Ciao, hello, welcome!

OP posts:
Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:23

Yes, I wasn't convinced by the dayglo pink either.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:23

Oh I like coffee mornings, as I'd like to chat. A lot. However, I'm let down by my total inability to tame my hair, so I'm not stepfordy at all.

Lol at Penthe knowing all about supposte and colpi d'aria

Penthesileia · 23/03/2009 22:24

LOL!

There is a great Bill Bailey sketch about chat-up lines in other languages. He pretends to read from a phrase book: "Do you come here often? What is your name? Do you want to come to my house for a coffee..." - all looking rather sinister, IYSWIM.

Maybe you had to be there.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/03/2009 22:32

(I do that too Penthe )

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/03/2009 22:33

I meant about the empty bottles...

OP posts:
SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/03/2009 22:35

that's a great idea Brange... but have to make do with mum when she's here

OP posts:
Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:36

Me too. I still have loads of presumably empty bottle taking up sapce in my shower stand and am having to put new bottles on the floor.

I've just been reading the speedo thread. There was a brilliant comment re golden virginia. Has made me glad I've given up smoking.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:39

lol sunflower re your mum
My mum went into uber stepfordy wife mode when she visited us in the UK. We went once together to see a good friend of mine and had to remind her to please don't try to clean anything there as well

Off to bed now, buonanotte

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:45

oh god there is another odd thread about nurseries... time for me to go to bed

Penthesileia · 23/03/2009 22:47

I also wasn't counting the empty shampoo & conditioner bottles...

Notte tutte.

Sputnik · 24/03/2009 08:38

Well, I have just thrown out a conditioner tube I finished only yesterday. However, it does look like someone vomited in my kitchen sink (thanks Gio), several days ago.

Sputnik · 24/03/2009 08:44

Penthe, definitely get your inlaws to bring supposte, you'll need tachipirina 125 mg. I once bought some calpol in the uk to see what all the fuss was over this magic stuff everyone raves about, then regretted it when I looked at the ingredients.

Bucharest · 24/03/2009 08:48

I don't think Stepfords go out to lunch...I think they wear those little pinnies that Filipino maids wear and have a broom welded to their arm. They have got perfect hair though.

viggoandjavier · 24/03/2009 09:38

no stepford here either. disappeared last night for an early night as i just felt drained and overwhelmed by chores.

good your ds is a bit better franca.

damon:it's a bit weird that your gp did not specify it was german measles./rubella and not measles that dd2 had...how weird...i would go and shout at her...

Penthesileia · 24/03/2009 09:53

oh god oh god oh god: I tried to resist... But I finally cracked.... I posted on the SAHM/WOHM thead....

Save meeeeeeeeeeee....

viggoandjavier · 24/03/2009 10:04

it was a very sensible post. but you might get lynched.

Penthesileia · 24/03/2009 10:09

I want to be lynched - I Have Had Enough of all the silly nonsense. And I don't care!

Notice, though, that I managed to resist dumping that massive Sartre quotation on the thread and running away!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 24/03/2009 10:15

where's the post?

viggo it is me that gave you the wrong translation, gp was fine this time.

Penthesileia · 24/03/2009 10:19

Awww Pippi - thanks for the love on the thread!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 24/03/2009 10:23

well twas no flattering just the simple truth. I wish I could think and asrticulate like you do.
but I'm not that happy about being dragged into that foul thread. I won't open it again.

Penthesileia · 24/03/2009 10:36
  • Do you want the money now or later?

Foul indeed: but I will try to keep calm and carry on.

Ok - gotta go... DD has woken from her nap, and by the sound of it, has filled her nappy!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 24/03/2009 10:41

penthe 'to rethink, and talk about rethinking - to force men and women to confront the structural realities of the situation, and try to change them.

very CT indeed!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 24/03/2009 10:43

Penthe, just seen you've posted! and pippi too on THAT thread... obviously completly agree with you . but can't get into it, it'll end up making me even more than just reading it... right, DD's up
