Ciao, hello, welcome!

Ah pippi, rosolia! That's much better, I was a bit concerned re the morbillo. It is not nice. Rosolia is quite mild, usually.

It is facoltativo in the UK as well. They probably decided it is more cost effective to vaccinate rather than to cure? Boh!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/03/2009 22:01

poor DD, pippi. might be that the poo irritates more than usual as she's ill.... glad you're better too..

god that sahm/wohm thread keeps on going round and round and round and round....... why do I keep on getting sucked in!?!

yea makes sense now as you all seemed so more worried than I was. poor viggo called me immediately after she read it. you must have thought I was a nutter to be so chilled out about it and worry about mother's day .

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:03

I saw the thread creeping up again sunflower! I actually posted on it ages ago. Everytime I see a wohm/sahm I feel looking for the most time consuming job on the market.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:04

pippi!

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:04

Does german measles make your skin more sensitive? Maybe that makes her uncomfortable with a poo?

I've seen SAHM/WOHM thread titles but have not dared click on them. You know, I don't think I've ever been judged for being a WOHM herre, apart from the a Benvenuto member whe she said they just didn't do toddlers at weekends.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:07

Yes, if it's rosolia she can find the poo and being wiped uncomfortable. I'd wipe as little as poss and wash her under the sink.

I think in Milan Sahm all'inglese are a rare sight.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 22:08

yes it could be as she also cried a bit when in the bath the other day which is a first. my god che mamma snaturata!!

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:08

I thought so too, but not in Monza so it seems. There's a Stepford type community in the leafy suburbs near the park.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:09

poverina!

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:09

I meant le mamme inglesi, not SAHM all'inglese!

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:10

Sounds scary Brange...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 22:10

do you think I am a stepford? a shopping trip to ikea, lemoin drizzle not working complain about husband... hmmm there's food for thoughts methink.

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:11

Have you tried putting a little bicarbonato in the water? Apparently that soothes. Also a tea bag, the tannin really calms the skin.

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:12

Do you lunch in groups of perfectly coiffed women? Do you have regular coffee mornings and give talks on Peruvian pottery while sfornendo your lemon drizzle cake? No? You're not a stepford type, sorry.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 22:13

No you are not Pippi.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 22:15

I'm not as I'm never ever perfectly coiffed!
salvata per un pelo!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 22:16

off to bed now. thank god I hadn't called my mum with te morbillo thing (I had slight suspicion that she'd be uber worried and will annoy me). she'd be on a plane now!
notte.

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:18

Notte Pippi.

I'm going to make a peppermint tisana so I can digest my takeaway curry (another thing I miss about Milan) and then ahve a shower because I'm all smelly from the gym.

Penthesileia · 23/03/2009 22:19

LOL Pippi!!! So glad it's milder than morbillo!! Notte.

These threads are great for learning accidental Italian: I now know words for diseases and painkillers up-the-bum. Hooray!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/03/2009 22:19

sometimes I wish I was a stepfor wife though, just for one day... I'd love to have a perfectly tidy clean house, dinner planned and ready, kids in bed when they're supposed to....

notte pippi, hopefully DD'll be better in the morning

OP posts:
Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:19

PS. the coiffed thing lets me down too. Otherwise I'm sure I'd make a perfect Stepford. If I ahd time for coffee mornings of course.

Penthesileia · 23/03/2009 22:20

Also - I am being quietly converted to said painkillers up the bum! We haven't yet had to give DD anything by way of painkiller, etc. (touches wood), but I'm suspicious of Calpol - it's so pink - so maybe I need to get the ILs to bring some over!!

Penthesileia · 23/03/2009 22:21

Deffo not Stepford here.

This afternoon I threw out 7 empty shower-gel bottles that had been lurking in our bathroom, waiting for me to recycle them...

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 22:22

All useful stuff Penthe. If you read furhter back about 10 threads ago there are also a few dodgy chat up lines that might come in handy.

Sunflower - the ideal is not to be a Stepford, but to find one who will do everything for you. Then you switcher her off at night and hide her in the cupboard under the stairs. Easy peasy.
