Evening wenches.

I’m knackered and my throat hurts a bit. Woe woe woe. Such a drama llama.

What do you mean, only one mitten fits? Just squidge your fingers together, you’ll be fine 😁

<kicks MiniHelen up the backside> stop stressing your mum, she’s got enough to do.

Hurrah for car starting Apricot!

Made the mistake of sitting down when I got home. Haven’t moved since.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/11/2025 19:45

Evening all. Daaaaaaark (of course).

Today has been work and taxi-ing. Also caught up with next door for a natter, which was nice. Tomorrow I plan to do some washing to get it mostly dry on the line, I hope. I'm very boring, soz!

FancyFancy · 03/11/2025 21:04

Evening, must be the day for catching up with neighbours Helen - also had a catch up with mine over the garden wall.

I'll help apricot with her helping out <steals chocolates> I think I deserve one as I went for a smear test this morning. Never a joyous experience is it?! It was a new (to me) practice nurse and she gets my seal of approval, made the whole thing as problem free as possible.

I've had a very lazy few days, had a pleasant lunch with DS yesterday and had a short potter in the garden this afternoon. Also did grocery shopping and made a big stew - cheated with a shop bought ready-mix of spice/seasoning and am very pleased with the result, perfect winter food.

LetUsPrey · 04/11/2025 07:19

Morning wenches.

Mmmm at winter stew. Bet it’s delicious!

A good nurse always a help in that situation.

Nothing wrong with boring Helen - which you aren’t/your activities aren’t. It’s to be encouraged if you ask me.

Suppose I’d best get on with the day <sidles into cupboard>

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/11/2025 07:42

Morning all. <leans casually against cupboard door> Nothing going on here. Bit grey outside, but dry and washing it on. Fingers crossed!

Great excitement last night though when the power went off! DS was horrified. DH pronounced that he remembered the 70s when it did that a lot. As if I wouldn't remember Hmm Charitably, I'll say he was talking to DS and not trying to share his great wisdom with me Hmm The power went back on about 40 minutes later, but we were all already well on the way for getting ready for bed.

Running late this morning. Urgh.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 04/11/2025 12:04

Had such a weird dream. I had breakfast at your place Letus but you wouldn’t let me put the plate in the dishwasher, I had to handwash it and dry it with a towel. Bit rude since I was a guest Hmm Grin

ApricotCrush · 04/11/2025 17:23

Afternoon. Horrible day, dark, dismal, rain. We went to have our flu jabs earlier. I found a fairly local pharmacist who do a walk-in service so that's what we did. It's hurting already. <whinge>

Good that your power cut was only 40 minutes Helen. They used to be 4 hours on a rota in the 70s, but at least you knew when they were and could plan for them. You'd think 'well I'll just do this or that' and then realise that everything needs electricity. Hmm

Hope your sore throat hasn't developed into anything LetUs.

Weird dream WW, you wonder where they come from. I have some horrible ones.

I want winter stew now.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 04/11/2025 20:27

Evening all. Utter LOL at your dream Wicked Grin I love the random details from dreams. I was woken by the alarm in middle of a dream this morning - I don't remember what was going on, but I do remember waking up and thinking "But now I'll never know where something went!"

The washing got mostly dry on the line, and then I brought it in because I had to taxi DH to a hospital appointment (all well) where they were running an hour late, so I'm glad I got it in or it would have been darked on and damp(er).

Must organise a flu jab...

Hope that LetUs doesn't have a sore throat any more, and that everyone had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 04/11/2025 21:21

Evening wenches.

Wicked, I promise I will always let you put your plate in my dishwasher <nae>

I think the power cut we had the other night was similar length Helen. Wasn’t really a problem though as it was middle of the night. Good that all is well with MrHelen.

Sore throat just seems to go and then come back later so I’ll put it down to tiredness and not the germs that have been taking down an alarming number of people at work.

Started raining this afternoon, hasn’t stopped.

<wraps Apricot’s arm in cotton wool>

LetUsPrey · 05/11/2025 07:16

Morning wenches.

Up twice in the night for bathroom but back to sleep each time and then slept until after 6. Thus feels like a miracle.

Short day so I’m hoping to get some knitting done when I’m home that’s using a darker colour whilst there’s still a bit of natural light.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/11/2025 07:58

Argh - running late! <flails>

Have a good day all!

ApricotCrush · 05/11/2025 16:30

Afternoon. Quite a nice day, not cold. The washing dried on the line. I did a spot of tidying up in the garden this morning, getting leaves up off the terrace and cutting the wisteria back. It's amazing how motivated you get when it's bin day.

Hope everyone's had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 05/11/2025 19:32

Evening wenches.

Rain, wind, etc.

Bin day for the win Apricot.

Fireworks been going off for ages here (obviously not isolated to tonight, or even the last couple of weeks) but crikey there’s some very loud ones. I’m a misery about them though. We were lucky with LetUsCat - they never bothered him. He just looked put out they were disturbing his sleep 😁

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/11/2025 19:41

Did a vaginal ultrasound yesterday, quite an interesting experience Confused But he only found cobwebs and dust bunnies so all is ok Grin

Last nights dream was about zombies and two of them lived in my washing machine. I seem to dream a lot about appliances lately Confused

FancyFancy · 05/11/2025 20:20

Bonkers dreams there ww!

I agree there's nothing as motivational as bin day apricot - other than last-green-bin-day-before-winter-break Grin
I do remember the 70's power cuts helen - we had one on Halloween once - us kids were delighted, the adults less so.....

Fingers crossed the sore throat doesn't develop letus - lots of people off ill here too & I am hoping I'll escape as I'm off visiting friends at the weekend

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/11/2025 21:05

Evening all. Fireworks here too, but none close enough to bother IdiotKitty - he's be back in like a shot if they were.

We have bin day coming up as well, but I usually just have a quick whizz round in the morning. Once I got caught out because they reversed the route and we got an early-doors pick-up, but being a dead end/single track road, I just flagged them down on the way back and they picked up our bin and next door's (who were caught out too).

Bin discussions. This is what our lives have come to! Grin Grin Grin

LetUsPrey · 06/11/2025 07:14

Morning wenches.

Wicked 😁. Also hope all okay following the procedure. Bonkers dream!

<wipes Fancy down with antibac wipes>
<deploys germ shield>

Bins and washing Helen. Don’t know how we contain ourselves 😁

Can’t really be arsed today so I’d better plaster a smile on my face and get on with it.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/11/2025 08:13

Morning all. Sunrise was quite pretty this morning - all pink and blue and purple. Now it's grey and dismal. Is this a metaphor for life?!

DH has to go out this morning to an office that involves avoidance tactics to avoid some hideous roadworks. OMG the faffing, the stress, the wailing and gnashing of teeth. DS, meanwhile, is on a late start, so still in bed having had a gloomy night of finding college pointless and not enjoying.... anything. <le enormous worried sigh> I wish life could be simple and unproblematic

ApricotCrush · 06/11/2025 16:04

Afternoon. Bright but cloudy day, no idea of the temperature as I haven't been outside. DH's friend has given him another bucket of apples, so we now have another apple cake, which looks much better than the last one, and a dish of stewed apples.

I'm not keen on fireworks either LetUs. They haven't been too bad round here, I don't think there are many chldren in the road. Misty isn't bothered by them and our rabbit wasn't either. I used to sit outside with her but she never used to move an ear.

I've had those WW. Grin at cobwebs and dust bunnies.

Yes Fancy we've got two more garden bin days this year and there'll be a panic at the end.

Hope MrHelen got to the office okay and MiniHelen is alright. They are a worry and it doesn't end when they leave home.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/11/2025 21:10

Evening. DH arrived this morning with 6 minutes to spare. I have emailed college to talk about DS's lack of enthusiasm for anything. I have worked. I am a cat bed.

The weather has been weirdly warm today, but not sunny. There has also been a smattering of rain.

<pinches a slice of apple cake>

Hope that everywench has had a good day.

LetUsPrey · 07/11/2025 07:16

Morning wenches.

Apple cake for breakfast is a thing isn’t it?

Doesn’t matter which way I look at to go to work, and more importantly get home, there’s roadworks. Urgh. Work was also urgh.

Many squidges re MiniHelen. It’s so rubbish.

Have shopping to do on the way in so need to leave a bit earlier that usual. Suppose I should have breakfast or something <eats cake>

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/11/2025 07:51

Morning all Apple Cake for breakfast is 100% a valid choice.

We are all zombies this morning. I don't know why but we were all awake past midnight, and suffering for it. The sun is sort of breaking through gaps in the cloud. And then not. I must go and muster up some enthusiasm...

Have a good day all.

FancyFancy · 07/11/2025 10:27

Morning, am lazing around with TCFNAC. Neither he nor Floof seemed bothered by fireworks, which is unexpected given that TCFNAC gets spooked by me coming home through a different door 🤣

Apricots's right, they never stop being a worry!

Hope all have good days, free of roadworks (as if!) and twatty colleagues.

ApricotCrush · 07/11/2025 17:32

Evening all. It's horribly daaaarrk! Quite a nice day though. Nothing going on of interest Hmm here.

Hope the roadworks weren't too bad.

Have a lovely evening all Wine

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 07/11/2025 22:14

Evening all. Zombie status is still in force and I'm going to bed v. shortly.

IdiotKitty is also supremely unbothered by the fireworks - he's flicked an ear at them tonight. (But will also jump a mile if I walk past unexpectedly.)
