well, both my boys have had a yes from UAN - am i right that this doesnt mean they are in, they will make final decision when we are there for the consultation?? not too excited yet, til its a definate yes! lol

puffling · 28/08/2008 18:43

Still no news from UAN. Might they call tomorrow? DD's surname is end of alphabet. Could that be why I've not heard?

tinkerbellchelle · 28/08/2008 18:48

Christabel - the costs etc were in the email - havent read it properly yet though
Has your LO been offered a place already - if so thats FAB Well done

puffling - I think earlier on this thread someone said that they are ringing people until 2moro so Im sure your phone will go soon

christabel · 28/08/2008 20:04

tinkerbellchelle - It didn't mention costs, just got an email to say DD successful and will ring Fri with date for photos so presumed that she had got a place but reading other postings they decide on seeing kids so can't get too excited yet.

backintheday · 28/08/2008 20:04

Puffling - they are definitely working through calling today and tomorrow, so there is still a very good chance. I think the non interviewees have got an email. Fungers crossed for you!

Hi there. I live in cheshire & have sent photos of my 9 month old baby Charlie to a few agencies & so far all 4 have accepted him. These are Babyshak (baby branch of Bizzykids?), Boss models in Manchester & a couple of more local agencies 'Tuesday's Child'& 'Model Child' (Macclesfield). They all have chrges of approx £100 for either a photo session or web page design. I don't know of any other agencies for northern babies who don't charge, except for Urban Angels and I missed their deadline. Can anyone advise me? I'm nervous about the up front payment in case these places offer a possible place to all applicants & I don't really know their reputations - are there any other agencies that don't charge in the north? Or would anyone vouch for any of the above that I have listed? I'm completely new to this, but Charlie is such a chiled out customer with lots of smiles for everyone that I thought it might be worth a go...

tinkerbellchelle · 28/08/2008 20:47

cristabel - when we went to a previous one for UA - we went to the consultation had some pictures etc but still got a no - am guessing that the UAN is the same. So think they see the kids and then make decision - someone please correct me if Im wrong

christabel · 28/08/2008 21:06

tinkerbellchelle - yes looking at UA website they say if you are called for a consultation they take a few photos of kids and have a chat and make a decision so suppose nobody will definately know until after consultation - Did they tell you on day or did you have to wait a while

SarahT69 - Boss in Manchester are supposed to be biggest agency in that area but do not know anyone with them.

puffling · 28/08/2008 21:12

Sarah-From my research I'd go with Boss.

bogie · 29/08/2008 11:11

sarah boss are good, ds has worked with a few of the children from there, have youi tried dkmodels.net aswell they are based in sheffield and get a fair bit of work I think they only charge £35 web fee deducted from the first earnings.

ichef · 29/08/2008 14:42

Congrats to all the UAN mums.

christabel if it's same as UA then you'll have to wait a few days to hear if your child is accepted or not so fingers crossed, when are you going to see them?

MelodyDaisy · 29/08/2008 18:01

DS1's casting's went well today, absolutely exhausted now though!
Literally just walked through the door and his agency rang, the casting director from the first casting today really wants to see him for another job on Monday!!
So tomorrow we in London for agency photoshoot, Monday for yet another casting and THEN in London again for the Disney shoot on Tuesday!! I need a rest

Hope you have all heard from UAN now? x

OP posts:
puffling · 29/08/2008 18:09

I've not heard from UAN yet. I wonder if I will?

goingfor3 · 29/08/2008 18:15

MelodyDaisy well done for your ds!! What was todays casting for? W went to one and the casting director seemed to be asking all of the boys back for a photoshoot on monday.

MelodyDaisy · 29/08/2008 18:23

He had two, one was for Wall's sausage's and the other for Bernard Matthew's, perhap's we saw you there then?

OP posts:
goingfor3 · 29/08/2008 18:29

We were at the Bernard Matthews one, I was with two girls and a baby and as I took up more than half of the waiting area you wouldn't have missed seeing us if we where there at the same time!!!

christabel · 29/08/2008 18:36

ichef - Going to UA on 6th Sept - email states everyone will know by 12th Sept but they are seeing people next Wed - Sun from 9 -5 for 10 min appointment so they will be seeing hundreds and I bet they will only take about 30 on.

SarahT69 - I know people with DK in Sheffield and been with them for well over 6 months and not had one phone call - think they get more work for babies.

Puffling - Re UAN - I would email them and ask if they had made a decision on your little one

MelodyDaisy · 29/08/2008 18:47

goingfor3-lol!! I guess I would have seen you, the room was tiny wasn't it? !!
I wonder if wither of us will get it?! How exciting

OP posts:
ichef · 29/08/2008 18:51

Melody it sounds so fab though just joining an agency and already being so busy for us who had such a slow start sounds amazing good luck with it all.

dd's casting today went well, it's so nice to see how much she enjoys it.

christabel · 29/08/2008 18:57

Anybody on here with UA London and do you get much work.

MelodyDaisy · 29/08/2008 19:01

ichef-really pleased your dd had fun today, that's what it's all about If my dc decided they didn't want to do it then they just wouldn't!! So as long as they continue to want to act etc then that's as long as I shall be helping them and taking them everywhere!!

OP posts:
MelodyDaisy · 29/08/2008 22:17

Have been asked to get my part 2 to my local borough first thing Monday for the Wall's sausage's job Ooh, not a definite obviously but still exciting that he could end up getting it!!

All I can do is laugh about the whole thing, I even asked the agency thi evening when she rang to say "Is this normal what's happening with my DS1?" Can't quite believe it still I guess!!

Have you all had some kind of response back from UAN now? I know a few of you had, just hoping the rest of you guy's have now?

ichef-which agency are you with?

SarahT69 · 30/08/2008 09:28

Hi again! Thanks so much for your feedback Christabel, Bogie & Puffling - I followed your advice & we are booked in for an interview & possibly a photo session with Boss, what clinched it was they suggested I brought my 8 yr old DD too for no extra cost & they will take some pair shots as well as individual ones of her & the baby, so obviously she is made up! Its £99 but I get to keep the CD of all the studio photos at no extra cost, so that seems fair enough to me - the family will like them even if nothing else comes of it. Good luck to everyone still waiting response from UA - I guess I'll give them a go if they recruit again later this year if Boss decide they don't want us - its exciting reading this strand & seeing how many of you do find work. I think my DD would be beside herself with joy if she ever got a job - shes just at that age!

Siobhan85 · 31/08/2008 09:16

Hi all,

Im new to this site so bear with me!! As with all other mums I think my little boy is sooo cute so I decided I would join him in a modelling agency. Living in Scotland I didnt think there was many choices for us so i decided to apply to Bizzykidz. Now i have just paid the £120 fee and now came across this site. I just feel i have totally wasted my money now. Fingers crossed he does get work with them.

Do any of you know of any other agencies in Scotland I could apply him too? With Bozzykidz not being a sole agency I could try somewhere else also.

Many Thanks to all for this site, found it really helpful. Ps pictures of my little boy in my profile, he is only 7 months.

MelodyDaisy · 31/08/2008 12:07

Siobhan85- I have no idea about other agencie's in Scotland, but BK are legit and are seen at castings in London so perhap's BK have a smaller amount in Scotland so you may well get more castings become available to you. Am sure someone will be along who could advise about other agencies
