Morning everyone
Just received a copy of DS1's Disney commercials he did, is really funny seeing him on tv and having words to say too! lol

DS1 has a tv casting on Wednesday, anyone else got anything coming up? We have officially had a whole week off from a casting now and I have really enjoyed it!!

Hi

HFD, well when we were there I heard one of them tell a mum that they would probably let people know the same day as they had auditioned the mum models on weds so would then match babies to them. Based on this reckon it must be a no - oh well never mind, guess in this game you have to get used to it.

Know what you mean about the NSPCC would be hard to see your LO playing a sad role.

yummymummyno1 · 28/11/2008 17:37

Haveabreak - re: SW we joined them in sept and got straight job within the first week, we have had three castings since then so definately get the work. Good Luck.

haveabreak · 28/11/2008 21:19

yummymummyno1 - well that sounds promising. I guess my son needs to pass the tests shots first. hopefully that will go well. dont really know what percentage sw takes on thier books after the shots. fingers crossed it goes well. do you have any castings coming up?

haveabreak · 01/12/2008 17:34

has anyone had any jobs from babyshak?

HellFireandDamnation · 01/12/2008 20:04

babyshak = bizzykids I think. They were there at our SMA casting (babyshak). Appl to everyone then decide! Be like me and take flipping ages over it!

Melody - update us here on the pringles!! Sounds great but I can't remember when you hear more etc etc as that board moves really quickly!

Been pencilled in for SMA!! Probably won't get it but amazed that our first casting gets a pencil! Don't think any of the babies took from the bottle and he obviously wasn't smiling in all of the shots!

haveabreak · 01/12/2008 20:38

HFD - thanks. I have accepted to go on to babyshak books and have sent through all paper work last week. Fingers cross i hear from them. I am also going for a test shoot with scallywags next week.

Babyshak are have a model book which you can be included in for a fee of £30. Can anyone tell me if that is worthwhile doing?

Onthebeach · 01/12/2008 21:58

HFD, well done, thats great, when did you find out that you were pencilled in, I was told that they would be telling people by last thursday as it needed to be licensed. Do you know how many they pencilled?
Will keep fingers crossed for you, do you know if they have pencilled for just your ds or you as well?.

Sequin1 · 02/12/2008 07:35

HFD - well done to you and DS, how exciting! When's the shoot? When will you know if you are more of a biro than a pencil!?

yisha200 · 02/12/2008 13:19

hi,i'm new, just got contract from UAN,hope anyone have experience with them could give any advice.Thank you!

HellFireandDamnation · 02/12/2008 19:51

Still a pencil - heard yesterday! Hope to hear by Friday! Still not hopeful but if by some miracle we get it he won't take the bottle! But they have moved the job date to the 16th!! How horrendous!! and no not me as well I didn't offer!!! Kimberley said there were probably about 5 pencilled but no others from AK

yisha - have a look on the netmums forum there's loads of UAN people on there - everyone highly recommends them.

christabel · 03/12/2008 13:11

Hi anyone had any work / castings with UAN. Can't wait for 1st phone call and website up and running.

pureedchesnutsonanopenfire · 03/12/2008 18:06

Yippee and hurrah- we've been offered a contract with UA!!!

Pilchard · 03/12/2008 18:43

Congrats pureed! We got the call from UA today too..over the moon!

Christabel I was told the web pages would be available to view on their website from the start of January. I didn't expect them to do anything before xmas so am happy with that

pureedchesnutsonanopenfire · 03/12/2008 20:58

Congrats Pilchard....don't suppose we ran into each other on Thursday did we?

Pilchard · 03/12/2008 21:27

Hi Pureed, no don't think so. DD's consultation was on a Saturday a few weeks ago

Curlylox · 04/12/2008 14:02

Just got home from shopping to read a letter from UA, politely declining.........feel quite numb, silly I suppose but a little confused as SW, BK, ES and KK said yes!
Not sure what to do now, as when SW BK and ES said yes had to reply within a certain time frame, which has long past and also their fees are quite high in comparison to UA and KK are quite new I've heard. TS mentioned to apply again in June, BB KL said no, MOT and Norrie Carr not taking on any junior models. I would really appreciate any advice you could offer.

puffling · 04/12/2008 22:55

Pilchard - were you told the new UA site is not ready till Jan? Those of us with UAN have been waiting ages. We were originally told the UAN site would go live on Oct 1st.

thenewstead6 · 06/12/2008 18:28

hi, re SMA, I assume they are doing something across the age range, as my 18 month old has a casting for SMA on Tuesday through SW?

Its his first audition - any advice?! For me as much as him - I'm the nervous one!

DS1 (13) hasn't had an audition with SW yet. They've been on their books since September.

HellFireandDamnation · 06/12/2008 23:48

Not pencilled anymore erased and no pen! No more idea than that really.

Was our first casting so no advice either other than don't expect it to be longer than 2 minutes! If it's 9 Coptic Street its ok venue but good luck if you are around rush hour times with a buggy!

dreadlocks · 07/12/2008 13:50

HFAD sorry to hear your pencil was erased, though getting a pencil on your first casting was pretty good going.
thenewstead6 good luck with the casting, just take plenty to keep little one amused in case you have a wait. I also have a 13year old ds with Sw -we have very quiet periods and very busy ones so I am sure your ds will get the same. We might even run into each other at a casting.

christabel · 07/12/2008 16:54

Puffling - I spoke to UAN and was told it should go live before Chrismas so fingers crossed. Did say lots of work coming through though. Have you had any castings/ calls.

thenewstead6 · 07/12/2008 18:33

HellFireandDamnation - its at Paul Bricknell and yes it looks like rush hour
Sorry to hear about the pencil...

dreadlocks - thanks for the advice! I am already thinking about best toys to take.. it would be good if we do run into each other. My dh usually take ds1 to things (dh is an actor - just starting out) so I've got the deal for taking ds4 (toddler) to his stuff!

thenewstead6 · 08/12/2008 13:00

Me again! Another question... SW say on their contract that kids get audition fees, but this SMA one has no casting fee or chaperone fee mentioned, only the details if called for the shoot... is that normal? Travelling to London seems quite expensive especially as I was hoping dh would come along with me to get me there (not good at first time travelling to places!) and help with pushchair at rush hour...

pureedchesnutsonanopenfire · 08/12/2008 13:30

First casting.....Friday morning for the Fairy Baby. I'm all a quiver with excitement. Since having the consultation photos I have invested in a super-light pushchair as not a single bugger helped me up stairs last time! Anything else I should have? Anyone else going?

HellFireandDamnation · 08/12/2008 21:28

puree - well done - that would be a great one! What agency are you with? No-one helped on the stairs - is that th tube? Really? I have to say London tubes nightmare but always had help on stairs. Don't even have to try glaring sighing or looking incompetent, or maybe the latter comes naturally!

thenwestead - we were getting £18 for travel I think for SMA. £18 for the casting anyway. I think if you get an amount it's a blanket fee whatever the costs but someone here will know more than me that's for sure!
