Ciao, hello, welcome!

Hey everyone. Well, I swore I wouldn't come and lurk on MN, but I did, and now I've been fannying about so long, I don't really have time to watch the Colin Firth film which is on BBC iplayer. Last time I looked at the clock it was only 8.45 - where does the time go?????

I ate all the sweet things in the house today: leftover cheesecake and half a big bar of Galaxy .

Sputnik: I feel your pain about moving. We are in the middle of a very stressful search for affordable insurance (as a condition of our mortgage). The house we're trying to buy is in a state and is old, so finding insurance is a nightmare. Sigh.

Sputnik · 23/03/2009 21:43

Sunflower we will probably cross paths mid air as I'm in the uk for easter.

I am sort of 90% sure we did small decorative honey jars as our bomboniere, only 90% sure as I was 3 months pg when I got married, MIL and SIL were insisting we did them so I said fine, you deal with it, I was already overwhelmed by the whole thing. So I think they did them but I really can't remember. All this crack probably doesn't help with my memory either

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:44

OMG Pippi, I missed that. Does she actually have morbillo?

I need to go to Ikea too but am putting it off. I'm far too easily led astray by the latest snazzy kitchen gadget.

Penthesileia · 23/03/2009 21:45

Hi Pippi - glad you're feeling a little better.

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:46

We got a coffee cup and saucer as bonboniere at the last wedding we went to. I can't help with personal experience as not married and DD not christened.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 21:47

doctor said so but they are never quite sure with morbillo I think, or so the book said. boh. how do they know in italy?

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 21:47

I was thinking to crack open a kinder delice... but will have your chocolate please brange.

Penthe, the insurance thing sounds v. annoying.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/03/2009 21:47

Brange, I prefer the banana milkshake....

and yes, he rolls and rolls and my bum freezes AND he keeps on moving creating the dreaded draft as he then stays on his sides with a cave between us . but apparently he's hardly has any covers!!!

one thing is strange about dd2, she screams and turns and cries when I change her pooed nappy. if there just wee is fine. not red. put cream anyway.
do you think is something or just her trying to assert herself?

Sputnik · 23/03/2009 21:48

Hope you can sort it soon Penthe. We were all ready to roll here when the banks decided to really tighten up on mortgages, so we have to wait now to be 100% sure of one before going ahead. I hope we'll know something this week.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 21:49

Boh, I've never heard of anyone having morbillo here in Italy lately.
I remember there was an epidemic in Puglia I think, 10 yrs ago...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 21:49

no my dh is perfect in the sleeping dep. maybe because we have superkingsize bed.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 21:50

Do you think it's linked to being ill, or is she entering the stage when they HATE having their nappy changed?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 21:51

what the traslation of measles in italian?

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:52

According to one UK newspaper there was an epidemic in northern Italy quite recently. I asked paed at the time but she'd never heard of it. I sometimes wonder if there's a lot of scaremongering from the UK about this. I didn't get DD vaccinated and everyone was cool about it, they just said fine your choice.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 21:53

morbillo

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 21:53

the second I thought but I am so relaxed about the dds and illness that I always worry I'm overlooking smthng. I didnlt take dd2 to the gp for temp. I thought he'll take her temp and give me some calpol, so what's the point. only took her when rush appeared. wrong?

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:53

morbillo

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 21:53

isn't german measles morbillo?

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:53

Lol! You can tell fastweb has a faster connection.

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:54

No, that's rosolia

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 21:54

Well Brange, in some areas of the UK the % of people vaccinated is under what they'd like it to be, so I suppose the are worried.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 21:55

rubella also is rosolia.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 21:55

ah so she's got rosolia not morbillo. sorry

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:56

In some areas in Italy too, as until recently it was facoltativo and a pagamento (or so they told me at consultorio), but I never see headlines in Repubblica about it.
