What a coincidence, guess what I made this afternoon with the help of dd? Lemon drizzle cake
Lido di Jesolo, I've never been, used to go nearby as a child. Sounds good, as you can probably manage a trip to venice too!

Pippi, ooooooooh how lovely, first birthday party .

Sputnik · 03/04/2009 17:19

Yes, it should have been President Obama, for starters. Heads of state aren't respected like they used to be (mind you, what else would you expect from Berlusca).

He is truly cringeworthy isn't he.
