There was a mention of this in an earlier page, something about it would be done beginning of September I think? Have a nosey back at the past few pages x

Melody she is indeed v happy as it's her first UK casting and took quite a while. casting is for a car advert, agency wouldn't tell me much about it so i guess we'll have to wait and see, dd is 7 and she's really into modeling, back in the USA she was doing fairly well and then we moved and we never thought it'd take so long to get a casting but there we go, finally!

MelodyDaisy · 25/08/2008 13:32

A car advert, how cool would that be? How long were you waiting for your first UK casting then? Most things in the UK are alot different!! How did it all work over in the US? Performance license's? school notes ? etc etc. You used to the tube/roads in London?

P.S. Here's hoping it's a really cool car too

Hi ScottishAnnie,

My daughter too has a test shoot with KK for next week. She has been accepted by MOT Junior too and conflicted as to which one I should go with. KK is an exclusive contract isn't it? Also, you said no fees but I was told we have to pay £100 up front????

MelodyDaisy · 25/08/2008 14:46

The KK contract is a 3yr one too, whether that make#s a difference to you or not I don't know, just thought I would say. I think it's Brooke77 who's with KK, she may be able to give you more info.

Hi MelodayDaisy,

Yes, that's what worries me. Its a long time to commit yourself (or your child) to one agency for 3 years. There is probably some get out clauses but in the meantime, she may miss out on other opportunities. She has just been accepted to Bizzykids too so I might just go with them and MOT Junior and see how that goes.

brooke77 · 25/08/2008 17:11

u can come out of contract anytime you want.. is not a problem, as is the same with an agency who contracts your child for one year.
MOT are a particularly good agency. Not sure about the point in signing with MOT and BK tho.. seems a bit odd to sign with 2 modelling agencies especially as both could send you to the same castings !.. interested to see what others think on that.

brooke77 · 25/08/2008 17:12

ichef.. good luck to your dd for her casting !

JeanGrey · 25/08/2008 17:25

thought it might be worth going with two to ensure that she gets some work....not a good idea?

MelodyDaisy · 25/08/2008 17:32

With me living in Milton Keynes, I had considered joining my kids into two agencie's, BUT one Midlands way and then another in London to cover both area's, not sure I would do the two in London though?

JeanGrey · 25/08/2008 19:35

Mmmm maybe you're right. Any thought anyone?

mummyeme · 25/08/2008 19:43

I honestly wouldn't bother with bizzykidz, dds had nothing in 11/2 years - but a lot with a different agency and she's been scouted and offered straight work now too - so she's obviously got the potential, seems to me that the majority of work isn't there with bk (for her at least). Mot junior are far better in my opinion and kk are great too, there's some doubt about kk on here but I know for a fact they get work (seen them at castings and recalls with my own eyes - good ones too). AK seem very good too but again they are sole rep. I can see where you are coming from with joining a couple, but with a good agency such as mot, kk or ak most of the castings and work ground ought to be covered by 1 agency. Also good agencies such as kl,bb,sw,rascals etc. should be the same.
Big hellos to dancerdeb, brooke and rubystarr.
Good luck for everyone this week

christabel · 25/08/2008 20:54

You can join 2 agencies but they have to be in different towns. My DD been with 2 agencies for a year and never had a call for same job by both agencies.
Re - UAN Have been told should here by end of August and consultation will be in Manchester beginning of September so fingers crossed for everyone.

MelodyDaisy · 25/08/2008 21:43

Join a good sole rep and you'll find they are at most of the castings, so you could end up paying two joining fee's for no reason. Would only do it like I said before when I was considering London and Birmingham as options, but decided to go with a good and busy sole rep instead in London

hi melodydaisy ive not a clue of his name sos, not heard anything bout tue but maybe that cos i got dd, let you know if anything pops up. curious to who got dora part are you?

Onthebeach · 25/08/2008 22:29

Jeangrey, I think your dd is more likely to get work from mot than bk, but thats my personal opinion. Mot have got a good reputation How old is your dd?

JeanGrey · 25/08/2008 22:34

She's almost 9 months old. went to see MOT Junior last week and they are keen to take her on. There are no joining fees either. I was keen on KK too but there is a fee - its not too bad - £100 one off registration fee. Just worried about the sole rep thing that's all. Very new to all this and don't much about the industry other than what I've read on the net.

birdinatent · 25/08/2008 22:36

just had a knock back for ds2 from uan, due to overwhelming amount of applications, are boss a good option to try for someone based in northwest, or does anyone have any other suggestions

Jeangrey, my ds is 5 months, he is with mot, he has done babies r us through them.
Most of the agencies are sole rep, mot and bk are the only ones I know of who are not sole rep.

birdinatent · 25/08/2008 22:42

sorry to be thick but who are mot

MelodyDaisy · 25/08/2008 22:57

MOT are a modelling agency who do have a junior section as well as adults

natnoonoo-Hell yeah i'm curious as to who gets the Dora part!! lol Would be great if it was someone we knew from the boards, ooh the suspense!!

Still wondering what on earth to dress my DS1 in for his film casting tomorrow!! lol
I would soo love it if Hugh Grant was actually there, but doubt that very much
