Morning all
September's thread was very long so thought best to start a new thread as Brooke77 suggested too!

Am off to London again tomorrow for DS1 has a tv show casting, anyone have anything coming up?

Any of you had contract's through from UAN yet?

Hi moresh

KL are a great agent and selective so well done. Everyone says 2-3 is not a gd age to model but it depends on child. I dont have much advice as my son is nearly 3 only done it for 1 year and got 3 jobs.

me1971 · 28/10/2008 13:50

Hi I'm new to this. My DD age 2 and 1/2 has been accepted by UA North. . I think I read a few pages back that someone had a format for the Drs letter. Can anyone help ? It is all so exciting and great to read these threads.

MelodyDaisy · 28/10/2008 13:53

Hi Joflow-Yes I did go to meet them. My DS1 just read an extract from a play and dd repeated some phrases that Lisa said to her and then photographed. DS2 was just photographed but then he sang his songs for them too
DD has had 1 job
DS1 has had 4 jobs and had to turn another job down
DS2-Has had 2 jobs
We joined them in August and we haven't had a week off from castings yet, AK are called for alot of things, both photographic and commercial.

Me1971-FAB NEWS!!

You can just ask your doctor to type the letter, or book an appt taking a copy for him to just sign and then you may get it for free, worth a try!

mrsosh- Well done on KL and for both kids too!
You should approach them about your twins, does depend on look and behaviour of children at that age as to whether they'd get some work.
My DS2 is 3 yet height of 2yr old so put forward for that age range and has had 2 jobs already(only joined August) but his temperament and easy goingness is super for that age!

haven't read all through this but can i ask do you have to live near London to get child modelling jobs? We live on West Midlands/Staffordshire border so i'm wondering if there would be any point trying to approach any agencies or even if there are any agencies near here?
DD is 15 months and had lovely photos taken yesterday at mothercare and really enjoyed herself.

ichef · 28/10/2008 14:46

DS1 has just been booked for a job, his very first job in the UK, so exciting!!

mrsosh KL are very good and very selective so congrats on being accepted! I think you should apply for your twins too, there must be a good market for twins, I imagine.

brooke77 · 28/10/2008 14:54

ichef.. super news !!! very exciting for him and good luck !!

MelodyDaisy · 28/10/2008 14:55

Ichef-Whoo-hoo!! What's it for? Is he excited?!!

ilovetochat-yes there are agencies more midlands way, I know UAN have now closed their books, but could try mot? There are a few agencies in Birmingham too.

P.S. I am originally from West Midlands, little place called Rugeley!

my dd joined kids london at 2 years old and it was her busiest time with them yet! she was getting a casting and a job more or less every month, things slowed down a bit when she was 3 i think that is because most agencies dont have alot of 2 year olds on their books so less competition and when she turned 3 the cometition was higher she is now 4 and has had a few jobs this year but its been very quiet. good luck with those going with kl they are very good at what they do and get alot of work for their kids, they can seem abrupt when you first join but once you get to know them they are ok, sue the owner is lovely to talk to.

im nervously waiting to see if dd pictures are going to be used in dec and jan issue of junior magazine!!

tinkerbellchelle · 28/10/2008 15:25

Ichef - congrats

Had an email from Sarah and pictures are being sent out today so should be here in next few days - will be excited to see which one's they chose of DS

ellesmum - fingers crossed they use your DD x

Totallyfloaty35 · 28/10/2008 15:57

Congrats ichef, anyone going to the Halifax casting tomorrow? just turned it down as its an open casting and i hate those, but DD not very pleased that i turned it down for her,she is convinced she will get the job

ichef · 28/10/2008 16:07

ellesmum fingers crossed she gets used I'd love to see my kids in Junior, fab magazine isn't it?

ellesmum · 28/10/2008 16:17

ichef - your kids are lovely! good luck with the job.

MelodyDaisy · 28/10/2008 16:30

They are lovely, they also have great big eyes like my DC!!

My dd's job was for Tesco's, the shoot was all they way in the middle of nowhere on farmland in Kent!! No-one had told us it was an outdoors shoot either so our clothes got covered!! lol
Hope it's a great experience

Congrats ichef...I'm quite envious of you all and your jobs. Does anyone else have a baby or are all the kids you discuss a little older?

I'm having a nightmare trying to get a good shot of DD- AK said they needed a better one of her for their website. I've got a horrid feeling it's our camera, so might have to get a new one!!! Any suggestions?

MelodyDaisy · 28/10/2008 17:10

Just a room in good light with white walls or something. It may be your camera too, could you not borrow a friend or family members? I borrowed my friends camera who lives down the road as mine bust.
Alot of people on here have babies, there's alot of work for them too!

Sequin1 · 28/10/2008 17:15

Hi pureeandpearls

My DS who is 8 months is with AK, and we too had to retake our photos as Kimberley said we needed better ones. Did she send you an example of what they need, she did for me and it helped. I put a white towel over his bouncy chair for the head shot and over the sofa for the f/l shot, bizarre as it might sound I played peekaboo and I just held the camera and snapped when I said boo as he always smiles (yeah yeah picture it I know!) and kept going til I got a good one, then cropped it down to size. Hope that makes sense! Have you just joined AK? I have too.

joflow · 28/10/2008 17:23

Hi

How many mums with AK got appointment tommorow. Do you meet Kimberly? Is it htere office as it says on email starlight studios.

Melody did you have to pay? They have not sent any info apart from where it is and a little about what will happen.

MelodyDaisy · 28/10/2008 18:15

I met both Kimberley and Lisa and I get on great with both!

The fee for AK is £117 which include's the photographic shot's for website which are really good bytheway, slightly cheaper for kids under 3.

OP posts:
pureeandpearls · 28/10/2008 18:16

Thanks for the tips! I should ask Kimberley for an example, but have just tried covering her highchair in a white sheet, and she threw up all over her vest!! Tried again on kitchen table and wrapped a white sheet over her like a bib and stood on the table shouting....what the neighbours must have thought

Sequin- was offered sign up yesterday, so still early days. Fingers crossed it works out for us too!

Joflow- no appointment yet....

joflow · 28/10/2008 19:34

Hi

I am quite pleased that AK could see me as next slot was for next year but they worked around it and fitted me in tommorow. I think had a mum who could not make it lucky for me. They seemed very keen to see him as normaly under 3s dont see just put on web site.

Ap[art from Melody anyone else with AK and had work?

joflow · 28/10/2008 19:39

Hi Melody

Sorry to keep asking you but what did you put on your LO. Somethink bright or white?

Curlylox · 28/10/2008 20:04

Hello all

Need your opinions/advice please.....Have applied to MOT BB KL TS ES BK KK SW and UA. BB and KL said no. TS said try again June 09 and MOT not taking on any junior models at present (that's what letter said). ES BK KK and SW said yes, going for test shoot with DD tomorrow with SW. UA sent email saying they would give me decision by Monday 3rd Nov. So who would you go with and why?
