Morning all
September's thread was very long so thought best to start a new thread as Brooke77 suggested too!

Am off to London again tomorrow for DS1 has a tv show casting, anyone have anything coming up?

Any of you had contract's through from UAN yet?

joflow · 27/10/2008 19:43

Hi

I got a reply from U/A today saying they have a child with similar look so they would not be asking my child for consultation so you may here soon.

I am fine with this as i have other agents who said yes SW,ES,BK and AK but still cant make my mind up. I have been trying to think which is best out of them.

I was thinking ES but no one seems to see them on castings or had direct experince and everyone has heard gd for babies?????????

christabel · 27/10/2008 19:47

My DD in this weeks Aldi Leaflet but she hates photo - I didn't think it was her best but still picked up about 30 leaflets in the store!!!!.
Good luck to all joined UAN and hope the phone starts ringing next week.

ichef · 27/10/2008 20:06

dreadlocks I think I might have one of those leaflets will have a look where I put them and see if your ds is in it.

For those waiting to hear from UA two friends who applied already got a no so if you heard nothing it might be good news.

HellFireandDamnation · 27/10/2008 20:37

Mummyeme - calm down!! Thanks to those saying no harm was meant! Gordon Bennett! - if you've been watching this thread you would see that I've been saying that I am the most impatient person in impatient land and I would just like one little job! It's the only advert I've seen with babies in it that's why I picked up on that one - it could have been anything and obviously everyone thinks their own baby is the cutiest. Blimey! Other people picked up it was only a joke so hopefully so you wil belive me when I say it was! Oh well, that's all I'm saying!

Melody - your kids are sooo busy!! You need to check out the tax limit for kids!! Buy them a laptop out of their earnings or something to put against tax!!

Forgotten who was saying they oculdn't make a choice! Well, I took about a month I think and similar choice. AK, ES BK, I took ages and huge amount of ramblings on here! I chose AK (ds 9 months) decided when I spoke to them that Es were very professional etc etc but I'm not in business work mode where ds is concerned it has to be happiness and Kimberley at AK seems a laugh and really nice so I went with them. I don't think there's any rhyme or reason in the end (which is the advice people gave me) right at the cheapest end and seem very down to earth. The only criticism people seem to have about them is that they can be narky if you say no to a job or don't keep your photos and details up to date. But to be honest look at what you sign up to, it's a contract and you agree to it so to be fair they are only goingto be cross if you break the contract. Also, it goes against you as well as them if you don't keep your details up to date. The most difficult thing is getting a good photo of a baby in white against a white background. I got ds all excited and smiley and then he was sick with excitement! BK appear to accept everyone on these boards but do get work, ES loads of babies but get loads of work. People rave about UA on netmums.

HellFireandDamnation · 27/10/2008 20:39

Totally
Oh well done! will look tomorrow!!

christabel · 27/10/2008 20:41

No of us would be human if we didn't say something if our kids have missed out. My DD was down to last 2 DD's for an Iceland advert last year. Imagine how I felt everytime that advert came on in between Celebrity Jungle.

Housemum · 27/10/2008 20:44

Dreadlocks - have you tried going into local Game store (try midweek when kids at school so it's quiet) and asking if they could look at the inserts? Think they usually have the stuff behind the counter there rather than in shrink wrap like the supermarkets?

Tesco question - can anyone near a Tesco store with clothing please have a look at the babywear section to see if there is a brown-haired girl on a chair, or standing by a chair, in a red party dress? Our local branch (nr Basingstoke) has the other (blonde) girl, but I know that when they last did posters, each store had diff ones out as I managed to get an 8ft one of DD3 that hadn't been used in our local store (they only put them out if they actually stock the particular outfit and our Tesco is small)

HellFireandDamnation · 27/10/2008 20:52

Christabel - quite!! And that advert was done bfore we were signed up. God you must be narked! Talk about so near and yet so far! Well done on Aldi!

HellFireandDamnation · 27/10/2008 20:53

Housemum - how fabulous! Where did you put the poster?! Bit too big for a memory box!

christabel · 27/10/2008 21:03

Housemum - I am doing one of those Market Research Groups at a Tesco's near me which has a massive kids section so will have a look.
HellFireandDamnation - You will learn in this game that you have to take a few knocks but the rewards are great especially when you see you kids in leaflets, on the front of new games that have come out etc. Not that my DD has been in loads (I wish!!). Not heard anything for about a month now from agency.

Sequin1 · 27/10/2008 21:14

Wow, busy on here lately, good though! Congrats to all who are seeing their little ones in lights! HFD, like you 'hanging on the telephone'! Also thinking I am going to have to renew photos again soon as I think they said every 4 weeks, it was a right palarva last time!!

HellFireandDamnation · 27/10/2008 21:17

Sequin 1 - you're telling me!!

Totally - have posted on other board re thg enursery. Bit loathe to put my emails address on here but don't know how to post to you - can give you loads of help if you want it.

Onthebeach · 27/10/2008 21:22

Melodydaisy, if you go to www.babyexpert.com, on the home page there is a pic of your ds from his halloween shoot.

Totally, hope you are well, well done to your dd, was wondering what the prima job was like as my ds has a job for them next week.

Housemum · 27/10/2008 21:44

HFD - have no idea where I'm going to put it - I thought it would be paper so I could roll it into a huge mailing tube (I had some stuff delivered in a big tube) but it's cardboard! Hate to say it but I may have to cut her down - it's propped behind an Ikea corner unit at the mo, curling over it at the top!

And it was me saying about M&S brown eyes, but she is on website not posters (we leave that to Tesco!!)

DD2 is also out at the mo in Little White Company and Disney store Xmas catalogue.

dreadlocks · 27/10/2008 21:57

Ichef,
That would be great if you could have a look , he has brown hair and was 12 at the time of the shoot, He had a yellow shirt on for one shot and a blue on for the other.
housemum- thanks I will give that a try after half term.we have a small Tesco clothing store near us so will look out for your dd.

HellFireandDamnation · 27/10/2008 22:06

Housemum - get it laminated and stick it on a door! Oh it's too big isn't it?! You HAVE to keep it and don't forget to take a photo of it! What will she think of it in 18 years time! What a present!!

Where on website put in the link so we can all go see!!

Totallyfloaty35 · 27/10/2008 22:16

hi housemum, will look out for your dd as have huge store nearby, congrats Christabel will try an get an aldi leaflet,is it in a paticular section,is she the only child?
HFD have answered on other thread, any info most helpful.
I must say i see loads of ads and im always thinking,my child could have done that, how come we didnt even get called...usually my kids are about 8yrs to old or the wrong sex but hey i still wanted them to be on it

lord · 27/10/2008 22:42

HFD, you've also made unpleasant comments about child models in your postings on another mums' site. In my opinion, you're not just joking and your comments don't sit well with me.

HellFireandDamnation · 27/10/2008 22:56

lord - sorry you feel that way nothing I can say other than it's my humour and others have laughed with me - even sending private messages which I guess you certainly wouldn't appreciate! I'm grateful to those mums who have seen where I'm coming from and agreed with me and realise that it is far from serious - it's all been in line with us not hearing anything and being jealous so just call me jealous! I don't wish to get into a debate about it, I of course wish everyone well!

HellFireandDamnation · 27/10/2008 23:08

Totally - after pcs meltdown can't find the netmums site again and I've forgotten who you are on there!! Ha! Were you the Mum who pm'd me! Are you able to give me the link again? oops wrong thread! - too many tabs open!

Have been to the website Melody - great! Do they give you a picture to keep? You're going to need a great big box!!

MelodyDaisy · 27/10/2008 23:17

Onthebeach- How the hell has it got there?! pmsl!! Glad you could point it out to me Seems his haloween print is more places than I expected. My mate got a pic of him on an email from them too! lol

HFD-I went and got some copies from the local store so am fine
