Ciao, hello, welcome!

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 17:37

I don't know Sputnik. It'd probably make me sill, but that's another story... is it humid? now, cold and humid I'd say not very healthy... but remember, I'm Italian

Off to get some dinner ready

Sputnik · 23/03/2009 17:37

Btw, any of you who don't feel you're wasting enough time on the internet should go and look here if you want something nice to hang on a wall.

Sputnik · 23/03/2009 17:39

Not humid at all, luckily.
Better light the fire....

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 17:39

sill? ill.

Oh what a pain re the mortgage. Buying a house in Italy is a 1000 times worse than buying it in the UK.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 17:45

God, you are evil

Sputnik · 23/03/2009 17:55
Sputnik · 23/03/2009 18:10

omfg, I am just realising myself the extent of my evilness.....

Sputnik · 23/03/2009 18:12

I may be gone some time......

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/03/2009 18:13

16 degrees? no, I'd be frozen, but then you know me, I wear a vest from sept til june !! in fact, I should start getting used to lower temp, as we've just got our gas bill .... thank god it's spring!

and my parents house is a nightmare to heat up too, old house, but they've just had a super duper stufa in ceramica i the living room which apparently is making the whole house really warm (they do have central heating, but it takes for ever, kitchen though is lovely with stufa a legna... our house here is old, so it gets hot in no time but as soon as you turn heating off it gets cold again...

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 18:54

at sputnik

Oh those stufe in ceramiche are lovely sunflower!

Our house in the Uk was pretty warm, especially after we fixed the floorboards in the living room, as they used to let lots of cold in.
The flat in Milan is really warm, but when it's very cold outside lots of spifferi come from the door and the old infissi.

viggoandjavier · 23/03/2009 19:25

just got rid of the kids and dp....feel drained...not sure what i will do tonight...

any developments on your ds, franca?

Rosa · 23/03/2009 19:55

16 is too cold for me Sputnik sorry couldn't cope - I hate having cold fingers and feet !
I am an aerosol convert as well and have used it on the dd's as a snot shifter - I prefer hot steam and olbas oil for me but I have been prescribed aerosol stuff but it doesn't seem to work.
Dh still being a bit pathetic and I just wish he would either be ill or well just not in the middle as I can't cope !
MInrosa shifted her feed pattern by almost an hour advance today and threw out the whole day ... lord knows what night we will have.
Mmm I was thinking about your ds the other day as well Franca and developments??

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 20:30

Viggo, what do you mean you got rid of the dc and dp? should we worry?

Ds's had a good week, thank you . He's been really nice to us/in a good mood and has opened up with me, talking about his friendship triangle and about getting apprehensive at school (he doesn't like being told off and cries).
I have an apt to see a child psychologist next monday for a chat.
He still wants me in the room while he falls asleep, but it takes him less time.

Rosa · 23/03/2009 20:36

I reckon Javier has found a good book .. NOthing on Tv tonight I can't cope with grande fartello.... ( I meant to spell it like that )

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 20:42

Lol at Grande fartello! It's shite, I've never actually managed to sit through any except perhaps a couple of episodes in the first series, plus maybe one or three when Filippo Nardi was on. I did like watching him on Loveline too, found him very amusing.

Off to read the reams of stuff you've all written since I was last here. I can't keep up!

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 20:42

Lol at grande fartello!

Still wonder where viggo has hidden her family

I meant to watch L'infedele, but as soon as I saw the despicable Castelli pulling faces at Gherardo Colombo I realized that I'd better not ruin my digestion and come on mn! Dh is playing football.

Rosa · 23/03/2009 20:49

I watched the first one and 2 episodes of the second and gave up. The only reality I liked was the circus one but they pulled it as it wasn't popular !!
Dh is in bed and he will probably have turned the light off - not removed minirosas changing stuff from the bed - just pushed it to my side and nicked my pillows !!
I wanted to make a donation to say Oxfam instead of doing bonboniere for mrosas battesimo ...Non si fa but I have to get like 6 different things as I refuse to get dust collecting useless things which means Ihave to go and decide and buy then find somebody to put them together ...I made all 200 for our weddings but I am sure as hell not doing these ( even if it is only a few)

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:00

My DP does that too (the pushing stuff to my side of the bed thing). He is also a bit like your DH wrt the north/south thing, didn't take his passport to Toscana - it was centro so still considered civilised - but any further south than Rome he'd be applying of a visa and vaccinations. Puglia gets off the hook for some reason, but only because "si mangia bene".

Lol at all the discussions re the evils of colpi d'aria, No Gio, they don't exist, I'm pretty sure most caves were full of spifferi and the human race didn't die out (unless homo sapiens italicus had specially insulated caves so didn't develop the immune streak? Boh). I love supposte (though have never tried them personally, of course) but am not convinced by aerosols, nor trips to le terme, like DD's paed wanted to prescribe when she was a bit stuffy.

Evil evil Sputnik with all this tempting onto time wasting sites. Are you also a crack pusher by any chance? No? You might as wel be. That's another few hours of my life disappearing into the void.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 21:03

Rosa donation to OXFAM would be lovely though.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 23/03/2009 21:23

Rosa, men, eh? DP does that to, he'll remove s.thing big/heavy, otherwise... and the way he "makes" the bed... s.times the duvet only goes as far as half the bed , or on the floor on one side and nothing on the other... donation sounds lovely, my friends did the Adozioni a distanza one, but that was for their wedding. Actualy, I'll have to sort bomboniere out too when I go in a couple of weeks, and date for battesimo for august....

OP posts:
Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:35

Does you DP roll and roll till all the duvet is wrapped around him? It happens here quite a lot. Then he complains he's hot. Well, you will be with a multiple layer swiss roll of a duvet.

Grr, really slow connection tonight.

francagoestohollywood · 23/03/2009 21:37

oh I'd kill for a slice of (real) swiss roll.
I had a healthy diner, but now I want something sweeeeeeeeet.

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:38

Aupair - I did ask my friend but she hasn't got back to me yet as she's away working. I'll try to speak to her again tomorrow and let you know.

Brangelina · 23/03/2009 21:41

I had a chocolate milkshake at the dreaded McDonalds (DD was there for a party this evening) and it seems to have filled a hole nicely.

Can I offer you some chocolate? Our fridge is full of the stuff and oddly enough I don't fancy any of it. Maybe I'm unwell or something

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 23/03/2009 21:42

I'm here, just went for a quick shop to ikea.

dd2 okay, rush almost gone but sleeps more than usuak and eats slightly less. still quite easy, poor child.

Me not so miserable as had a lovely time with the dds today. made lemon drizzle again (actually dd1 made it - it's her favourite).

not much else to say.
