Morning everyone
Just received a copy of DS1's Disney commercials he did, is really funny seeing him on tv and having words to say too! lol

DS1 has a tv casting on Wednesday, anyone else got anything coming up? We have officially had a whole week off from a casting now and I have really enjoyed it!!

Yes it was a bit of a wait (about 3/4 of an hour). I must admit DP said we should sort out a bit of a pack to keep them entertained. We were a bit naive today and thought it was going to be a quick in and out. Plus I didn't realise that there would be so many there!!

You live and learn. We'll be better prepared next time.

MelodyDaisy · 20/11/2008 23:33

Main thing is he didn't run off and refuse to go in the room so I wouldn't worry

I always take ds1's book and he sits there and you never hear a peep from him!! lol

I take pack lunch food and a toy for dd and ds2 who are 5 and 3.

Sobusy, I haven't even had time to look at where the casting is tomorrow! I know it's apparently near Oxford Street, haven't been to it before which surprises me!!

Any opinions about Kids Plus London which is under new management again.

marymay · 20/11/2008 23:53

DD enjoyed her casting but she was really late going in over two hours .Thet filmed the children for ages.

MelodyDaisy ds has the kingsmill casting tomorrow cant really think about it yet still getting over todays.

Totallyfloaty35 · 21/11/2008 09:36

alpha, never heard of kidsplus london, but there is an excellent agency called kids london, try them instead

sobusy · 21/11/2008 09:44

marymay and grumpalina, hope it goes well for castings today and you don't have to wait too long!

Waiting to hear about Pizza Hut job for DD, she has been penciled in, might find out on Monday with any luck.

MelodyDaisy · 21/11/2008 11:02

marymary, what time is your casting?
I'm after 5 are you?
How old is your ds?

I can't believe you had to wait over two hours, that's gotta be the worst ever!! I only thank the lucky stars that has not happened when I have had my 3yr old with me!!

Well seems to have gone quiet for everyone!! No post since Friday?

Marymay- You heard anything back on the Kingsmill commercial yet? I wonder how many kids they saw that day. Should imagine whoever has been shortlisted would have been notified today as recalls are on Friday, oh well, onto the next

OP posts:
MelodyDaisy · 24/11/2008 13:32

DS1 has been recalled and pencilled for Kingsmill

Recall is tomorrow, Marymay, you had a call?

OP posts:
HellFireandDamnation · 24/11/2008 14:35

hello!! Been called for a casting! Can't remember Sequin 1's son's name can you Melody as I can't get on the site to see everyone anymore!! Not sure I'm going to be able to do it though! They need to be drinking from a bottle and he is breast fed and only has a bottle in the evening! TYPICAL! Waiting to speak to Kimberley and see what she says! Even if offerred a bottle I don't think he'll take it. Casting is at lunch time and he has water. Oh XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!

MelodyDaisy · 24/11/2008 14:44

You won't know till you get there I suppose! Get him on a bottle ASAP!!

I can't remember her son's name, but perhap's she'll read this and let you know if she's going along too.
What's it for HFD?

OP posts:
HellFireandDamnation · 24/11/2008 14:50

The irony! SMA and it's a commercial!!!!So rare for babies I've been watching!! Year old 2nd Jan and he's exclusively breast fed! The irony! I don't have any problems with advertising SMA though. I express and he has a bottle in the evenings so he does "do bottle"!! I just hope he'll take it at lunchtime! he may well do as casting is at lunchtime! He'll think it very odd having abottle before food! It's the West End too 8th December how foul will that be?! Was about to put names down that Kimberely listed in email but thought we shouldn't put names here. Have spoken tp DP he thinks there will be no problem him taking the bottle!

JFly · 24/11/2008 15:21

Feel a bit about asking, but how do you know your LO is "good" enough to be a model? I'm considering sending some photos to agencies (DS is 8 months) but wonder if it's really worth it. Obviously I think he's gorgeous, but I'm not sure he's cute enough for modelling work. I think his temperament would be a plus, as he's smiley, chilled and good natured. But his look and colouring are maybe not so different to lots of other babes. Is it mostly distinctive looking babies that are chosen or do you think there's opportunity for the less "interesting" ones, too? [Hope you get my meaning ]

MelodyDaisy · 24/11/2008 15:26

How do you know your child is good enough? No-one know's until sending off to join agencies to see if they accept your child and if they do (reputable ones) then he/she obviously has a look they think clients would want at some point. The fact your son is smiley and easy going for a baby would possibly work in his favour too! You won't know until you try

p.s. I think he's very cute

MelodyDaisy...well done to your ds for the call back
we havent heard anything . but good to hear you have fingers crossed x

MelodyDaisy · 24/11/2008 15:30

Marymay- you never know, still time for agency to ring Would be nice seeing you and your ds Let me know if you are called x

OP posts:
Sequin1 · 24/11/2008 15:37

Hey HFD, always lurking! Congrats on the casting, might as well give it a whirl, if anything for the experience and you never know your LO could come up trumps!

HellFireandDamnation · 24/11/2008 15:53

Melody - good news about the call back.

Sequin 1 - are you going??
JFly - there is no apparent rhyme or reasoning to any acceptance at all! Some of the websites openly show the pics so you can see a full range. Look at ads etc., a right old mix, as far as I can see there is no reasoning behind any choice! So bung your photos off to all the reputable agencies! Clear photo and make sure he's smiling in the photo!

HellFireandDamnation · 24/11/2008 15:59

Do they get paid for castings?

Sequin1 · 24/11/2008 16:01

Hi HFD, no, no-one has called, bet you are excited though, first casting!!

Sequin1 · 24/11/2008 16:04

Hi HFD, have you sent in your photo updates? Do we have to do it every 4 weeks?

MelodyDaisy · 24/11/2008 16:07

Depends, all the photographic work is, not all the tv stuff is though unfortunately. Just make sure you ask Kimberley each time you get a casting if there's a casting fee or not.

OP posts:
HellFireandDamnation · 24/11/2008 16:08

yep - but he'd had bronchitis so it wasn't very good (taken just at the beg and I said I'd get better ones when he was better.

Yep! Excited!! Probably won't get the job but wouldn't it be a fab Xmas present?! They want mums too but I said I'm not as photogenic as my son!!!!
