Ciao, hello, welcome!

Do you mean the program hosted by sandra milo???lol!

Yes, the 6th would be a good day for us. We told the dc we'd take them to the natural history museum, but guess the london children have already been there. So, up to you all choosing a location, pirate boat sounds like fun, but have no clue where it is

BS, it'd be lovely to meet you .

Well, I'm so not used going out for aperitivo anymore, that I felt like fainting after my first spritz, and I had to sit down . I mean, I used to be an aperitivo queen...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 25/03/2009 21:46

we can meet there after/before you've been to the nat hist museum if you like. it's not that they've been before but that it's going to be so so busy on half term that it might not be so much fun for me with dd2 and viggo with dd. but we are easy and we'll come there if you cannot get to the pirate boat, which is in hyde park by kensington garden (just on the other side of hyde park from nat hist museum - walking distance). you bare the one taking your kids on holiday in london so we do as you say!
bs would be lovely to meet you.

dd1 just helped dowload pics from phone to comp .

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 25/03/2009 21:55

that's it franca, thank you!!! piccoli fans! I've been typing "sandra" but couldn't remember the surname!!!

a bit of all of you meeting on the 6th...

Oh sunflower we'll miss you!!! Pippi we could meet by the boat (I'm sure dh will be able to find it, given that he lived 5 yrs in london? ) at around lunchtime? or is after lunch a better time for you? We are pretty easy.

Mind you, we need a plan B in case of bad weather, because I hate the outdoors in bad weather. 8 yrs in the UK haven't changed me (whimp emoticon)

francagoestohollywood · 25/03/2009 22:36

BS, lemon drizzle cake

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/03/2009 09:35

Franca I doubt dh will find it as I only discovered it 6 month ago after 13 years and working next door to it.

here and map: diana memorial playground top left, nat hist museum bottom left.

if it rains... boh!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/03/2009 09:36

sunflower yes we'll miss you.

viggoandjavier · 26/03/2009 10:09

sorry only read very quickly. quite a walk from nat hist mus to pirate boat, no? what about british museum and then coram fields ifthe weather is good. british museum will not be too crazy will it? at nat hist museum there will be queues i guess from 11am,so we have to get there earlier than that...

viggoandjavier · 26/03/2009 10:10

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/03/2009 10:38

ciao viggo, how are you? were have you been? I've sorted out all our pics in the comp. feel so productive. still not had a shower though.

viggoandjavier · 26/03/2009 11:04

just away from the net and try to get things done as usual, will reply to your email

francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2009 11:32

Ideally we'd need somewhere where children can run around while we chat, but with an indoor in case of rain and wind (I hate wind)
Tate modern? never been though

Rosa · 26/03/2009 13:06

Thanks for the links will read when I have teh time ! BS - Good on you for the singing Dh and I are far too out of tune
A friend of mine had a similar incident but when she saw the wrestling on tv a few weeks later she said ' like mummy and daddy '. I honestly wouldn't bother with a sex talk just say it was a game!
Lucky you all meeting up - hope the weather is good . Its mega warm here but yesterday it was freezing !

francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2009 13:07

Yes mega warm here too. I went to the market this morning. And the sky is blue! Shame it's going to rain over the we.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/03/2009 19:28

franca I can see why you were not the happiest in exeter

francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2009 20:38

I'm afraid I never got used to the wind and the rain

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/03/2009 20:55

How ds?

francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2009 21:01

He's been in a much better mood in the last 7 days or so. Still wants me in the room when he falls asleep and wakes up in the night.
I'm seeing the psych on monday

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 26/03/2009 21:01

evening, how's everyone? how's DD, pippi?

so proud of myself, made 25 muffins today, never made them before and I also experimented with butter icing, yummy! just need to decorate 12 tomorrow morning for the school cake sale, the rest (well, the ones that are left) have gone in a box for us ! so levely to have time and peace to do some cooking! definetly a plus for having DP at home!

francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2009 21:04

wow sunflower, I'm impressed! Actually tonight I should be making a torta salata as db and sil are coming tomorrow for dinner (and I'll be working tomorrow afternoon), but I'm too lazy

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/03/2009 21:14

tell us recipe for torta salata pls.

I've got a million things to do but as dh is out all I want to do is absolutely nothing!! I've got such a busy weekend as well...

sunflower pls how do you do the icing? is it the soft buttery one or hard sugary one?

francagoestohollywood · 26/03/2009 21:22

Yes, I want to know e v e r y t h i n g about the icing.

Oh I was thinking of doing leeks and asparagi, given that today I bought a lovely mazzo at the market.
I buy the ready made pasta brise (buitoni is quite good).
I think I'll cook the leeks in a bit of olive oil and butter (really slowly) and add the asparagi at the end. Then I'll fry some cubetti di pancetta.
Will mix the veg, pancetta, ricotta and one (or maybe 2) eggs. Salt, pepper, maybe some shredded mint. Pop into the oven for 30 mins.
Another nice one is with peppers, red onions and pancetta.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 26/03/2009 21:39

franca, that sounds yummy!!

for the butter icing, I found a few different recipes, but basically it's one part butter (or half butter, half soft cheese) to two parts icing sugar (o zucchero velato), one recipe also added some lemon juice, another added milk, just beat til soft and fluffy. I think it depends which muffin you make. I was in a bit of a hurry so I just did it til it "looked/tasted" right, but basically I did butter/soft cheese and sugar. I should have added some lemon juice too though, as I was going to do blueberry muffins, but then remembered DP finished them the other morning so I sprinkled some lemon zest to cut through the sugar a bit. And I think mixed with some chopped nuts it will go perfect with Brange's banana and carrot cakes!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummie, thanks sunflower.

Tis another bad night for my connection. Have been trying to watch stuff (mainly from the gialappa's band) on you tube and it's impossible!

beforesunrise · 27/03/2009 06:23

i vote for BM and coram fields- diana memorial playground is amazing but gets really packed during half term, coram fields is muuuch nicer and there is a small baretto to have a drink, also there's animals, toilets, etc etc

if raining tate modern a good option
