Morning everyone
Just received a copy of DS1's Disney commercials he did, is really funny seeing him on tv and having words to say too! lol

DS1 has a tv casting on Wednesday, anyone else got anything coming up? We have officially had a whole week off from a casting now and I have really enjoyed it!!

Rioja.. if you live in London, travel expenses wouldn't be nearly as much as melody has paid.. communting into the capital obviously can increase that side of it quite a lot! defintely agree tho its a hobby and not a career !!
good luck
2P4K.. my dd has been with rascals and we were happy with them.. their fees are more than some

ichef · 03/11/2008 14:36

2points4kids I'd try UA, Kids London, Bruce & Brown as well but have seen Rascals at many castings, what other agencies have you tried?

Melody have you received any payments yet? Just curious as we haven't.

I'm in the middle of a nightmare trying to find a new nanny, hate having to start looking for someone new .

MelodyDaisy · 03/11/2008 15:51

Ichef no we haven't received any payments yet unfortunately.
Your current nanny no good? I recall you taking her with you to a job recently but I don't envy you trying to find someone new, good luck!!

It doesn't cost me too much but I had a few jobs/casting that were early appt and got stung for £56 a time!! OUCH!! Plus the fact DS1 had been going into London 2-3 times a week which I gather isn't necessarily the norm either, was just giving the worst case scenario I guess!! lol

I am with AK Liahgen

is anyone else going to the monsoon casting on wednesday?

yummymummyno1 · 03/11/2008 16:59

No - but wish I was!!

Curlylox · 03/11/2008 19:43

Not sure what to do - now have a yes from SW but have ten days to "enrol/join/sign up" but DD has been shortlisted with UA and have another week and a half to wait for a response (hmm)

pureeandpearls · 03/11/2008 20:22

We're in a similar boat Curlylox.....I HATE WAITING!!!

Curlylox · 03/11/2008 20:26

Hi pureeandpearls

Am trying to keep myself busy as I don't like waiting either.......oooh you will have to let me know how you get on....only if you want to of course

ichef · 03/11/2008 20:40

Melody current nanny is brilliant but decided the UK isn't for her so have no choice but to look, wish me luck!

Curlybox I'd wait to hear at least if you'll be called for the consultation, if so then maybe you should ask Scallywags for a few days extra to make up your mind? I'm sure they'll be ok with it.

Luce2006 · 03/11/2008 22:55

HI ichef! glad to hear you ds did well at the shoot!!!shame we couldn't make it to the casting, it could have been nice to maybe meet you there!!

joflow · 04/11/2008 09:49

Hersetta · 04/11/2008 12:15

Mt DD has just booked her first job - she is doing a Tomy Toys shoot for Teletubbies tomorrow.
We didn't even have to go to a casting - is that usual?

brooke77 · 04/11/2008 12:21

hi hersetta.. congrats on ur dd's 1st job and hope she has a super time!! often companies do book children direct without castings.. always a bonus when that happens !!

ds has been invited to consultation with UA.. anyone else?

Karamel · 04/11/2008 12:26

Hi there
Has anyone heard from UA? I have just had an email asking them to call re an appointment. Am really pleased

brooke77 · 04/11/2008 12:28

hi karamel.. well done !! my ds has been invited too !

Karamel · 04/11/2008 12:30

opps ...Sorry brooke77....just read your post

Karamel · 04/11/2008 12:39

Congrats to you to brooke.....is your son with an agency already?

Curlylox · 04/11/2008 12:51

Excellent news for you - Karamel & Brooke77
Keep your fingers crossed for me please

dreadlocks · 04/11/2008 12:57

Hersetta,
I think Tomy tend to pick models from website rather than having castings as we ahd a shoo without a casting,it's nice when that happens but most companies do tend to have castings.
H

MelodyDaisy · 04/11/2008 13:02

All my dc's photographic job have been without a casting!! lol Just depends on the company as well I suppose.

Thanks Curlylox- but it's still a waiting game...alhough I do find UA method of selecting children a bit hmm . It is dragged out a bit. Not that I'm not happy, don't get me wrong, but they really seem to make you want to feel 'grateful' that they have considered you. Hope I haven't offended anyone !!!

brooke77 · 04/11/2008 13:27

Karamel.. i think with UA that because they open their books for such a short period, they probably have SO many applications to wade thru that this is why their selection process is somewhat longwinded.
how old is your dc?

Serenbach · 04/11/2008 13:30

Well done Karamel and Brooke on being invited to the UA consultation and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Curlylox x

Hersette - fantastic news about the Tomy shoot, hope you have a great day. Let us know how your DD gets on with her first job.

Karamel · 04/11/2008 13:53

Brooke
I can understand that, but other agencies get as many applications.
It not necessarily the time factor I am talking about,as other agencies can take a while to let you know. Generally agencies that are interested in your child make YOU feel as though you are important to them, whereas I feel UA do not give that impression.I accept this may not be the case one with the agency.
This may all be fuelled by the Hype that everyone wants their child to join UA..and they are now trying to be more selective than anyone else.... Just my opinion
My DD is 4 by the way
