Morning everyone
Just received a copy of DS1's Disney commercials he did, is really funny seeing him on tv and having words to say too! lol

DS1 has a tv casting on Wednesday, anyone else got anything coming up? We have officially had a whole week off from a casting now and I have really enjoyed it!!

why do photographers need to pay for babies and kids to do their shots? Why don't they just use their jobs? I don't understand that.

I have only taken my other dc along to casting once but you do see siblings there and no-one seems to mind. I try not to take them simply because ds1 has his castings at rush hour around oxford circus etc which are the worst possible places for tiny children!!
They wouldn't like it so much taking them along on a job though!

hellfire, photographers like to do new techniques or styles for there own portfolia so thats why they do personal shoots,if they do a job they have to do what the client wants.

Hi, just thought I would let you know how I got on. Found the studios no problem which was good, literally we were in there for about 20 mins and only about 3 mins of those was to take pics! Other babies there too, just went one after the other. DS was good though so guess we just wait and see, either way its just nice to 'have a go'

dreadlocks - thanks for your reponse about sw. Is there anything i should do before hand to increase my chances and how quickly after the shoot did you get a castings?

Haveabreak-hmm not sure really, just make sure you are on time as they run on a fairly tight schedule. Really it's just the way your ds reacts to having his photo taken- they have a range of toys to attract attention etc. We had our initial shoot in the July and didn't hear anything until mid September (and i missed the call as I had left my phone at home and it was too late when i did get back to them) then we had a straight job in the Oct and Nov and haven't really looked back since.

sobusy - no idea of course! But does that mean def PH? Looked on other site but there's loads going on and it moves so fast! I remember something about buy out fees on this board and someone said that they knew someone who got 18k! Car commercial!

Melody - oi! bring us up to speed! on the other site I think you have said Pringles is def? all too much to go through over there if you miss a day!

buyouts vary massively.You will get paid the day fee and then if your child is featured in the final commercial then you get a buyout based on number of times it will be used and which countries it will be used in. PH ad will probably be shown a lot so you should be into 4 figures.If the ad is then shown more than originally agreed then you get the buyout again or if shown in more countries than originally agreed.Each company works slighty differently but it should be a nice pay packet!
some ads seem to run and run others disappear then reappear. The one for cheese strings appeared again the other week,the on with the lad talking to his teacher about why it was a healthy snack, that has been around for several years so that lad must be laughing.

Hell fire, the licenses have gone in today, talking about where it will be filmed, have a stayover in London! and two days in Nottinham, starting this Monday. Had a phone call from wardrobe lady. Although should get all the details tomorrow.

the little girl in the petit filou ad is one of 2 daughters who are home schooled.their mother is french and they are fluent, both girls.

That whole family filmed the british airways ad couple years ago, and got 65k for it. I know this as me and my family were shortlisted for it. some of it was shot in bermuda. bugger.

does anyone remember the standard life boy who had a voice over, he got 20k for 2 year contract to do 6 ads.

Totally...no not for us .DD been really ill all week she has her photo updates tomorrow she should have gone last week but wasnt well enough.

mary its for photo library,only dh is away,baby dd is very all and if i take eldest to it i have to take all 3 of em,so might not go.
Looked in witch mag didnt see our girls. Hope your dd feels ok by tomorrow,is awful doing a shoot when you feel ill.

she used to be with mot when they first started i thought. she's similar age to my ds and used to see them all the time at stuff. i'm sure they've got a nice little uni fund.

The next ones is out just before christmas the girl on the front must have been at dd one as she has a coat on that was hanging up.

I love the petit Filous girl.I hope my DD is in an advert as entertaining. Love the Worthers Original advert, little lad in car talking about all the cool stuff his friend has, dad feels abit reject, kid says, his friends dad is more of a virtual dad, not like you!

What would make you think twice about letting your LO avdvertise? Anyone done this?

Marymay, I hate the plastic wrapping too. Not fair you can't look before you buy!!!

HFD, no we didnt get any photos its only for the baby/babies they choose for the shoot, that would have cool to get them from the casting!

Petit filous - maybe she was with one agency and the other offerred a better deal?!

Liaghen - jaw droppingly sympathy for you there. Think what a bummer was an understatement!

Re buyout - if it's worked out on how many times it will be used e.g. a commercial that's one thing but how would they have worked it out for the John Lewis baby and others? Tv advert, adverts in national papers but also on a loop in every store every day for last few weeks and presumably up to Xmas?

Sobusy - now there's a question - would be very interested in other opinions but I would probably be unhappy do an NSPCC. Don't get me wrong I support the charity! Just that awful advert where the baby is in the cot crying and stops with the saddest face ever and no-one comes. I wouldn't want to put my baby through that unhappiness! It was bad enough being told at SMA casting that they didn't want smiling babies!

Here's another for you - would do a political broadcast promotion for a party you don't support?!
