Hee hee- can you imagine the MN pyre they'd put me on if they read it in English?????

I'm not normally like that but I've never seen such organised bullying at such a young age....they were at the other party- this ludoteca always does 2 at a time- dd is 5 btw.

Brangelina · 20/03/2009 14:28

Pippi, if she started an AIBU thread with that she'd get flamed. You'r not allowed to threaten other people's darling offspring, doncha know!

Brangelina · 20/03/2009 14:29

Ah xpost.

got to go and do some work, back later!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/03/2009 14:38

I normally do the brage approach but might try yours next time. sure works a treat !

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 20/03/2009 15:20

lol bucharest!!

hello BS, welcome back!! Rosa's riassunto's perfetc

Brange, GP said that even if the tonsils came out, there would be no sore-throat guarantee... oh, well... off to make a pot of tea before DP and DS come back as promised, lovely weather but got a bit chilly now...

oooooooohhhh, I want a bee too.... perfect for my Ape Maia

I had my tonsils out when I was 22- final yr of uni.....had been on antibiotics (which had rotted my front teeth- gosh I was a belle) for a whole year prior to having the snip (as it were) I still get the odd sore throat, with a cold etc, but my colds have always been more heady colds than throaty-chesty ones IYSWIM? Dd seems to be taking after me with the tonsils- 5 times last winter, but tocco ferro this year, we've escaped- so hopefully she's growing out of it.

Brangelina · 20/03/2009 16:53

Bucharest, how on earth did you end up living in Puglia - did you ever tell us? (sorry, brain a bit addled) Was it a holiday romance? I nearly ended up in provincia di Taranto but luckily got cold feet at the last minute. Actually no, I never even entertained the idea of going down there, with his mum who lived next door[shudder], but I did have a weak moment and nearly conceded.

Bucharest · 20/03/2009 17:03

Hmmmmm It was a terrible accident. I was a civil servant in need of adventure, so I applied for some TEFL-y kind of jobs...(for a year....) I was offered 2, one in Spain and one in Barletta (please don't laugh) It was 1994, world cup- quarter final I think, between Spain and Italy, so I said I'd go to the country who won the match. Pfffft. The funniest, is on the train on the way back from my interview I was sitting next to an Italian- who of course chatted, as Italians do on trains......I told him I'd been offered a job in Barletta and he said "That's not Italy, that's Africa"......He was from Foggia!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decided to do 2 yrs (glutton for punishment) Was about to leave and met dp. Chuh. Always did get my timing right, me.[hmmm]

Sputnik · 20/03/2009 17:10

LOL at civil servant in need of adventure

Bloody freezing again here, I thougt it was spring

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/03/2009 18:26

Bucharest LOL at the whole story - especialy at the foggiano (foggiese? boh) and your usual innate SOH!!

Brangelina · 20/03/2009 19:47

Lol at Barletta being Africa! I think they only ever propose these places to people who are total greenhorns when it comes to Italian geography. My cousin got offered Crotone but fell ill when she was about to go out there so someone else went instead. She was quite disappointed as she'd watched one of those holiday homes in the sun programmes and they were showing lovely flash villas for sal in Calabria.

I also always used to meet someone or get offered a new job just when I was about to go home. It was the arrival of my second cat that was the final nail in the coffin of any home-going plans. 2 pet passports are far too expensive.

gio71 · 20/03/2009 20:06

lol at Africa.
Oh grazie a Dio its Friday! Plllleeeeease let this be the weekend I win the lotto and give up work!
Sputnik it is bloody cold isnt it! What's that about???? Scuppered my beach plans for weekend although don't know if can be arsed to move off my sofa!
Just had a flick through some of the other threads earlier- so much CRAP being spouted (benefits ones, ghoulish ones, downright nasty ones). Why???? Meno male that this lovely thread is here

Sputnik · 20/03/2009 20:17

Yes it's freezing. We have a party to go to at an outdoor soft play tomorrow, and we're supposed to be goin to Ostia Antica on sunday. I hope we don't freeze. We all have colds too (again).
Moan moan.

Rosa · 20/03/2009 20:35

I love the phrases used at those delightful children. I probably would have done something similar I can do quiet a good snarl whilst talking sweetly .Usually used on cugini !!!!
Pippi I spat my cammomila over the pc when I read your comment on the weaning thread.
DH thinks Africa starts after Florence btw.. He took his passport when we went to Tuscany and the only time he went further south was when we had to fly from Fumicino ! Bloomin cold here have put minirosa in a cardy for tonight !
Gio sorry you won't win the lottery this w/e as I will must just remember to buy the ticket !

viggoandjavier · 20/03/2009 20:45

quick checking in, pleased to say rosa's baby is fine. hello to bs. Hope your dd 's tantrums are under control. Chicken alla damon was fantastic, put it in my recipe book. Lol at Bucharest, che palle i figli degli altri a volte...

and franca your ds? i always imagine roma to be warm, here sunny but chilly. Hello to you all.

Lol at Brange almost moving to Puglia and living next to mother in law ,big no, no...

I am feeling worn out and quite anxious. Watching a dvd on laptop.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/03/2009 21:29

viggo!!!!! I invented that recipe there and then but it sounded so good that I made it myself today and you're right... it was deeelicious!!!! I feel a bit of a nigella . it's gone in my recipe book too.
only change I marinated the chicken in red wine (cos I had a bottle left open ages ago) and added chilli. yummi.

had a row with dh so I'm sitting up up in the loft where connection is crap. might go to bed a read a book soon though.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/03/2009 21:37

can I ask?

would you consider yourself a frugal family?

viggoandjavier · 20/03/2009 21:43

yep, we are frugal, not by choice to start off with, but even if i win the lottery this weekend, i would carry on being frugal (except for a couple of nice handbags, shoes, etc)

marinated in red wine???? delicious, will ahve to try that (it will go in recipe book as Pollo alla Damon2)

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 20/03/2009 21:44

why damon2?

viggoandjavier · 20/03/2009 21:47

THE one marinated in red wine is damon2, the one not marinated in red wine, but seared with white wine is just Pollo alla Damon. I also have Agnello di Pippi and Pasta e ceci di Pippi.

Penthesileia · 20/03/2009 21:47

Missed the pollo alla Damon - recipe??

beforesunrise - hello! And to gio & Sputnik to whom I've not said hi for a while.

viggo - you're brave to enter that weaning thread: it got bafflingly heated at one point. I mean, what's the problem???

We are definitely not a frugal family. DH and I are rubbish with money. DD is probably doomed to a pauper's life.

viggoandjavier · 20/03/2009 21:47

why do you want to talk about being frugal?

Penthesileia · 20/03/2009 21:48

And Bucharest - in my dreams do you start that AIBU thread! (I imagine blood vessels popping up and down the country...)

viggoandjavier · 20/03/2009 21:51

I spent some time on the thread about whether you should praise the kids saying
"clever boy" or "well done". Until i devloped a head ache. And then the one by Bonsoiranna about whether our kids have an inner world..head ache no 2 followed. And the BLW thread is baffling, the benefits one gave me the impression that the posts were being written by those people who normally have those horrid Staffy dogs.

viggoandjavier · 20/03/2009 21:52

no offence to the Staffy dogs intended.
