friend of mine was with Truly Scrumptious for a while but tbh didn't get very much, although since movint to an acting school, he's done ok.

They used to be one of the big ones, but have been overtaken by some of the others. You don't see them at many places now.

Of course, TS!! yeah it's not a name I ever ercalled seeing at castings, even from when my DD did it 3-4 years ago, but still reputable, just not sure how much work they get.

Melody daisy, we are on the south coast. My ds did fresh ideas too, he is younger than your ds, he's 3yrs, we didn't have a casting for that one either
Where do you have to go for the job?
Let us know how you get on, good luck.

christabel · 19/08/2008 22:07

Hi anyone had any further correspondence from UAN. They said they would be contacting everyone who was shortlisted end of Aug for a consultation first week in Sept.

MelodyDaisy · 19/08/2008 23:06

Onthebeach, we have to go to the Bleeding Hearts Studio in Farringdon, you been there? Let me know if you have!

Hi Christabel.
Just to let you know, I haven't heard anything from UAN yet but will post if and when I do.

hollyandnoah · 20/08/2008 00:15

Are there any agencies in Scotland? Or who take scottish children, anyone know? I did ask before but noone seemed to know.

H

julie4travel · 20/08/2008 08:13

scottishannie - we used to be with ts and did a practical parenting shoot, we did elc casting with them too. i believe they get work like mothercare and stuff like that. they have been going years so are well established. out of choice i would go with them over some of the new agencies who havent been going so long. i didnt want to pay the renewal fees hence us leaving them as it was quite a bit to pay out. i did get some lovely pictures from the pp job though.

hollyandnoah - i think bizzy kidz have a Scottish department, look at www.albamodel.info and see what you can find on there.

scottishAnnie · 20/08/2008 08:54

Thanks for the info ladies. I think I might try some other agencies before I make my choice.

Obviously I think my DS looks like as angel but he does have a 'look' that probably won't suit all agencies. (pics on profile). I think I'll shop around before I fork out any cash. MOT, SW and UA . Any others I should try

3kids1cat · 20/08/2008 09:09

Hi, just thought I'd let people who were asking about UAN that the photoshoot/consultation will be in early Sep in Manchester, so I'd imagine that they will only call about a week or so before that if they want your dc to go.

brooke77 · 20/08/2008 09:30

scottishannie.. my dd is with Rascals, shes done well so far and has another casting today.. they have similar fees to SW. My ds is with Kitsch Kids who have very low start up fees and are super to deal with. I think kk are a very good option if you dont want to pay out too much. UA open their books again later this year (prob around Oct/Nov time). Also Bizzykidz.

ichef · 20/08/2008 13:03

3kids have you heard from UA at all since joining? Any castings or jobs?

scottishannie your ds is gorgeous. he's got similar looks to my ds1 (ie longish curly blonde hair) and he was accepted by most agencies, he only got a no from mot but even the other big ones accepted him so fingers crossed for your ds

Have finally decided to try and apply for ds2 as he's a really good and smiley baby plus I have tons of free time in my hands and it would be quite nice if something came up, have added new photos of him to profile, the one in blue was taken today, what do you think?

natnoonoo · 20/08/2008 13:06

hi brooke77, hope you dont mind askin how old you dd is? did you have to get permission from her school if school age to work? im bit worried my dd school might get bit fummy bout her having time off,do you know if they can say no? Also how did your dd get on today?x

3kids1cat · 20/08/2008 13:27

Hi ichef, I e-mailed Alysia at UA the other day about the Emirates Airline job, but apart from that I haven't heard from them about any jobs or castings. She did ask if she could get ds on the books though, which was a nice suprise, I'd sent a photo of them together and she thought he looked good.

Have you heard from them? I was hoping dd would have had at least one job or casting during the holidays, but I guess you have to be patient.

3kids1cat · 20/08/2008 13:28

Btw, your ds2 is so cute, I'd definately try applying if you're going to be travelling around with ds1 anyway.

julie4travel · 20/08/2008 13:54

scottishannie - your ds looks so similar to a little boy i saw at a casting yesterday, bet the agencies will snap him up , just take your time and dont rush into going with the first agency. good luck in your decisions.

goingfor3 · 20/08/2008 15:03

ichef Your baby is cute. I think most agencies won't consider such a young baby unless you already have a child on thier books. DS started at 10 weeks with dd1's agency. We got a call on monday to ask for some pictures as they had a client who needed babies and on wednesday he did the job!

3kids1cat · 20/08/2008 16:01

ichef, spoke too soon, just had UA on the phone and dd has a casting next friday!

Hope you get a call soon.

Luce2006 · 20/08/2008 16:19

3kids1cat: that's great!! I am starting to feel a bit jealous
No calls here for my ds but it took almost a year for him to get a job ( and the only one he had with them)with his previous agency so I don't hold much hope this time as well

Luce2006 · 20/08/2008 16:21

ichef: so ,so so gorgeous!!!!makes me wanna have another one but I've decided that I want to get back to work for my own sanity!!!Nice job with the council where i live and would be ideal for me

brooke77 · 20/08/2008 16:48

hi natnoonoo.. best to have a chat with your schools headteacher and explain the procedure to them as you will need their support if your child requires time off. My ds schools have always been supportive. Little dd not at school age yet.. she did great today, thanks for asking !!
hi luce.. your phone will surely be ringing very soon with plenty jobs / castings for your ds!!!!
3kids1cat.. good luck to your dd.. good to hear of her 1st casting with UA !

liahgen · 20/08/2008 17:10

is anyone Going to the Dora casting Friday?

3kids1cat · 20/08/2008 17:51

Yes my dd is liahgen, is it this Fri or next?

MelodyDaisy · 20/08/2008 19:38

Hi Brooke77, hope the casting went well today, do you know when you'll find out? It's the waiting bit that get's to me!!
Julie4travel, hope your DD hears from her casting today soon too!

Liahgen + 3kids1cat, a Dora casting sounds like great fun!

My DS1 had his first photographic job today and he did so well, wasn't phased by the camera's or nervous and coped very well with all the scene's/directions he was given.
