Ciao, hello, welcome!

Yes, it should have been President Obama, for starters. Heads of state aren't respected like they used to be (mind you, what else would you expect from Berlusca).

He is truly cringeworthy isn't he.

Sputnik · 03/04/2009 17:24

cring cringe
I am embarassed to live in this country.
i hope Obama pointedly never comes here.

francagoestohollywood · 03/04/2009 18:26

Rofl at those pics, I saw them in La Repubblica. As the guardian article says: How could he? He has no shame
Oh dear, that man is a megalomaniac!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 03/04/2009 21:42

hard day... instead of finishing sorting the washing, I spent the afternoon scrubbing the oven - it was pretty but I'm proud of it, it's all spik & span... but my arm is about to drop off

DP's been ill too for the last couple of days so "my time" still hasn't materialised so on top of the packing I have the sorting/tidying to do tomorrow... men, they're so pathetic when they're ill!! and I have to re-think what to take to Italy as I had planned mainly wintery stuff, oh, how I hate packing!!

Penthe, hope everything went well today!

Yes it's got quite warm here the last few days. Hmm, I'd better think about packing stuff for the uk......

francagoestohollywood · 03/04/2009 22:09

Sunflower, I'm well impressed, I never succeeded in cleaning the oven that well.

Have a lovely time in Italy my dear. Tis very mild today

francagoestohollywood · 03/04/2009 22:09

I haven't packed yet! I'll do it tomorrow morning

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 03/04/2009 22:17

franca, it was really embarassing and mum mentioned it too.... and DD loves playing with her mirrored friend so much I felt sorry her "friend" looked so spotty

are you flying tomorrow?

OP posts:
Sputnik · 03/04/2009 22:21

I have never suceeded in cleaning the oven at all!
We don't use it that much though and don't eat meat so not that bad.

Looks like most of us on this thread or our families will be criss-crossing each other in the sky in the next few days.

francagoestohollywood · 03/04/2009 22:28

Yes, we are flying out tomorrow afternoon. When are you off Sput?

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 03/04/2009 22:37

Rosa · 05/04/2009 15:01

We had a lovely day apart from Minirosa screaming when we arrived and it took me a while to settle her - then whenthe prete did the touching of her ears and mouth she tried to eat his finger !!!
It was lovely and infrmal and when teh prets said who wants to light the candle dd1 and her cugino 3.6 both said 'me' and to top it all a padrino produced a lighter !!!!!!!
Weather remained good A couple of side pics of me Look terrible and I am getting the cyclette out on Monday !!Am guessing its going to be a bit quiet on here this next week ......
Hope you all have a great meet up .

francagoestohollywood · 05/04/2009 18:08

Hello! London is bloody marvellous!
rosa, glad to hear you had a fab family day

Pippi, will text you tomorrow morning for final arrangements, see what the weather's like etc.

Sputnik · 05/04/2009 18:10

Glad you had a good day Rosa
Will join you on the cyclette (metaphorically speaking, I don't actually have a cyclette), but I managed an hour of exercise this morning, and feel better for it.
I'm packing my walking boots for Wales but the forcast is crap apparently.

Sputnik · 05/04/2009 18:11

Ciao Franca!
Have a fab time

gio71 · 06/04/2009 07:19

have fab time Franca and enjoy the meet up all of you going.
Anyone feel the earthquake? We were woken up by it, poor poor people-just watching TG now.

Sputnik · 06/04/2009 08:03

Yes, it woke us up too.
Sounds like it was pretty bad.

Rosa · 06/04/2009 10:04

Looks terrible but if there were lots of little shocks why did they not warn people ... I know it cannot be forecast but surely send ot a possible warning....And you guys all felt it as well - Scary big time.

Bucharest · 06/04/2009 10:07

Morning all- not been around for a while- checking in to make sure everyone is OK- and unwobbled?
First thing I heard about it was when I got some emails....

Brangelina · 06/04/2009 11:23

at the earthquake! Poor people. Scary photos too. One of my friends is abbruzzese and has not been able to get hold of his relatives to see if they're OK. I hope it's just a case of communications being down.

Rosa · 06/04/2009 13:23

The numbers keep rising and on Sky24 they said 50,000 without homes - Wonder how long they will have to live in tents and caravans?
Poor people - hope your friend gets hole of her rellies - guss it will all be chaos down there.

Sputnik · 06/04/2009 14:31

The news is just getting worse and worse isn't it?
