Hi Ichef

When you were looking at agencies did you find out about ES client base how do you know they get lots of work?

My DS is 3 but they r keen and have booked him for photos.

They have alot of babies but so do everyone else SW,AK U/A etc they always take alot.

They have only 10-13 in my DS age group and none with similar look. SW have 20 with same colour eyes hair etc and 44 in age group.

When you talked to ES who did you talk to?
Sorry for all questions but i want to be sure.Hope you can help

joflow · 27/10/2008 23:49

Hi Housemum

She is sooooooooooooooooo cute welldone.Nice to see lo doing well.

HellFireandDamnation · 28/10/2008 00:32

Housemum - see, how many times have I said M & S use beautiful babies?

joflow - think I replied about your indecision and said about AK - can't see a response from Ichef so not sure if you mean me or I've missed the post but hopefully I'll answer the queries anyway! The indecision is hard but once you make a choice it's a lot easier, unless you are impatient like me and can't wait for the phone to ring!

I just spoke to whoever it was who sent the accept email - Charlotte I think. Client bases are often on the websites - ES gave me some over the phone. I contacted companies and asked who they use - some of them said a few but missed out ones which I know work for them so you can't rely on customer services being up to date! Mothercare M & S and the like all use ES AK KL BK. Think others on here have said that the "top end" fashion such as Junior use KL MOT Bruce and brown (someone will correct me if that's wrong). Seems from these forums that all the agencies get work Not seen any posts from anyone with BK I think, but when I asked similar qus to you I was told that they are at castings etc. ES had 100 babies AK 50. You can look on ES website to see how many they have in your age range - I used to be able to see the kids on AK but can't now! But do remember Kimberley saying 20 on books 50 were babies I think. Says on the website. AK has clent list but Melody who goes to stuff every week(!) has been to things with them not on their list Timberland for e.g.)

Wouldn't go with agency where there are kids with similar looks - but then if the client is looking for that they will call you whatever agency you're with I suppose! imo tho I would like not to be with similar ones but the more experienced here can probably help on that.

Just think it's luck of the draw so go with who you lie on the phone, that and cost!
I never heard from KK or SW - rude I think!

HellFireandDamnation · 28/10/2008 00:33

like not who lies!

brooke77 · 28/10/2008 07:03

morning all !! dd up early this morn !!
well, we've def decided to go with KL and not wait on UA.. so i'm getting form and measurements ready to send.

KL mums.. pls can someone tell me if they will forward me a contract once they have received the form from me? thanks !

joflow.. any closer to making a decision?

Housemum.. what a lovely little dd you have.. gorgeous brown eyes !!!

tinkerbellchelle · 28/10/2008 07:41

Brooke congrats on KL

Hope everyone is well, seems lots have been busy on here lately Well done

Not long till UAN official launch - just wanna see DS's pictures and see which ones they have chosen LOL

Housemum - your DD's pictures are lush - u must be so proud

joflow · 28/10/2008 08:20

Hi

ES have alot of babies but so do others SW have 295 0-23 months. If you cant see other children how do you know.

Iam 90% on ES but i have to say it was nice that KK contacted me by phone and sounded lovely but very new so unsure.

SW r sooooooooooo friendly and did get him 3 jobs in 2s stage. Oh i need to make a choice and stick to it. ES i think as highly rated been in business 50yrs got to be doing somethink right. And when i contacted companys she was the first name and was mentioned each time. Also in my ds age only 10 and 1 same colour eyes and hair but dont look same.

Soon ladies you will not need to listen to me going on about the same thing.

Sequin1 · 28/10/2008 08:23

Brooke77 - congrats on KL,

Housemum - your DD is adorable!

mummyshoneys · 28/10/2008 08:31

Hi Brooke77

my 3 are with KL and we just returned the form they sent us, and we went on the books straight away. Had a casting pretty soon afterwards - 2 weeks I think

Good luck!

x

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 28/10/2008 08:35

well done brooke, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Sue is very particular about who she takes on and is keen on her rep as an agent who sends the right kids to csatings. (does that make sense)

Just get your forms back to them and she'll start looking for jobs for your lo asap.

good luck

brooke77 · 28/10/2008 09:03

hi liahgen.. many thanks !
bit confused tho.. do i actually get a contract??

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 28/10/2008 09:42

tb perfectly honest i seem to remember getting one the first year we were with them, but after that, not. Just get a letter every august telling us to phone and book the web/book shoot.

If i wanted to leave, i would just call and tell them don't put ds/dd forward we are taking a break.

Exciting isn't it?

brooke77 · 28/10/2008 09:44

Thanks.. yes tis exciting !!

Totallyfloaty35 · 28/10/2008 10:06

Hi HFD,was not me who pm you, dont actually no how the netmum site works really
I have kids with BK,they are ok and both my girls have had work, they answer all queries and are friendly. But my girls are much older than most on here. But have met other BK kids on jobs who do a lot of work,so much that they turn some down as child miss too much school otherwise.

joflow · 28/10/2008 10:15

Hi

Junior also use ES as i contacted them. Also on ES web page there is Junior shoot.

I think all use agencies as and when swapping around etc. My DS did New look for SW and there were kids from KL,BB and now the New look winter has been done by U/A as on there web site.

I think they use all the key is what was said earlier pick an agent who dont have many kids that look like yours and smaller age groups.

Tinkerbel6 · 28/10/2008 10:25

joflow my dd was with ES as a baby and had 2 jobs in 2 years, seeing as your child is a toddler it might be a bit different, but you could go with them just for a year to see how your child gets on and if you are not happy then start looking for a new agent when the next lot of fees are due.

joflow · 28/10/2008 10:41

Hi Tinkerbel

Who are you with now?

dreadlocks · 28/10/2008 10:58

housemum-- your dd is lovely,

joflow · 28/10/2008 12:04

Hi Hellfiredamanation

I have an appointment tommorow for AK thet rang me Kimberly and asked to see my DS so i am going to go and see what i think.

I will then make up my mind about ES.

I cant rember as this moves so fast but are your LO with AK and if so how long and had any work.

MelodyDaisy · 28/10/2008 12:08

Joflow- Good Luck, it's alway's a good idea to go and see the agencies to help you make up your mind.Let us know how you get on

joflow · 28/10/2008 12:16

Hi Melodydaisyid

Your LO with AK and you have done well. Did you go to meet them.

IF so what did they have to do. I think your DS same age as mine how many jobs he done?

Tinkerbel6 · 28/10/2008 12:27

joflow DD is now with B&B, good luck with AK and they do get the work.

joflow · 28/10/2008 12:39

Hi Tinkerbel6

Were you with AK? if so what work did you get?

mrsosh · 28/10/2008 12:50

Hi, thank you for the replies we decided to wait to hear from all agencies before making up our mind we just got a yes from Kids London today so if the others don't accept them I might go with Kids London.

I also wanted to ask something else I have three year old twin girls and when I applied to the agencies I only sent photos of ds and dd1 as they're a bit older and some people said agencies don't like 2-3 year olds, is this true? Also are certain agencies better for certain ages/looks? Just wondering.
