Morning wenches.

LetUsCat’s response to me walking into a room was “oh, it’s you is it?” 😁

Quite rainy yesterday. Think today’s supposed to be dry but I won’t risk putting a wash outside as I’m out for a lot of the day.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/11/2025 12:27

Afternoon all. V. gloomy outside, and headache inside. FML etc.

I think I'll go outside and pull up nettles.

Hope everywench has a good day.

ApricotCrush · 08/11/2025 16:54

Afternoon. Nice day and quite mild. I could have washed the bedding but Misty was asleep on it so…. I’ve just cut up some chicken breasts for a batch cook of curry, hate that job, but it’s done for a month now.

Hope the headache’s gone and the nettles are pulled up Helen. What scintillating lives we lead. Grin

Have a lovely evening all. We’ll be watching football I expect; so depressing at the moment. Sad

Evening all. Nettles were pulled and dug, which led to layers coming off because it was quite hard work (only coat and scarf, nothing exciting). Also no HBFs on hand to help out, or incentivise layer-shedding - inconsiderate sods. The headache seems to have gone for now, so that's nice.

The manshapes are out and I've been a cat bed whilst watching a film - 3 hours deleted off the sky box so DH will be pleased.

Washing will be done tomorrow with all the stinky sporty stuff, so hopefully it will stay dry.

Hope everyone's had a good day and LetUs's 'out' has been fun stuff and not tedious chores!

LetUsPrey · 08/11/2025 21:09

Evening wenches.

Quite happy with the levels of scintillation we experience really 😁

Out with LittleSis to one of those house clearance places but didn’t get anything. Then on to a Christmas Fair thing where BestFriend had some stuff on one of the (hundreds) of stalls. Bought some delicious food which I’ve since eaten (except the cheese I’ve bought as a gift) and am now unable to fasten my jeans.

Have finished the pair of toddler mittens, and done some more of the chunky hat. Now watching a programme in the series Classic Movies: The Story of …. . This episode is all about Highlander. I bloody love Highlander.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 08/11/2025 21:23

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE until this is a success and we need to do sequels !!!!! Aren't they remaking it with Henry Cavill? It's a very silly film and great fun. I watched The Last Duel this evening which was good, but... not fluffy entertainment, let's say.

LetUsPrey · 09/11/2025 09:02

Morning wenches.

Don’t know about the remake. I do know they weren’t terribly complimentary about the sequels in that programme 😁

Flapjacks made, ironing done, washing on. That might be enough for today.

Usual Sunday of visiting plus DS1 and his girlfriend coming for tea.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/11/2025 11:51

Just-about-morning all. It is sunny and the washing is on the line. Sunday apathy is currently the name of the game, though we need to process some apples and pumpkins. I'm lacking in motivation.
<pinches flapjack>

ApricotCrush · 09/11/2025 17:22

Afternoon. Pleasant day but I haven't been out. DS came round earlier with the DGC which was nice.

I've never seen Highlander.

No motivation here either Helen.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 09/11/2025 17:59

Evening wenches.

Highlander is ace. Epic Scottish scenery in parts of it, Christopher Lambert - a Frenchman playing a Scot, Sean Connery - a Scot playing a Spaniard (I think) who’s also Egyptian, some jolly good sword fights, and lots of neon lighting because it was the 80s. And an amazing soundtrack courtesy of Queen. I’ve probably got a copy on VHS up in the loft.

Standard Sunday with added DS1 and girlfriend. DS2 had bought a game called Herd Mentality so we played that. Feeling a bit ho hum now so I’m watching Star Wars VIII and drinking vodka.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/11/2025 22:07

Evening all. Not much going on here - apple stewing happened. The washing got a bit drier on the line, though not dry.

<cwtch> for LetUs re. ho-hum-ness. Life feels very full of meh at the moment.

LetUsPrey · 10/11/2025 06:58

Morning wenches.

Ho-hum-ness all over the shop Helen, with heaping dollops of meh.

DS2 back to uni this week. Thankfully he gets up no problem so I suppose there’s that.

Onwards with the day but I will be sulking about it.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/11/2025 07:42

Morning all. Today's incentive to enjoy the day is a 'ladies who lunch' meet up with friends for a chat-up. DH is on pick-up duties, so I just have to crack on with work, and then go out. It will be fun.

DS has decided that he wants to do archery Confused I have looked into things and all 'local' clubs have waiting lists for beginners. 'Local' is a euphemism for 'in the county', though actually there is on within 20 miles of us - who only run beginner course in May <le sigh> Not sure if DS's enthusiasm will survive that long!

ApricotCrush · 10/11/2025 16:55

Afternoon. Bit of a dismal day with added rain. I went into town this morning to get birthday cards, toiletries and other stuff. I go so rarely these days and with everything changing, I forget where the shops are. I walked into Boots thinking it was B&M and went to where Superdrug used to be forgetting it had moved. Confused Couldn’t get any decent boxed Christmas cards as all the good shops have gone. Ho-hum and meh here too.

Your ‘ladies who lunch’ meet up sounds lovely Helen.

My car is in for MOT tomorrow. <wibble>

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/11/2025 16:55

Evening.

It's so dark! Also feeling a bit meh but that will change soon when I go on my trip Smile

Set up my new phone yesterday (that I bought eons ago), had some problems with a couple of work apps but they seem to function now (hopefully). I hate stuff like that.

Archery sounds fun!

I had a huge crush on Christopher Lambert as a teenager Grin Highlander is such a good movie Grin

LetUsPrey · 10/11/2025 20:11

Evening wenches.

Tiiiirrrrrred, which I hope is what’s causing the sore throat, headache, and aches. Doesn’t feel like illing, just pooped.

Ladies who lunch sounds a lot of fun. Hope you had a great time Helen. We’re supposedly not a bad sized town but quite a bit of the interesting stuff to do is bloody miles away. Can only imagine it’s even crappier where you are.

Did you walk about muttering to yourself Apricot “where’s such a shop gone? Why am I in X and not Y?”. Totally reasonable if you were. Think I’ll get Christmas cards sorted this Saturday, and one more December birthday to get.

Such a pain doing stuff like that Wicked. Christopher Lambert was such a dish 😁

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/11/2025 21:34

Even all. Lunch was fun - much chat and entertaining ranting about life in general. OMG though, the weather! I swear it just got darker as the day went on. We spent the entire day under thick low clouds which rained. So depressing!

Well done on sorting out your phone Wicked - yet more tedious adulting achieved. Grin You need a hot toddy, or some such LetUs - the lunch time chat included mutterings about covid and flu. Confused Fingers crossed for the MOT Apricot, it will be fiiiine. I need to replace a tyre (MOT advisory) and keep forgetting. Bad adulting skills on my part.

Everything crossed for a good night's sleep for everyone and we wake up feel energised and refreshed. (I think that's as likely as waking up to find HBFs waiting for us.) Ho hum, as ever!

LetUsPrey · 11/11/2025 06:45

Morning wenches.

Mad dreams and a sore throat. Can’t do anything about the former but I’ll get some soothing sweets for the latter.

Sounds like you have a lovely lunch Helen.

Good luck with the MOT Apricot.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/11/2025 07:25

Morning all. Today's weather is less grim so far - there's actual brightness on the eastern horizon (behind the clouds).

Dr Aramis recommends a salty gargle LetUs - and to help with your throat Grin

Have a good day all...

FancyFancy · 11/11/2025 13:29

Afternoon
Also adapting to the gloom here - trying to keep motivated to make the house as cosy as possible and not just munch through comfort food Grin

Should finally be getting the last bits for the bathroom at the weekend which will cheer me up. Well not exactly the last thing as I want to get some blinds, but that actually requires decision making .........<dithers>

Had a fab weekend away with friends, knees are protesting after much dancing at the gig through.

ApricotCrush · 11/11/2025 17:21

Afternoon. Cloudy dismal, rain, now dark. The car passed its MOT with something about one of the brakes sticking, so it has to have a service. I wasn't aware of it but what do I know? Anyway, it's good for another year.

Yes, I do mutter a bit when in town LetUs, like 'not another shop gone', Bodycare in particular this time.

Yay for upcoming trip, fun lunch, dancing at gig, and boo for sore throat and headaches. Strangely I had a sore throat in the night but it had gone this morning. Weird.

Have a good evening all.

LetUsPrey · 11/11/2025 19:27

Evening wenches.

<snurk> at salty gargle. Made do with a packet of Soothers.

Rain, then not rain, wind by the time I got home, and just now very noisy rain.

Oh Fancy that feeling of being tired or a bit creaky after a great time with friends 😊

Hurrah for car passing its MOT Apricot. And for your only fleeting sore throat.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/11/2025 23:19

Evening all. Nothing exciting happened today (not a bad thing really) - I did washing which was pointless since then it rained. The Early Morning exercise class was quite hard work at times - holding one position for a while is more work than it should be Confused. Oh - we rearranged some furniture. That might count as slightly out of the ordinary, if not actually interesting. Grin

DS has extra lessons tomorrow, so will doubtless be a delightful ball of enthusiasm Hmm.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/11/2025 07:25

Morning all. Cloudy here, no sign of sun (though the lack of pitch blackness means it must be out there somewhere), so it may be a very long dreary day Sad

<lines up Brew Wine Gin Cake and Biscuit on the bar - served by HBFs>

Have a good day all!

LetUsPrey · 12/11/2025 07:26

Morning wenches.

Quite gloomy here.

I remember the excitement that rearranging furniture at my parents’ house caused when I was little 😁

They can be very trying at times can’t they Helen? <glares at DS2>

Short day which is a very good thing as I’m fit for nothing.

Have great days wenches.
